This TANAKA edger is used to 're define overgrown edging. It cuts through with ease. We have used it to cut a path in a school playing field with fantastic results. Very happy with it and as I say it's heavier and more controllable than a handheld edger. Great piece of kit to have in the arsenal Hope you find this interesting. A lot better than what it looked like before
Thank you Joanne 😊
What a wonderful tool; I’d love one! It completely transforms the grassed area and makes it look well cared for. xx
Thank you ..yes I love it ..so easy to use..👍👍
WOW it so doing a Nice JOB!!!
Great tool 👍🏻👍🏻
That is a great scrapper
👍👌👌
Edging a curb is like putting frosting on a cake. Looks really nice and professional....that you are. Thanks. 👍🏻
Only just seen this 😁😁👍👍
Lee, thanks, but never worry about replying, especially to old videos. I understand how hectic it must get sometimes keeping up with all you do. Hope all is well with you. Take care. And, really, no need to reply to this either.
In fact, it is a wonderful machine and its results are amazing on the grass..well done, Lee👍
Cheers ..yeah great bit of kit
Hi mate just came across your channel I'm only starting out in this kind of work and your tips and work is brilliant. All the best from across the pond in Ireland
Thanks Andrew hope you enjoy the other videos 👌
After edging, I always use a string trimmer to clean up the hard dirt on the edge that a blower won't easily remove.
There is no hard dirt on the edge when you use an edging machine
I’ve got a lot of tools that rarely come out, but I have them. I’ve got an edger like that, can’t remember the make but I must get it out of my unit and give it a start up. I agree with you on the aspen waste of money🙂👍
Yes it's great just knowing you have the tools at hand for when you need them 👍👍...As I said this fuel had been in it for about 18 months.. I'm not saying you should do that ..but all this "fuel won't last" is crap! Aspen is the biggest rip off since bottled water 🤔
You made a good new friend
😊😉
Nice job, looking much better. That old thing works just fine. 😉👍👍👍👍
Thank yo 👍...(do you mean me or the machine??🤣🤣🤣)
Nice job, like the sign
ha ha cheers 👍👍👍
Re-did this comment on my proper account...For me edging is just part of the lawn maintenance service, I can use a strimmer along concrete have to use the kombi edger, I am getting better at border edging with the strimmer. really finishes the job. Looks so much better once done. it what I think separate us from the rest (no disrespect to other gardeners who don't)
The edging attachment fitted to your 131r would have no probs with that. The benefit of a stick edger is that you can feel your way along the back of the concrete so less likely to veer off into the turf. Nice work, looks much better.
Hi lee love 💕 the trimmer . My lawn looking great 👍 since I scarify by hand hard work but all the bit were I dug the dandelions out the grass has started to fill in as the seeded areas are growing and joining global up xx 😘
👍👍🌲🌲🌱
Super impressive little piece of equipment there. 😀
💪💪💪😊👍
Neat job Lee.
👍👍👌cheers ken
I got the exact same edger machine too. Found it at an auction. Spot on bit of kit :-)
Yes ..I dont use it often but when I do it's a breeze 👌👌👌
@@LHLgardenservices yeah think mine been sat in shed for a long while and not touched. hope u well anyways and keep up the good work and brill videos :-)
@@chrisbaxter6267 👍👍👊
I have been here before and I cannot picture where it is. Nice job though I have never seen this machine before! May buy one eventually
👍
Great job and this is what keeps competition away plus builds reputation with customers.
Cheers 💪👍👍👍
I'm a stickler for THE EDGES LEE. To me they are the most important part of the Lawn, sharp edges just set it off my good man 👍👍. The Tanaka looks a very handy bit of KIT. Do they still produce them? Regards Jim from J.S.G.S
Thanks Jim yes me too...don't know too much about TANAKA but I've heared very good things about them . Pretty sure they do all the tools and machinery 👍
Great job.
Is that the enfield that steve mcqueen rode in the great escape film? ;)
😅😅😅
I wonder if there could be a scraper attached behind the cutter?
🤔🤔👍
I use the stihl km 131R with the edger attachment and goes through overgrown stuff like its nothing, I have a small van so I prefer the attachment and the kombi over these machines and its a bit more affordable as well but at the end of the day the results what really matters. Looks great 👍
👌👌😉
Good vid 👍🏼 I have the edger Attachment for the Kombi comes out with me everyday I find on these jobs where you cannot see the line you should be slighting pushing the machine with your left or right shoulder so the metal blade is in contact and constantly rubbing the side of the kerb stone and that guides you along. I prefer the Kombi edger as carrying your machine round with me daily would be a faff.
Cheers 👍...I think I explained about the difference in machine. I wouldn't need to use a hand one every day. .. there would be no need for ithis machine every day. this is for overgrown edges the strimmer can't handle.
Nicejob
Cheers buddy 👍👍
Regarding Aspin etc when I did a chainsaw course a while back I took one of my old saws that's always been run on normal two stroke mix. On the course we used Aspin and the saw ran really bad. So bad I had trouble starting it. The instructor said it was cleaning the deposit in the engine as it ran. I personally will never use it on tools I've always ran normal two stroke on. Good vid and nice machine. Man after my own heart wanting any and every tool - I hate hiring.
Cheers buddy....A man can't have too many tools.. not ever......EVER.....E V E R 🤣
Great vid, thanks. Does it damage the blades on the egder if you clip the concrete curb?
Cheers 👍..it can do if you give it a proper wack...but glancing down the side is fine....you have just got to be mindful of what you are doing 👍
That looks like a machine invention from Wallace & Gromit
🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Very tidy job that’s old school mate looks finished properly .young blokes take note .old jimmy west australia. Don’t get rid of your edger
cheers buddy 😊😊😊
Mind the police when you go out "skirt lifting" 😂😂 great video lee. I fancy one of them edgers now! Great to see commercial properties looking tidy. Often look awefull. 👍👍

