Not a bad point about paying more for better headlights. No car NEEDS driver assistance systems, but every car is required to have headlights. They should be the safest headlights from the start.

My son was driving our 2018 Camry with the brake assist feature and the car just stopped as he was driving through a curve. Another car was coming at them in the opposite direction but in their lane. Luckily he didn't get rear-ended. My advice is if you have the ability to do so, lower the sensitivity of the collision detection sensors.

How about an electric car crashing into a pickup truck from either end? My 4x4 Ram 1500 came from the factory with rather high bumpers on both ends. I am concerned that these relatively low cars might crash under the truck and finish with the truck bumper going through the car windshield. I feel safer in my truck for now.

If you have a good, running vehicle that isn’t rusting to pieces or braking down there’s no reason to get rid of it just because it’s not the flashiest thing on the road. There’s an upper middle class neighborhood here in my town with basically mini-mansions and guess what was in their driveways? I was in my Prius at a red light on a road with three lanes each way plus right and left turn lanes. When my light turned green I started out but a truck in the oncoming left turn lane was late making it into the intersection. I put on my brakes and honked at him but he kept going. What I didn't expect was the Subaru from the left turn lane next to him to also go way after the light changed. My Prius's emergency braking stopped me before we collided.

Similar circumstance, dude was turning off the road into a parking lot. Would _clearly_ be out of the way in time (at least clearly to a human), but the truck got all bothered about it. This feedback shouldn't be considered actionable, I think I'd still rather have the tech all things considered!

@@danubiosalas4231 yes but if you watch and listen a wheel is supposed to stay attached or the vehicle gets a lower score. Flying wheels are dangerous and result in a lower rating.
