28:15 they said in the show that the road changes for the coven, so she was probably surprised by how it looked now versus the last time she was with agatha
Came here to say this, The panel keeps questioning whether Agatha has been down the road before citing her confusion and surprise throughout the trials, but if the road changes for the coven, it would be different from her previous time on the road.
I thought the base of the road is the same (the wooded path, with coloured leaves) but the trials are what change. so her being surprised at the road itself still doesnt make sense
I think the embodiment of Death just isn't allowed to kill, perid. she's here to collect souls of people who have just died, but she can't kill. it's like a conflict of interest lol otherwise she might be tempted to kill everybody to get all the souls, and all the bodies for her garden :)
@@mrbaldy1665 And that would also support the first episode where Agathat said "you cant kill me its against the rules" - and on the flip side agatha cant absorb death's powers on account of shes still a mortal and would die
30:35 I think that the exchange between Agatha and Rio was eluding to Rio being Death. Rio isn't allowed to kill ANYONE and Agatha can't kill Rio because she IS death.
@@MASTERPIECEFROMGOD I'm guessing she's either Death or Blackheart (considering she literally calls it out in episode 2 and they also mentioned Mephisto in episode 3).I hadn't even thought about the Grim Reaper, that's a good theory also.
@@MASTERPIECEFROMGOD Yes. Usually in many media representation of De@th, it is a sinister person who comes to collect souls of the passed. So they don't kill but they know when someone has passed and come next to them. So Rio is sticking to Agatha because Agatha has the potential to kill all these people. Also when she came out of Mrs Hart/Davis' grave, Rio said "I was in the neighborhood", this means that because Mrs Hart/Davis has passed, she came to collect her soul and therefore was there already. Seeing Agatha, she's anticipating more de@ths.
I feel like Rio might be both Blackheart and Death. This isn't the first time MCU merged two comic characters into one (Sylvie=Lady Loki+ Enchantress, Hela= Hela+ Angela) etc. So Rio might have similar merging two characters case.
Rio (Aubrey) said something right between "Agatha" and "that boy isn't yours" which went unheard (but you can see her moving lips) like everything hidden behind teen's sigil that becomes inaudible. Please break that down. Timestamp around 35:40 on Disney Plus.

He was the first to enter and when they all arrive, he looks around at it and says something like “this is awesome.” Agatha seems confused as she looks around the road, and then says to him that it “Suits you”
They’ve already set up the grammatical word play with the “witches’ road”. I think the “he isn’t yours” could be misleading. That could still be her son, just that he doesn’t belong to her because she traded him for the darkhold. Not sold on that myself but there’s been some odd dialogue choices.
Or maybe "he isn't yours" is more like a "he isn't yours *anymore* " like Billy Kaplan is the reincarnation of Nicolas Scratch and that's why he had a deep-seeded interest in learning about Agatha. I think the Scarlet Witch movie might be a modified House of M climax where Agatha and Wanda both have valid "claims" to Billy and instead of Wanda saying No More Mutants, Wiccan says No More Lies. And with his magical capabilities that'll undo Kang's lies to create the sacred timeline, anyone affected by the Runes of Kafkal, basically anything that influenced everyone's mind to be altered or affected in someway will be dissolved.
Yeah I’m feeling like “sacrificing” him might’ve just meant that Agatha had to give him away. Which was however long ago. So maybe she left him on someone’s doorstep (the Kaplan residence?) back then, making Teen like his great great grandson. Which means Teen is Agatha’s great great great grandson. Makes sense!!
I like the idea of some shows not having a big bad. The journey could be enough for the story to matter. Werewolf by Night seems to be structured that way.
Anyone else noticing the foreshadowing in the witches road songs? In the cover version there are so many parallels to Agatha? It describes the types of witches like the normal version, but the perspective is from a different witch, who is risking their heart(Agatha, risking her physical, emotional-rio and mental-teen) is unable to undo a spell and can’t know when it will be undone(teens sigil). The song subtly also alludes to the characters struggles. Winding in and out of time-lillia, the broken and the burned-Alice, the fierce being bound-Jen, the Wicked-Agatha, the lost is found-teen, and even mentions death as a character who’s love can’t be turned! I believe that this songs acts as a larger Mcguffin than we have seen! It has mapped the entire story according to our characters not just the road like the original ballad does! It even says that they will “see you at the end” which could mean they will meet their counterpart (Alice/her mom, lillia/her teacher, Agatha/her mom or her son etc.) but I personally want it to be the astral form of Wanda! And it’s revealed that she is split. Her astral form is on the road, while her body is missing and that is where the show ends!
All I know is Rio is very ancient, powerful, is "The" green witch and has a job related to life and death. I'm not committing to any Rio theory, but Mistress Death or Gaea/Gaia are the most likely after EP4.
1:10:30 i actually think two options for who could’ve placed the sigil on billy.. either billy made the sigil himself.. or wanda did subconsciously through that sokovian lullaby she sung to them as infants. i could totally see them saying the lullaby was a protection spell and sigil placed on her children that would remain until they become strong enough to protect themselves.
