Alice is by far my favorite new witch so far. Her role as the protector is unique and remember she was the one the drag ms.heart/Sharon while everyone else left. Her backstory with her mother and that generational curse passed down in women(a not sutle allegory for the pressures you can go through with your family, especially in Asian families). Just all works so perfectly together.
I appreciate how respectful Alice is to Sharron even after her death and what an empathetic and sympathetic character she seems to be. She is also my favorite witch 🧡 I also appreciated how the witches were bonding and Lilia’s “sad is better then angry” 💛 also Agatha caring for Teen made me tear up for sure and the last time I cried at a marvel project was GOTG volume 3 😭 This cast really makes the show complete 😊
Lorna’s version of the Ballad absolutely slaps. But the detail to have Lorna’s mom write a different version of the original that includes a protection spell for Lorna is really creative.
Marvel has released official versions of Lorna's version (sung by Seo Moon Tak) and a full studio version performed by the cast. Edited to add: Marvel also released official versions of the True Crime version (sung by Matthew Mayfield) and the chant version performed by the cast.
The idea that curses are physical, invisible demons literally holding you back and hurting you, rather than just this "mystical bad luck", is really cool. I don't think I've ever seen that interpretation. Similarly, the idea that a spell is, for the most part, an incantation aligned with intention, and that Lorna was able to change the incantation of the Ballad to turn it into a protection spell whenever *anyone* sang it? The writers are super creative with how they explain magic in this, and I love it!
The writing is so good. Having Alice say that she feels lighter because the curse she’d been carrying alone is now being shared with her coven but never explicitly stating it is so good
This episode is absolutely a homage to the films of Brian DePalma, especially PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE. The brightly colored, split diopter shots were one of his calling cards, and the whole time they're in the house they're also in the campy, over-the-top delivery so prevalent in his'70s flicks.
Maybe the reason Rio said "That's not your boy", isn't necessarily because he's not Agatha's son, but rather that he IS, but he no longer "belongs" to Agatha anymore as per her acquiring the Darkhold?
I missed it, but someone pointed out Alice felt "lighter" because the Curse Demon was spreading to the others. Less of the weight she had borne for years was on her.
Rio... Well I won't spoil it in case anyone doesn't know who she is but I can't wait to see their reaction to that. Let's just say aubrey plaza and Ryan Renolds would be perfect to work on a movie together
No spoilers, but you guys should keep in mind 2 things: 1. Rio's name translates to "River of Life" 2. Rio was completely unaffected by the trial or the curse
Y’all probably recognize Lilia because she’s played by Patti LuPone, a Broadway legend best known for shows like Evita, Les Mis, The Cradle Will Rock, Sweeney Todd, Anything Goes, etc! An absolute icon in the musical theatre world and I adore her as Lilia
Why nobody’s talking about how Lilia’s unfinished sentence at the fire “but now…” could be finished with one of her glitches from the previous episode “I love you guys”
Lilia has already said some lines that she said episodes behind like the first scene of her when agatha goes to her store, she screams the same thing that she screamed when the curse took her “get out of me” so this lines is things that she predicts
My own personal theory is when she said "That boy isn't yours" she doesn't mean it's not her son, I think he is, I think she's actually saying he belongs to someone else now, maybe mephisto or something
As I listen to them more and think I better understand the parts they didn't show, I just think Rio was being dismissive of Agatha showing concern for Teen. Basically saying Agatha shouldn't lie to herself; her boy is gone and it's her fault.
That last theory for the poll would be awesome if it turned out to be true too: Agatha putting the sigil on her son and doing a switcheroo, sacrificing another baby in his place and that she cannot/shouldn't remember her son or the Darkhold powers would come for him.
One example of a vampire in the MCU? No problem, Blade in Deadpool and Wolverine. It might not confirm vampires in the sacred timeline, but that's not what you asked for.
