I'd changed the ratio on my old mille years ago for more accel, but i left this one alone. It was a conversion it from AF1 racing and w/o knowing what i might use the bike for in the future (cota, tx mile) I just left as-is, but appreciate the input for future use. what's your new top speed w/ that?
I bought an rsv4 with the same mod, i wonder if that was really a worthy upgrade against all the trouble to install it since I’ve bought it with the mod already in.
it's not only weight reduction, but also rotating mass like the CF wheels, so it's more impactful, and for me, this project was straight forward as i've done it on the S1000RR already. I'm in process of making a video showing all the performance mods and what you get for them, mostly weight savings like carbon wheels, body kits, Ti exhaust, chains/sprockets, etc. that might be helpful too.
Lighter 520 chain upgrade using an aprilia rsv4 1100 factory as an example.
For the RSV4, a 15/43 sprocket ratio is the best balance between improved acceleration without sacrificing top speed.
