Cannot get this to work at all.
Can anyone suggest printer setting??
Hey there! Sorry to hear this.
I can tell you I've gotten this to work on a variety of printers, but depending on the print (primarily things like toner density / saturation) I may have to adjust it AND/OR be sure I change the "paper type" or "paper handling" from "Normal" or whatever default is to one of the special settings. This varies from one print driver to the next, but I've often had success with options like these:
- "Overhead Transparency"
- "Film Paper"
- "Specialty Paper"
If it cakes up, it's more prone to scratching because it's loosely clinging to the surface (toner isn't ink, it's tiny plastic-ish particles that get fused/melted to the paper.)
You'll notice this sometimes in areas with a high concentration of pure black (RGB 0,0,0). A simple lift of the dark values (use Levels or even Brightness/Contrast to quickly adjust) can help, as can a reduction of saturation.
Also, I get asked a lot about if you can coat the print with the transfer medium. The answer is yes, especially if using acrylic poly finish, which remains fairly clear even at thicker coats (vs. ModPodge which can look milky if not applied thin enough).
And the label release paper is technically re-usable, so long as it's not crumpled/mangled and can be fed cleanly back through the printer.
Though I often find it easier just to use a new clean piece.
Hope this helps!
This afternoon I transferred “If you nudge it, you might smudge it.” onto a piece of wood And hung it up in my kitchen. Thank you, Dr. Crafsman...
Covid is a lie... I like the comment tho.
“You can do 24 hours. You can even wait til the next day.” LOL 😂❤️ crafsman
"9 times out of ten. Maybe 7.5... maybe. 8.25..."
Emerson Leafchurch that was another gem too 👍🏻
When crafsman tells me he loves me I believe it
Me too man.
I'm for real! This old world needs more of it. I genuinely love people.
And it's not always reciprocated back (sometimes we get HATE sent back at us) but I try sometimes to think maybe that person wasn't raised in the same kind of environment as I was, so maybe they need some extra love. Maybe some of those hard hearts will be softened. I appreciate these comments. Y'all really encourage me.
@@TheCrafsMan Mr. Crafsman, I want to thank you so very much. Way too many people on the internet are all about using the anonymity for some fake confidence and just as an outlet for spreading hate and belittling anyone they disagree with. You my friend, are a true light in this sometimes vacuum of darkness. It's a bright light too. Not cheap lookin, or the wrong color. LOL Love you, my friend!
Well, well, well. What a timely video for me to encounter!!! Thanks for your precise instructions oh kind one. I must say too that you speak quite pleasantly. Blessings to you 🙏
Not sure how this ended up in my recommended, but so thankful it did. I think I was smiling all the way through the video. I hit that like and subscribe button with the quickness :-)
I have never gotten to one of your videos so early before, still at “zero views”!
Might as well use this opportunity to tell you that you are one of my absolute favorite youtubers, your videos are a highlight of my day and I hope you keep it up for many years to come!
Alexander, thank you so much! This means a lot LOT LOT to me. :)
One of the only RUclipsrs that I have the notification bell turned on. Best. Decision. Ever.
His voice got healing powers!
Yes indeed!
iKR
Them healing powers sure are healing. Alright.
100% asmr vibes
They need to give you, your own show on PBS Crafsman!
You have calmed my mind, entertained my day and enriched my lexicon, bless you sir
This man as given us the knowledge to translate our imagination into phisical objects.
I personely admire TheCrafsMan and his trully philanthropic quest...
I want the CraftsMan to tell me a bedtime story.
There are some videos of him reading stories on the channel!
me 3
sometimes i just hit "play all" on his uploads to fall asleep to. feeling restful and inspired in the morning
@@AdrianTache really?? Thats awsome!!!
The reading videos are short. How can we petition to get more/longer ones for bedtime playlists?
CrafsMan: Enchanting, entertaining and informative to the limits and beyond!
Thank you, my friend! :D
I don't usually get excited for new RUclips videos but when it comes to TheCrafsMan I get gitty
According to the auto generated subtitles you said:
"Hello and welcome to the crass man show! My name is your house, the crab man!"
🦀🦀🦀
😂😂😂
Im laughing so hard
Every time Crafsman shows some of his books, my shopping list gets longer and longer.
Love it all but the idea to put sandpaper on the back of the ruler is BRILLIANT! Thanks!
This is why I love the Crafsman.
When's the hit track "peelin off the label" gonna make a comeback?
That and "Doing the Crafts". Miss that one. Rough and all.
I’m a photographer of over 20 years and I have been interested in printing on alternative surfaces since my days in the darkroom. I’ve done every kind of image transfer you can imagine, so believe me Crafsman when I tell you that I very much appreciate you sharing this technique. I just about rubbed my fingers raw with other techniques. Thank you so very much my dear friend (that I’ve never met). If you ever find yourself up near Philadelphia, I have a cool glass of sweet tea with your name on it 🙂
Not gonna lie, after your past 2 videos, I almost thought you were done. Not the studio tour video, but the one before that, you made it sound very final, and then the studio tour/reveal almost felt like the end!!! And I’m so glad it wasn’t! Love you Crafsman! 🖤 please don’t ever leave me, and if you do, please give me plenty of warning.
