The 1985 Effect

- The 1985 Effect - Now, saying that J. Cole was right might just be an understatement. 1985 by J. Cole is slowly over time becoming a reality many rappers are having to face. Lil Pump was of course the guy who the track was aimed at; but it's far from ''just a diss track''. 1985 is the guide for how your average young & popping rapper can avoid the pitfalls that come with being in that position. The effect is in fact - in full effect & both Lil Pump & Smokepurpp are the tangible proof. That's what I talk about.
In this video I talk about the effect of 1985, by J. Cole.

Mr. Jones, the history teacher
Abe wait lmaoo
@@Rastalion93 lol that's like every history teacher tho right? It's funny because I was the kid that realized those teachers was dropping mad wisdom and felt bad because I realized a lot of the other kids wouldn't get it until much later. I distinctly remember this English teacher at a middle school I only went to for a few months. Most of the kids were mad unruly and some of the teachers was just going through the motions because the kids were always wilding. This English teacher was different though. Maybe it was because he was still relatively young but you could tell he cared. I remember thinking that school didn't deserve that guy.

Reminds me of one of my English teachers in high school. He was known as the "hardest" english teacher, but he knew his stuff. I used a lot of the stuff he taught for writing essays and NEVER got a grade lower than a 90 for all of my essays moving forward (including college courses). I feel bad for the guy because he was genuinely interested in what he was teaching and a majority of the class could care less. Learned so much from the guy.

The whole “lil pump” idgaf attitude is a recipe for disaster you will get clowned and you will have no respect also generally people who have this attitude have no skill
Not true the idgaf mentality is a good one. It's basically saying "as long as I'm happy what you say doesn't matter," I like this mentality because if you're happy with your self you have achieved true happiness.

I didn't remember that but I wasn't paying attention to rap because lyrical rap was at all time low
I personally think Smokepurrp is pretty good. He can flow really well and has good beat selection. His songs hit. Florida Jit was pretty nice and Deadstar 2 wasn’t much to shout about and same with Bless Yo Trap but Deadstar was lit.
Smokepurpp > Lil Pump
Florida Jit wasn’t even bad for being a Smokepurpp project. I didn’t talk about it too much because I wanted to stick to the topic, but bad marketing from his labels side, not enough hype, dropped at the wrong time etc.. Just a couple things that led to those low sales
BlackySpeakz facts, his marketing team is awful. There was a good amount of hype for deadstar 2 but he dropped it too late plus the project was sewer water quality. It’s one of the reasons why people stopped taking smokepurpp seriously, it didn’t help that he also got beat up by Russ’ goons and did nothing to retaliate which effectively ruined his image as a gangster.
Ok zenitsu
smokepurp sucks .
I think that....he's exactly right. He's grown wiser in the industry, and the "young heads" aren't receptive to this wisdom at all. Because they're just chasing clout like a drug instead of trying to grow as human beings, in 10 years they'll be washed up and wiser. But their careers as people will be over, they'll be living modest lives with what fortune they have left that wasn't squandered in their youth trying to figure out. Where it all went wrong, 1985. The business part of the music industry can be cruel. These rappers up and coming can get a big buzz, get signed a major label deal, and get an advance of a million dollars, but you gotta remember that you gotta pay that back in recoupment. If you start losing your buzz and can’t bring in the fans and money in to pay that back, you’re going to be in debt to the label for a real long time. J Cole touches on this really well in 1985. All the clout chasing will only get you so far. If you wanna remain relevant and have longevity, then you need more than games and gimmicks