I know I’m commenting a lot but this episode was really emotional. Alice’s mom’s song, Agatha caring for teen, the witches bonding, really good episode. I hope it will only get better from here ☺️
I think when Rio said to Agatha that Teen wasn't her kid, I don't think she meant it as that's her kid reincarnated or something, but to stop seeing him as a surrogate son because her real son is gone, probably dead, and Rio had something to do with it because she had to do a bad thing to the girl she loved because it was her job
Some things about River of Life: Her talisman is a dagger She is Green She wears black, often with a hood She was "in the neighborhood" She collects bodies
@@kwalton7690 I know. I'm biting my tongue to avoid spoilers. I didn't even verify with the Funkos until I figured it out. But, being a mythology nerd helped me.
@@scotthewitt258 Oh I haven't looked at the spoilers either. Rio's name, her black outfit, the dagger, AND saying Agatha can't kill her gave it away in episode one. I have luckily avoided any spoilers on Teen.
What really struck me in this episode is how much more Agatha seemed to care about Teen getting hurt than Mrs. Hart dying. The contrast is quite clear. Whoever he is, he definitely means a lot more to her than maybe even she realizes. Considering the show implies that she first meets him when he breaks into her house just before recruiting this coven, I think there just has gotta be a reason other than the sigil that she cares so much about him living.
If you don't count blades voice cameo in the eternals film. Agent moebius of the TVA mention he's arrested vampire. Korg mention vampires in Thor Ragnarok. There were stuff vampire heads in the werewolf by night special presentation.
I thought when Rio said that she's "the" green witch I thought she meant that she's the original, the first, and with the demonic voice perhaps she's like a primordial being and all witches come from beings like her.
My comment will be about Lilia today. Pretty sure her vampire fight involved her being attacked, her punching it and breaking its tooth, her being bitten with the remaining tooth, Lilia hitting the vamp again and popping THAT tooth out as well. Also... what if Lilia's hyper-focus on how witches are stereotyped in society is because SHE used to be a cliche "Wicked Witch". What if she was once all those things she decries, but she changed and now hates what she did. If that's close I'm expecting that to be the twist we DON'T expect. Maybe "I love you guys" is her last words as she finds redemption by sacrificng herself to save the coven?
i think the "too early" is about Rio being The Death Lady, she arrived early to claim the bodies of the other witches that clearly arent dead yet, but if happens like the last time Agatha walk the road or killed other witches, eventually they will die and Rio is already there to take their bodies. Same as Agatha seing "dont" to Rio, telling Rio not to take Teen now...
I have a theory the next test is earth. The last test they had to go through the oven to escape. Then the next test was fire. This one they went into an underground tunnel.
So, does anyone think there's any chance Rio is Blackheart, and saying it was her "job" to hurt Agatha means she was doing that for her father, to enforce the trade for the Darkhold? I don't know, I feel like something's there...
26:38 I think Rio must have been a part of Agatha’s deal - her job was to take her son (maybe she’s death or a grim reaper). So, she knows that’s not her son. I think the near kiss was apart of Agatha’s hope and Rio actually did a good thing in that moment of not letting her live in that false hope even though it meant no kiss/reconciliation.
Also! Jennifer = Donna Summer Alice = Janis Joplin Lilia = Liza Minelli Teen = David Cassidy? Maybe David Essex? Agatha and Rio are both channeling Cher from different songs
I don't believe Agatha has ever been to the Road, she dodges too many questions about it. I also believe that Rio hasn't been down the road because of how she responded to seeing it for the first time. And in the scene where Rio tells Agatha that the kid isn't hers, I fully believe Agatha knows this, and even knew this, but wanted to believe it and hearing Rio say it is just her coming to terms that her wish can't come true.
Well blade being in deadpool and wolverine is maybe vampire confirmation? Or else vampires are mentioned in Loki as having been taken in by the tva I think?
I was worried you guys seemed to misunderstand the generational curse, but you came back around to it. I agree with the notion that the mark is like a "roost". Every woman in their family is born with it but maybe it sits with the senior woman in the line.
When you realize what’s going on here, you’ll notice that both *Wandavision* and *Agatha All Along* contain a tragic love story and characters coping with resentment and loss. 🥹💔😭

This cast really makes the show complete 😊
The visual of Alice literally defeating her family demon was just so well done.
The Latin used to summon THE Green Witch:
Line one: Above, below, within, without
Line two: It's not easy being Green
I green hold on to me theory that the role of the green witch of a necromancer or that's what rio Skill's is(she is represented as Death)
Kermit should of been summoned 😭