"I know its crooked and its bothering me..." Said every artist ever
Bigtime. I can't do ANY project to the "end", because I never see what even constitutes the end.
Says every painting hanger ever
after doing the whole floor in ceramic tile
🤣🤣
I be rude AF to my air bubbles....next time I'll try a little diplomacy
I need a Crafsman shirt that says "Like That Right Thur."
isamidnight mine would say “how that you can “
Yes!!
Yuhhh
I use this exact method to make circuit board trace paths for transferring onto copper clad wafers that I then etch. Use a cheap black and white laser printer and those old overhead projector plastic sheets. Works like a charm and knowing some teachers I got a ton of those sheets after the school threw them out when they went digital. Always be recycling!
"try to be diplomatic about it" just another classic line from the Crafsman
Thank you, Crafsman. Awesome idea to put the sand paper on the back of the metal ruler.
Can you make an mp3 of you saying “hello”? I want it as my text tone.
I want see tha right tha?
@@archie7225 lol
You can download a video as an mp3 then edit it with audacity
Yes that's an awesome idea!
The absolute best channel on RUclips, your videos are amazing, inspirational, and your voice is quite soothing too
*"If i nudge it i might smudge it"*
Iconic and helpfull saying, Mr. Crafsman! Much love ♡
At the time of this comment, it is Saturday morning and there’s a new CrafsMan video so it’s time to meet at the secret clubhouse which is a craft shack.
Perfectionicity!
Where? I want to join you.
Thank you for sharing this! One possible potential trick if you're worried about the image slipping as you apply it to the piece:
You could maybe lay the image on the workpiece and do a dry run before you apply your transfer medium, and tape one edge of the paper to the piece with masking tape. The tape will act as a hinge to keep it registered exactly steady where you want it for when you're applying it for real.
Just found your channel and watched about 7 videos. I appreciate your "content" and how you don't waste the first or last couple of minutes try to get people to subscribe. This by far the most entertaining channel I have found on RUclips. I have had a smile on my face from the start to end of every video. Thank you sir. Well done.👍👍
Thanks Crafsman! Featured on a Crafsman video checked off my bucket list.
Thank so much, Matt! :D So grateful for the wood print and the other prints you sent. You'll probably wind up seeing some of them in future episodes. :D
TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin
Recurring character woooooo!
You need an actual show, on PBS or something. Your relaxing voice and personality instructing people through crafts is so needed during the pandemic. I learn so much from these videos trying out new crafts in my free time. Sometimes I run into issues with really niche questions and how thorough you are answers my questions when I can't find answers anywhere else. Listening to your videos also really helps me fall asleep at night (I have a sleeping disorder, this is not meant as an insult lol.)
anyway, I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL.
You can do this on metal and make your own distressed metal signs. With those the flaws actually help. Thanks Crafsman👍
We love you too Crafsman
Awwwww snap, my day was already going just about perfect, and now I get to end it with a warm, freshly-baked Crafsman video!
It's always so nice to read comments on the CrafsMan videos. We love you, CrafsMan, whether you SteadyCraftin or you switchin' gears! Keep on being you!
Cool! I asked the question about "can I reuse the paper"!
Love your sound effects, CrafsMan. Especially the spray can!
Love when crafman describes removing bubbles when crafting as "negotiatin' "
I saw your channel for the first time. LOL You are like the Bob Ross of the craft world. Can't wait to view more.
CrafsMan, you are the best thing on the Internet in 2019. I'm totally inspired!
Honestly the way you say label release paper is one of most pleasnt sounds in the universe.
And the sound effect "spraying" or describing what nature picture he could have used... "the mountains, little house, water and truck...." I saw the vision just through his words
Thank you so much for posting when you can! I appreciate it very much! Have an awesome day!
This comment section is grade AAA Wholesome. Great work, people! Kindness among the anonymous online: a proven difficult & rarely achieved feat. Proud of us. 👍
I love your videos Crafsman. Thank you so much for all the work you do. I only recently found your channel and I've been going back and watching all of your videos. The world would be a much better place if there were more people as genuine and kind as the Crafsman.
I think we all need a little CraftsMan in our lives. Just stumbled across this channel and very happy I did. So informative and so uplifting to watch/listen to.
I know this is old & u will never see my comment. But u have the most soothing & smooth as butter voice my ears have had the pleasure 2 hear ❤
Aww, thank you so much! I do really appreciate the encouragement!
You always make the day a little better and brighter crafsman. Keep steady craftin!
Hey Crafsman!! --The first time I found your channel was the original photo transfer video and this video reminded me of that one. I've been playing around with creating some signs to sell like the one you showed at the end,,so maybe that was a literal sign I should try! ...and I'm glad I'm not the only one that says "catawompus lookin' "--thanks for always making videos that are so encouraging, kind & humorous and always "turning negatives into positives"!! Much love for what you do, hope you are enjoying the weekend!!