Brandon’s point at 47 minutes made me think of the Once Upon a Time plot point of the hero’s kid being raised by the villain. We could see something similar here where Billy feels bonded to Agatha even after he finds out she is his real mom’s nemesis.

To me, the most interesting line was Agatha over Sharon's body saying "I didn't think you had it in you" with a wink. It makes me think that someone might've intentionally killed/let Sharon die for their own purposes. Either Teen to gain power/at the directive of his master, or maybe Rio put some spell on Sharon so that once she died on the road she'd be able to get summoned to the road are my favorite thoughts right now.
Wiccan theory: what if the witch’s road they’re experiencing was created by Billy/Wiccan using his reality warping abilities. The road doesn’t actually exist and Agatha is only acting like she’s been there.
Why isn't anyone asking " What's at the end of the road"? - We know what they each desire, but what entity has the power to grant those wishes and at what cost? Think Wizard of Oz - The wizard/ smoke and mirrors....Or Thor Love and Thunder - Eternity
This is exactly what the guys on @unbingedpod said. Who’s going to be the “Wizard of Oz” at the end of this thing? That’s just as interesting as who Teen and Rio are. You should check it out, they’re still new so they read all the comments and respond
Think it was clearly Rio who walked the road with Agatha last time. The look of the road changes for each coven, looks different each time, so it looked differently last time they walked it. Agatha said in episode 3 to teen, when he was talking about the look of the road, that "yes it suits you". I took that to be the look conforms it look to the coven.
"THE Green Witch" might mean she's not a witch who's specialty is described as Earth or green, but she is a specific witch whose title happens to be "The Green Witch" in the same way Wanda is "The Scarlet Witch" and has some unique power that makes her magic green in color.
What if each of the witches powers are drawn from the infinity stones? Agatha (power/purple magic), Wanda (reality/red magic), Alice (soul/orange magic), Lilia (mind/yellow magic), Rio aka Lady Death (time/green magic), Teen aka Billy Kaplan (space/blue magic)… Jennifer is tough to place…she could be interchange with Alice. Maybe one of them doesn’t make it?
Prediction/Theory- Agatha put the sigil on Teen during the episode of Wandavision where she had both of Wanda’s kids in her house. She transferred the soul of Nicholas Scratch to him then as a loophole to get the Dark Hold
That’s a really good theory! You should comment that on the @unbingedpod episode they did. They can break it down on their next episode. They’re new - so they actually go through all the comments
I think when Agatha got to end of row an was told she'd have to give up her son she thought wouldn't happen because she was friends with death aka Rio and thought Rio would never do that, but as Rio says she was just doing her job. And Agatha abandoned her first taking her son leaving scar on Rio she now hates Agatha for abandoning her for doing her job as if she has a choice.
Maybe Teen is Billy Kaplan and Billy Maximoff's spirit went to Billy Kaplan's body 3 years ago when Billy Kaplan was in the car accident where his parent's were killed and at the same time the hex came down. Teen said 13 was a big year for him as well when he talking to Alice.

My head cannon theory now is that instead of being Franklin and Val Richards Nanny what is at the end of the series Billy is revealed to be the son Scarlet Witches, who comes back as his wish, and Agatha and Wanda bond over a shared love for him having both lost and spiritually regained a son, and she becomes his nanny/teacher.
as far as the conversation of Joe Locke taking over someone else's character: The actor who played Billy Maximoff is a child, and he was in a few scenes. Joe Locke is an adult. I'd very much prefer that if the character is in a lot of scenes, they'd be played by an adult
Perhaps Billy's boyf is Nicholas Scratch, and that is how Agatha's son is inside Wiccan, then the Scarlet Witch movie is Wanda and Agatha learning how to co-parent their boys. 😂
I’m surprised that none of them have posited that Agatha’s son died, but THEN the story everyone told was that she sacrificed him. It seems to me that Agatha keeps putting on an evil act that’s tougher and darker than she actually is. Maybe she can’t let herself care anymore. Maybe her story, like Jen’s, is about trauma.
They're overthinking the recast... Billy's original actor is too young for the long filming days, so recasting makes it so they can film longer with Joe.
22:37 We have seen Rio do plenty with magic. She can control wind, seemingly fly a little, she HEALED Agatha's hand, she was able to disfigure herself and come up from Sharon's grave and could enter the witches' road without a coven... 35:00 She was probably collecting Sharon's soul/body and I imagine prior to that she was down-under with Mephisto 39:18 I think WestView being a "hellmouth" is the new "Mephisto" lol 42:34 I really don't think it's fair to compare what they did to Emma Fuhrmann with Kathryn Newton to Julian Hilliard with Joe Locke. Evan knows the comic story so if they're replicating that, they have to recast him so I don't think it's fair to compare and criticize.
"Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand, Just like that river twisting through a dusty land, And when she shines, she really shows you all she can, Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande." ~ Duran Duran
When the witch drew the black heart I immediately thought of Rio bc in the 2nd episode she says she has a black heart and it beats for Agatha. I think Rio was supposed to be there instead of Mrs heart.
