REMEMBER -- You must use an inkjet printer when doing this a laser printer will not work.

I wonder which brands of inkjet printers were available to those medieval engravers?
What printer are you using? I find this method only works with the epson duraprint ink. Also instead of the rosin I use artist dammer with a touch of rubbing alcohol.
Nice videos, could use more volume on your audio please. Quick question, is your solution Isopropyl alcohol with rosin or is it Acetone with rosin? That detail was not clear for me, THANKS! Appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Do you think the transferred ink would work as a resist for etching the metal with some sort of etching solution?

I want to finish the ingraving and fill it with black, what product should I use?
Use a matte Metal paint called rustoleum :) Glad you enjoyed
Rustolium or hammerite smooth matt
Alcohol and acetone are not the same thing, have you used both? Is either one acceptable?
Basically what is required is just a high purity acetone or alcohol that evaporates fast and dissolves the rosin. Try whatever you have to hand and give it a go. :)

It didn't work. I can't get the ink to transfer to the metal. It left behind an impression so I followed along the lines with a 9H pencil but I really need to be able to do this for more complex designs.
It can be a bit a bit fiddly at first but with some experimenting you will get it. It could be the strength of your solution as well as the printer you are using. I have details to the printer I use in either this video or another. Keep at it 👍

Don't worry about the model or brand, this should work with any inkjet printer. Mine is Brother MFCJ6930DW