So many wonderful gems for us in this one, crafsman. Im temptated to tell you that you improve our spirits and we love you! Thank you ❤
Heather Berg I’m temptated to ask him to adopt me.
I was skeptical of this sock puppet man's tutorial. I was looking for a quick answer and had no intention of watching a 20-minute video on the matter. However... his charisma and soft southern accent drew me in. I couldn't stop watching - it was like some sort of witchcraft turned cinematic masterpiece. He is the Bob Ross of sock puppet tutorial craftsmen...
Crafsman you are truly remarkable. I absolutely love your channel. I've watched every video at least twice. I just want you to know how awesome you are!
Very kind of you! Thank you so much!
Sir - You are a polymath! Brilliant excursions into varying, but always related creative worlds. Exactly what the jaded mind needs. Thank you.
Crafsman, thanks for sharing your insight and making me smile. You consistently do that for me. 👏
Another great video. Thanks for the inspiration Crafsman!
Hello CRAFSMAN, It's a beautiful day here in Delaware for making crafs. The best part about today so far is you posted today. I just want you to know how much I appreciate your channel it all ways puts a smile on my face and a pip in my step. Tell CRAFTSMOMMA hello for me. Was the music produced by you. Well hope you have a great day. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO
Once again you hit it out of the park. Awesome video thanks for all your knowledge and kindness.
I am speechless my friend. You just got me all motivated for the day. And look at the subs grow.
“SUPASTA!”
Crafsman - the sandpaper on the back of the metal ruler idea is genius! Great hack for all kinds of crafts that require straight edge cutting. 💕👍🏻
temptated, my word for the day
🎶"Temptated by the fruit of another,
Temptated but the truth is discovered," 🎶
😆
I love you Crafsman
Your videos always inspire me to be more crafty and make art. Thank you 🙏 keep being the best you craft man!!
CrafsMan you are the best! Great creative mind, paired with a great outlook on life! Thank you!!!

Thank you for your generosity and kindness
No matter how terrible the day; no matter how I feel: I know I can count on a smile waiting for my face in the form of Daddy Crafsman ‘scolding’ himself for actin’ crazy 😜
Thank you so very much!
I love when you post on my days off😊. Thank you for sharing your talent!
I'm in the middle of creating a memory box for my recently passed pet hamster, Zeus, and just thought about putting one of his pictures on the box lid (on the inside as i have painted the outside and not sure if the transferring would work on the painted wood).
I've never hung on to a craft content creators words so intensely, you have such a gentle voice and humorous approach. Love the puppet too! ☺
your videos are so relaxing crafsman, thats why i love em a lot.
I'm so glad I found your show ! Again!
Beautiful work and the best transfer method. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Listening to Craftsman's videos really makes me miss living in Mississippi. Some of the nicest most down to earth people i ever met.
That's a useful skill. I love you videos Crafsman. Thanks for sharing with us!!!!!!!!
i dont watch every Crafsman video, but each one i do is a joy with the humor, quality, and awesome project
This is amazing! I’ll be transferring images to everything! Crafsman, you’re my hero.
This is truly a modern day Bob Ross type of presentation and instruction. I’m subscribed right now. First video I’ve watched
Crafsman video on a Saturday after lunch? A nap it is!
Thanks for the updated video on this with the hints you added!
I have never wanted to subscribe to anyone, but I LOVE your channel
Really excellent video.
The Craftsman is clearly the Bob Ross of crafts.
Much love from the UK brother!
The narration is well worth the price of admission.. God love TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin!!!
Crafsman makes the world a better place
crafsman, you light, love and steady - thank you.
without a doubt the best RUclips channel there is.
Oooh, this might be great for my miniatures! I could make some teeny tiny metal signs for inns and such! Thanks Crafsman!
This is an amazing idea! It will help out with my projects in the future!
I can listen to you talk all day entertaining and insightfull
I came here for the print transfer, but fell in love with the voice and positive attitude. Thank you for your content.
I love you CrafsMan! You've taught me so much. You keep it SO real. You'll peel and point out a sum that bugs you and you never edit it out. I learn because of it. I love you MOST for that. Perfect every time isn't real, so I'll rock my roll, rolls and all. Thank you so much🤗🤗🤗🤗 Btw... I can't find the lesson of the black birds in your thumb nail. 🙁
"If I nudge it, I might smudge it. That's my saying. I jus' come up with that". Classic! Crafsman is the best human on the planet!
Never mind I watched your video on working with fabric and freezer paper.... wonderful.
Thank you for what you do crafsman!
You have the Power, CrafsMan!
This was very neat, i'm definitely going to use this on a project at some point. Thanks CrafsMan 👍
I just want to say thank you Crafsman. I live in a facility with a lot of people that really can give you the gears if you let them. I swear, if it wasn't for you and your calming voice, I would just run amok and really get some payback, bouncing heads and throating soap bars. So thanks.
Thank you so much for all the great tips, much love Craftman.
Thank you! I was searching for information and you delivered! Excellent and as relaxing and fun as Bob Ross!
I love you to CrafsMan. Thank you for doing your videos they cheer me up and give me hope