Can we talk about the "inhaling air for breakfast...." joke 🤣🤣🤣
intro to Pound Cake:
"Good God Almighty, like back in the old days
You know, years ago they had the A&R men to tell you what to play
How to play it and you know whether it's disco and rock
But um, we just went in the studio and we did it
We had champagne in the studio, of course, you know
Compliments of the company, and we just laid back and did it
So we hope you enjoy listening to this album half as much
As we enjoyed playing it for you, because we had a ball
Only real music is gonna last
All that other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrow"
Ok
Facts!!!!!!!!!!
💯💯💯cash rule everything around me c.r.e.a.m.
@Dale Mackey timeless track
Goosebumps, such a dope intro
Damn Blacky lowkey be flowing reading off these lyrics when the EP dropping
I wouldn't be surprised if he could rap
We coming with the barz
Everything j cole saying is facts and common sense. Only in hip hop this sounds like a profound message. This the stuff parents teach their kids. It's so sad seeing the music genre we love be so low quality.
Lil pump got affected so hard he started wearing a bra and fake nails for clout lmaoooo
Lil pump is still relevant expect smokepurp
Deon Nelson pump is NOT relevant ur incompetent
@@killvices i mean he still have 10 millions monthly listeners on spootify so yeah he is relevant he start to go into another direction making latino music.
Kamizura 10 Million cause of his old songs
Lil Pump still more relevant than Blueface, at least.
Honestly, forgot about smokepurp. His music isn't like a daily banger for me.
Shits not even a millennium banger to me. Cant name a single smokepurp song or lil pump song besides Gucci gang
PurpleLionRs I’ll help. Boss, D Rose, Esckitit (Or however you spell it) .. uh.. idk anymore
GrindspeeD D rose? You good bro

Blacky: The 1985 effect
Blacky: The Panda effect
Etc
The Blacky Now effect
Wow, very original.
Citi Turbo it’s not meant to be original 😂
I never really listened to J Cole, but shit after this one I might go listen his whole album
Lmk how it goes
Lui Boi fasho
Giuseppe Ugliola listen to Forest Hills Drive or Born Sinner imo
Don’t listen to 1985 listen to Born Sinner and Forest Hill Drive
Who do you listen to?
“There are two types of rappers...the ones who get wiser and the ones who get foolish.” Very insightful interview
Damn man you killed this video and broke down the 1985 song down to a science with proof and evidence from real life.
Damn, Blacky really tryna be the next J Cole the way he recited those lyrics to middle child 😂
Coming 4 his spot
@@BlackySpeakz 😂😂😭
When you speak Cole's lyrics you sound like Kendrick in Wesley's Theory during the bridge lmaoo
lmao
F j cole HES trash pump is better j cole fell off lyrical rap ain’t a thing no more mumble rap is on top 🔥🔥
@@0verwxter589 bro stfu, you just looking for attention💀
Honestly I'd rather have a small "stanbase" than a large follower count
both are bad tho :/
The 1000 true fans theory is great
Nah I rather be on the playing field as a goat or being timeless that’s my mindset but that’s me.
Yea
@@ethur10n I would agree with you but stans will literally buy anything and everything to support you.
In the spotlight in the moonlight, I just really really really want the limelight🔥💀

i personally think jewelry is a waste of money and it depreciates
j Cordero how? I thought gold was gold , n diamonds are diamonds... idgi
Looks good though
Diamonds ain’t worth shit after you buy them, gold will always hold its value
@@gerryomo9515 You can never sell a chain, piece or whatever the same price you bought it. When it comes to jewelry the only thing that may get a good exchange is rolex with no bezel just plain jane.
Wearing chains gives me anxiety
Cause it's so expensive
The message here doesn't just apply to rappers, young men.
Smokepurpp freestyle got him a lot of publicity now but it is bad publicity Bc it was so garbage
bruh he should be a comedian he made me laugh hard
@@theviscount4622 the fact that he kept a straight face while he was saying that stuff was hilarious
Purp should’ve stayed on cactus jack like look how far don toliver came
Facts he was dumb for that
Look at Caleb man.
Toliver would’ve blown up regardless, he got real talent.
Travis could’ve made him big although the hasn’t dropped a new album in like 2 years purpp and Travis would’ve made a banger imo
Go watch new yadiiiigg video about smokepurrp and you find the truth
I was driving down the street and the 1985 song came out and I was really listening to the lyrics and it hit me. He was absolutely right about what happened and he called it on the spot. They follow the trends....
Every rapper breathes
Blacky: the breathing affect
"most rappers suffer from breathing, if they didn't stop to breath they could rap more bars"
@@kingpotato7183 this just made my day😂😂
This cheered me up i was having a bad day lmao thx :)
J Cole wanted to show how people nowadays don't hold their word up I was raised up with a whole bunch of old schools and this in modern day is how they were usually handle themselves he had the video just in case if he had to throw some hands but since it ended up being a good interview he posted
