Hey there! Sorry to hear this. I can tell you I've gotten this to work on a variety of printers, but depending on the print (primarily things like toner density / saturation) I may have to adjust it AND/OR be sure I change the "paper type" or "paper handling" from "Normal" or whatever default is to one of the special settings. This varies from one print driver to the next, but I've often had success with options like these: - "Overhead Transparency" - "Film Paper" - "Specialty Paper" If it cakes up, it's more prone to scratching because it's loosely clinging to the surface (toner isn't ink, it's tiny plastic-ish particles that get fused/melted to the paper.) You'll notice this sometimes in areas with a high concentration of pure black (RGB 0,0,0). A simple lift of the dark values (use Levels or even Brightness/Contrast to quickly adjust) can help, as can a reduction of saturation. Also, I get asked a lot about if you can coat the print with the transfer medium. The answer is yes, especially if using acrylic poly finish, which remains fairly clear even at thicker coats (vs. ModPodge which can look milky if not applied thin enough). And the label release paper is technically re-usable, so long as it's not crumpled/mangled and can be fed cleanly back through the printer. Though I often find it easier just to use a new clean piece. Hope this helps!
I have never gotten to one of your videos so early before, still at “zero views”! Might as well use this opportunity to tell you that you are one of my absolute favorite youtubers, your videos are a highlight of my day and I hope you keep it up for many years to come!
I'm for real! This old world needs more of it. I genuinely love people. And it's not always reciprocated back (sometimes we get HATE sent back at us) but I try sometimes to think maybe that person wasn't raised in the same kind of environment as I was, so maybe they need some extra love. Maybe some of those hard hearts will be softened. I appreciate these comments. Y'all really encourage me.
@@TheCrafsMan Mr. Crafsman, I want to thank you so very much. Way too many people on the internet are all about using the anonymity for some fake confidence and just as an outlet for spreading hate and belittling anyone they disagree with. Well, well, well. What a timely video for me to encounter!!! Thanks for your precise instructions oh kind one. I must say too that you speak quite pleasantly. Blessings to you 🙏

Not gonna lie, after your past 2 videos, I almost thought you were done. Not the studio tour video, but the one before that, you made it sound very final, and then the studio tour/reveal almost felt like the end!!! And I’m so glad it wasn’t! Love you Crafsman! 🖤 please don’t ever leave me, and if you do, please give me plenty of warning.
I’m a photographer of over 20 years and I have been interested in printing on alternative surfaces since my days in the darkroom. I’ve done every kind of image transfer you can imagine, so believe me Crafsman when I tell you that I very much appreciate you sharing this technique. I just about rubbed my fingers raw with other techniques. Thank you so very much my dear friend (that I’ve never met). If you ever find yourself up near Philadelphia, I have a cool glass of sweet tea with your name on it 🙂
It's always so nice to read comments on the CrafsMan videos. We love you, CrafsMan, whether you SteadyCraftin or you switchin' gears! Keep on being you!
Just found your channel and watched about 7 videos. I appreciate your "content" and how you don't waste the first or last couple of minutes try to get people to subscribe. This by far the most entertaining channel I have found on RUclips. I have had a smile on my face from the start to end of every video. Thank you sir. Well done.👍👍
You need an actual show, on PBS or something. Your relaxing voice and personality instructing people through crafts is so needed during the pandemic. I learn so much from these videos trying out new crafts in my free time. Sometimes I run into issues with really niche questions and how thorough you are answers my questions when I can't find answers anywhere else. Listening to your videos also really helps me fall asleep at night (I have a sleeping disorder, this is not meant as an insult lol.) anyway, I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL.
I think we all need a little CraftsMan in our lives. Just stumbled across this channel and very happy I did. So informative and so uplifting to watch/listen to.
I use this exact method to make circuit board trace paths for transferring onto copper clad wafers that I then etch. Use a cheap black and white laser printer and those old overhead projector plastic sheets. Works like a charm and knowing some teachers I got a ton of those sheets after the school threw them out when they went digital. Always be recycling!
I'm in the middle of creating a memory box for my recently passed pet hamster, Zeus, and just thought about putting one of his pictures on the box lid (on the inside as i have painted the outside and not sure if the transferring would work on the painted wood). I've never hung on to a craft content creators words so intensely, you have such a gentle voice and humorous approach. Love the puppet too! ☺
At the time of this comment, it is Saturday morning and there’s a new CrafsMan video so it’s time to meet at the secret clubhouse which is a craft shack. Perfectionicity!
The Bob Ross of crafts.... You make me feel relaxed and definitely learn some sweet skills. Thank you sir! Btw, that sandpaper on the backside of the ruler is the hot nut. That’s a pretty sic trick. 👍🏼
Thank you for sharing this! One possible potential trick if you're worried about the image slipping as you apply it to the piece: You could maybe lay the image on the workpiece and do a dry run before you apply your transfer medium, and tape one edge of the paper to the piece with masking tape. The tape will act as a hinge to keep it registered exactly steady where you want it for when you're applying it for real.

Maybe you don't have the answer haha... but yeah, I saw some silicone squishies that had texts and images on them that wasn't made by hand, it was actual photographs of peoples faces attached to the squishy face with their logo on the back. So there has to be a way of doing it! Painting silicone by hand is tricky ⭐

I have a question for you... what if you want to transfer an image to a silicone cast? Would temporary tattoos work if you seal them in? Maybe you don't have the answer haha... but yeah, I saw some silicone squishies that had texts and images on them that wasn't made by hand, it was actual photographs of peoples faces attached to the squishy face with their logo on the back. So there has to be a way of doing it! Painting silicone by hand is tricky ⭐
Once again you hit it out of the park. Awesome video thanks for all your knowledge and kindness.
