Francesca Albanese was appointed the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, by the Human Rights Council at its 49th session in March 2022 and has taken up her function as of 1 May 2022. Ms. Albanese is an Affiliate Scholar at the Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University, as well as a Senior Advisor on Migration and Forced Displacement for a think-tank, Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD). She has widely published on the legal situation in Israel and the State of Palestine and regularly teaches and lectures on international law and forced displacement at universities in Europe and the Arab region. Ms. Albanese has also worked as a human rights expert for the United Nations, including the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Relief and Work Agency for Palestine Refugees.

In order to understand the obvious genocide (total war targeted essentially against children), I recently read English translation of “the Jewish state” by Theodor Herzl (founder of political Zionism). Although written in 1896, the “recipe” for “how” to achieve is there, including iron determination, arrogance and making use of others! A “chilling” read.
I agree, simply trusting in good will is insufficient but we need to fully acknowledge the nature of the Zionist regime. Based on their horrendous track record and stated aims, I have very little faith in a solution that would ever involve any Zionists or that would ever involve members of the complacent geopolitical west. Continuous deception does not forge any trust. Any involvement would be incredibly insulting to Palestinians. As a first step, it is the Palestinian peoples themselves who need to be asked for their solutions. There are many incredibly bright, highly educated and politically astute individuals amongst them.

I've watched several interviews with Francesca now and it seems to me that she's enjoying a bit of relief whenever she can talk to people like yourself, Amy Goodman, Owen Jones instead of those many people in Western media (I can't get myself to call them journalists at this point) who are complicit in this genocide by way of their utter lack of professionalism.

Frank, I’ll start by thanking you for your tireless efforts to use your platform to promote truth and justice during these nightmarish days. You truly have been a hero for the voiceless in all honesty. Secondly, thank you for bringing on Francesca, she has been such a powerful voice for not only justice and truth but plain logic and compassion! I love how this interview goes over the key issues that surround the Palestine-“Israel” conflict in such a succinct manner, laying out clearly what the true reality of the situation is. My only question I think is that, when Francesca spoke about even settlers/colonizers being civilians and therefore requiring protection from violence, I would perhaps say this: maybe this can apply to the elderly and to children but by and large, Israeli settlers are trained soldiers because it is mandatory for them to serve in the Israeli Occupying Force (aka “IDF”). These settlers are usually also armed and more often than not use these weapons to intimidate and indiscriminately kill Palestinians. Therefore it is the right of the Palestinians to defend themselves and exercise armed resistance against the occupiers and not the other way around.

Thank you...I enjoy our videos (kind of new here)...i sincerely appreciate your efforts in bringing on people who believe in peace. People who would like to 'work' towards peace. Seeing what is happening in israel is horrifying...you go between being hopeful, looking desperately for someone to step in and help, to ultimately feeling hopeless as we keep seeing the canivorous manner of israel and the people of Gaza. It is so difficult to watch what is happening, to listen to awful, senseless 'leaders' like biden...I wish J. Sachs or Scott Ritter or J. Napolitano, or any other peaceful person was in the leader position right now. I wish.

The main problem with the western public is that they are not aware of the situation AT ALL (yes, all letters capital). For example "settlements" . Who knows what is it? I didn't understand the turm up until I watched a video by breaking silence guys where they show stuff. Nobody knows that the doors on the red streets in Hebron are welded shut with families still living inside (and then they are getting out through the roof and a back street). No one knows that the rain water collecting facilities (not even talking about using underground waters) in West bank are broken by Israeli authority on a regular systematic basis. Nobody knows any examples of the "occupation" and what exactly hides behind this beautiful word. Please, share the sources, share links and books and reports where people can check the information, what are the examples of oppression. Poor modern western imagination just cannot paint in mind what it is like and the reality is beyond any expectations.

So in 1948 Israel followed the Principle of International Law called Uti Possidetis Juris and the borders of the new State of Israel were the same as the Previous Geo Political Entity the British Mandate.
This includes what’s now Israel and the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
There’s no other State there for an occupation.
Just because there was a Political Vote in the UN with the result that Palestine is a State doesn’t make it so under International Law.
UN Resolutions don’t have the Force of Law.
From the Law perspective Gazans are illegal inside Israeli Territory.
Israel left Gaza in 2005 but didn’t sign any Treaty to give Gaza so Gaza is still part of Israel.
Jordan was created under the same Uti Possidetis Juris that Israel was but the UN, the International Community, her and Palestinians don’t say that Jordan is occupying their Land.
Basically what you’re saying is the state of Israel is illegal, so then they shouldn’t be able to build any settlements and invite everyone in the entire world who is a Jew to come and live there..
