Watching you & your Mom reminds me so much of my relationship with my own Mom. We had a blast. Especially thrifting & shopping. She passed almost 27 years ago. When I was 5 months pregnant and just 27 years old. Cherish every moment!

I think your moose looks like a Warren. I’ve sooo much been enjoying watching you everyday ( can’t get enough ). I just love your mom; she is just the best and so gorgeous.
The only thing that keeps the wood tannins from bleeding through and turning yellow is shellac. When I re-do a furniture piece, I either use shellac based primer or a clear spray shellac if I'm not painting it. Water based poly will still let it bleed through. :)
You need a work apron so you can dress cute and stay clean! They have really nice ones at Duluth Trading Company if you have that store in Texas.

I have personally spent months laying hardwood floor on the lower level of our new house and we’re finally getting them sanded, stained, and finished by a professional company starting tomorrow! I didn’t dare try to finish them myself because I was afraid they wouldn’t be up to my high standards lol. In case it’s helpful, I just wanted to offer the information I received from the professionals who gave us bids in regards to finishes. We were told by multiple companies that if you’re going to use an “off the shelf” brand, so to speak, Minwax is industry standard over Varathane. Duraseal seems to be the new step up and is more specifically formulated for floors, but that can’t be purchased from a hardware store. We were also told by a couple of professionals that oil based polyurethane is more durable in the long run, but does yellow slowly over the years and shouldn’t be used if you’ll be living in your space while it’s being finished. Of course, make the decisions that are best for you! I just thought maybe having some tips from pros could be helpful!

Vermont Matte floor finish is what we are using. It does not turn your floors orange it seals the floor the natural color. I ordered mine online
Having. Hundred and fifteen year olds house, with the same floors as yours, I can tell you two things. Both water and oil base varnish, acquire a yellow color just to a different degree. And secondly oil varnish out lasted the water based by 20 years. And the oil is still looking good even in heavy traffic areas.

I am sitting here in August watching this Christmas vlog because the last year has been very hard and very tough and I have been stressed or depressed for a long time, and I didn't have the energy to watch this. But now I do and I need the distraction and I love it! Amazing how far you guys have come with the house.

Worked at a box store for 5y multiple locations every single one stopped renting the floor sander because they never worked properly and can actually ruin floors. Having a company professionally sand is surprisingly affordable

Re Mason jars, with covid, EVERYONE decided to start canning food, so it was nearly impossible to get canning lids! Slightly easier to get canning lids WITH jars. But because they were closed for a big chunk of covid, production didn't happen, and there was a shortage. Bc of said shortage, the prices went through the roof!
Wide mouth lids were especially difficult to find!
My parents normally get Ball, but we were able go get some lids at dollar general. The ladies there said that normally the lids sit on the shelf and get put back in the back after summer when they haven't sold, but everyone was catching wise that dollar general had lids, so they were getting snatched up. The lids were some brand I'd never heard of, but they still sealed nicely, which is what truly matters!
Amazon had lids, but the jacked the prices way up it was ridiculous!

I have a family of Moose. The Dad is 36 inches tall maybe taller. His name is Jasper, the mom is 36 inches, her name is Cocoa, the boy is Mistletoe, and the little girl is Masie. My daughter who is 27 years old use to have so much fun shopping with me like you and your mom. We bought the Moose family together a few years ago. She is married now with two babies a 26 month old little girl and a 6 month little boy and lives 3 1/2 hours from me. I miss our shopping trips. Cherish the time and laughter with your momma.

Floor clear coat - get something specifically made for floors. The clear coats that are not made specifically for flooring will not be durable enough.

Use the red bag to make Christmas pictures of the baby. You put him laying coming out of the bag. Lay some Christmas ornaments on the bag. Are you can lay him in it in front of the Christmas tree. When I saw ya'll talking about the bag. I remember my grandson having his picture made coming out of a Santa bag. At Christmas time I put those pictures of him out. Ok, Vlogmas is officially my favorite part of December. I must have checked RUclips 15 times this morning looking for your new post
You know my heart stopped too, when you purposely dropped your new phone. I did that once when I was 14 with a piece of Corelli ware (you may be too young to know what Corelle is, buts essentially unbreakable dishes). I was at a neighbors helping her dry dishes and accidentally dropped one and it didn’t break. I was amazed, so she dropped it again, didn’t break. My mom came to pick me up and I told her all about and asked the neighbor if I could show her. She said go ahead. I did and it broke into a MILLION tiny pieces. My mom looked like she was going to kill me and my neighbor was laughing hysterically. She said the loss of the dish was worth the look on my face. Turns out it was unbreakable under ordinary circumstances which usually results in more of a flat landing. It more vulnerable on its edge. I’ll never forget it.