Nice one Lee fella. Do you have any experience with bad Moss on lawns . And i mean BAD as in theres hardly any grass left. Is Scarifying the best option?
Yes pal...you can bring up our channel on you tube and go to PLAYLIST and choose aeration and scarifying jobs. Have you seen this

Getting that PERFECT edge.. TANAKA must have 13 Apr 2019
. It would be better if the client paid you to remove the excess soil so that it was a bit lower than the concrete edge, thus only the grass could be higher where as soil that creeps down the slope would not spread onto the pavement. If the soil level was adjusted for about 18 inches there would no problem and the run could be done with a string strimmer. Blame the original landscaper for not knowing that soil slowly moves down hill due to getting wet and drying out. The types of grass used in the UK do not have root systems that can cope with soil moving down hill. To add to that large trucks force the road foundations down into the soft earth below that is forced out sideways, some country lanes are well below the surrounding soil level they were originally level or above level with the surrounding country side.

All you need to do now is get them to do a paint job so it comes up to your standards.😄

have your ever used the mantis tiller edger attachment is the quality of cut good do you think , would this work in this situation as the tanaka , was wondering if it is just a good as strimer as edger attachment , love the quick tips, may hat is raised to you sir
Sorry mate can't help you about the mantis attachment as I've never had one. Glad you are enjoying the videos 👍👍
I have used the Mantis edger attachment, it works very well needs a little more guidance than this one as it is an attachment and not a single purpose machine. Also as when tilling you walk backwards, but guiding it is easy enough and soon picked up. Another advantage of course is that you have a machine for a variety of jobs, and it tends to come out of the tool shed more often.
Hi great bit of kit how much for one second hand I'm looking for one on ebay
Between $300 to $500 USD for a used unit.
The last version before they discontinued it (TLE 600 60cc's), retailed for almost $1000US
What is about Aspen that you dont like, mate? It's a bit dear I know, but were there any other issues you had? I use it a lot and haven't encountered any problems. Just interested to see if I'm missing anything.
Obviously price is the first issue... but I thought I would give it a go and my strimmer kept stalling and I was getting smoke from it...used normal mix and back to normal. Not for me mate 🤔
@@LHLgardenservices No worries. Cheers for letting me know👍
Hi Lee, you can thank our government for the price 80% of the is tax... in Sweden you can get it at the pumps ... regarding the running issues will be down to the fact your engine will have a hefty layer of carbon Aspen has a high level of detergent in so it cleaning your engine the downside it seems to highlight carb issues especially those that have diaphragms in.. now I only have ever used HP Ultra oil and super unleaded and mixed as one shot to 5ltr... at 3 month old my KM94 was dripping out oil from the underside which at a glance could have been a crank leak but the oil was coming from the exhaust swapped to Aspen now clean as a whistle tho as you would expect if I use at low revs for a extended period then full throttle it will smoke for a bit but less the petrol oil mix now I only use it in my saw, hedge cutter, and the KM94 as I use it as my long reach hedge cutter
Where did you get that edge scraping tool or spade?
Not sure which thing you mean take a look at this video and see if it's this you mean👍
ruclips.net/video/c5OqhIYO3XU/видео.html
Hmmm maybe a lil back & forth motion would make it a bit more defined
How much did you charge for that job roughly?
This Is The property you don't maintain Anymore????
Yeah 👍
If your not going to talk about it, I will, it is different than the McLane and the Tru cut.
They are belt driven, this is shaft drive.
You should be seeing sparks if your doing it right.
They are useful here with a flat area but where the road edge curbing is a lot different in height the three wheel configuration is not useful.
Then the steel blade combi tools shine.
The combi tools are much cheaper, new, than this or the Atom edgers also the two I mentioned earlier.
Cheers Wayne.. good info.. 💪👍👍
Looking good Lee
Thanks pal