Left Field Lilia theory! She always complains about the stereotyping of witches (kill people, eat babies, brooms etc), why? What if SHE used to be a "Wicked Witch"? Also... where the heck was she finding those instruments from?
I don't think that Dr. Bound Jen. I'm thinking it is Jen's sub con that is binding her from her magic. Basically its the spider-man 2 mental block effect.
To me, it looked like Rio was the one who healed Teen, not the water potion. It looked like Agatha gave her a knowing look, and Rio had her hands out like she was doing subtle magic. Don’t green witches heal?
44:15 also sounds like some Ridiculous bs. lol clearly 8 auditions and chemistry read with Kathryn was not for nothing. And yes Agatha survives. Y’all are such haters.
There's a couple things i think are being missed. Agatha has been planning on using Teen as a vessel for Nicholas at the end of the road, but he's already a vessel for Billy. Also, Death might be a former human who fills the role as an agent for another cosmic entity in the MCU.
According to my Marvel encyclopedia, DEATH takes many forms to complete their task. At one point in time they even took over Wolverine to accomplish something. So Rio Vidal (River of life) can be the current form of Death in the MCU. Which also makes the statement true about her “get my bodies.”
Wait 50:21 made me sing “it’s been William all along” to the tune of Agatha All Along and I honestly don’t hate it I would LOVE that reveal but with a very dark and intense montage instead of Agatha’s funny montage in WV
To the point about Agatha signing the darkhold - during the real Salem witch trials Tituba testified that she signed the devil's book in her blood. This was referenced in the Sabrina the teenage witch reboot series too. Would be a great reference for the show to make and the series runners have definitely done their research into Salem based on what's shown in the credits
Hela, Sylvie, and Loki (all Asgardian variants) show they display some form of green magic (magic specifically).. Rio being a death/reaper-like figure could also associate with Hela, the goddess of death (Interesting they’re both so powerful)
I find it interesting that they all seem to have a lot of power for a bunch of de-powered witches. Summoning spells that work, potions that work, including healing severe wounds, casting protection spells. For a bunch of witches that don't have magic, they certainly have a lot of magic.
Everyone has magic. What they want is power. Teen keeps saying anyone can be a witch. Look at Dr. Strange. It's what you know. Jennifer's trial proved this. She was uncertain because she no longer had the power: ' There was a time I would have just waved my hand'. She's reminded she still has the knowledge.
@@rjjones3350 Yeah, but Dr. Strange magic is very different from witch magic it seems. Not only that, but just because you lose the ability to perform a skill on your own, doesn't mean you forget how to do it.
I think Aubrey Plaza's Rio is actually Morgan Le Fey given morgan is a green witch with earth powers and she does require bodies and can possess astral souls
Let’s never forget Maiden Mother and Crone! From what we’ve seen in the show, these ladies are definitely examples of the triple goddesses. Specifically for Jen i think her story will have to do with The Maiden, same with Alice. Agatha (and Ironically Wanda) are The Mother. Lillia and Rio are The Crone! ❤️
I thought it was a bit odd, that Teen asked Agatha about putting the sigil on him, since she wasn't able to do anything for three years. But when they met, Agatha didn't say anything about the sigil. It only came up when the group saw it. So my guess is, that Teen thinks Agatha was able to hear his name and backstory in the second episode because she did not comment on the sigil.
TEEN may be sent by Wanda to help free Agatha before she teleported to 'somewhere' by 'someone' before she gets crushed by the rocks.. She clearly said that she knows where to find her if needed. Probably Wanda destroyed all copies of DH book but wanted Agatha to teach her to control the power. TEEN is Wanda's kid trying to help Agatha to find her powers back to help Wanda come back..
True story: I worked at Six Flags over Georgia when I was in high school, (coolest job ever, and hottest) and there was a decapitation at the park when I was working there, actually at the park. Kids was from SC and was there with a church group and they jumped over fences and one of the rides took his head off
“Path of least resistance” is a term that gets used a lot when dealing with electricity as well. With electromagnetism being one of the fundamental forces of the universe, along with strong nuclear, weak nuclear and gravitational, it’s interesting to juxtapose those scientific forces next to the supernatural forces of the four elements explored in this series. Just an observation, not necessarily a massive insight into the show. But Deep science meets deep magic is something we might see in the future.
I don't think agatha is lying, i think it changes every time so she just doesn't know what to expect. Which would make sense with the personalized nature of each of the trials
I'm convinced the show will come full circle, and it's not Scratch attached to Teen, It'll be Wanda All Along, and she disguised herself as a "billy kaplan" and she placed the sigil on herself, with the purpose being getting to the end of the road. Her goal, getting both her kids, like shes been trying the whole time.
I assumed that Emma Fuhrmann went to college, so they recast her...but they did it because they wanted a bigger name/different look? There was nothing in Quantumania that Emma couldn't have done in her sleep.
Rio not showing magic? Excuse me she blew up Agatha's door and had mastery over the wind, similarly to how Wanda air dried herself, Vision and her house after it rained indoors when her water broke.
in the 1600s my family was in Massachusetts - also during the witch trials- and then in the 1800s they moved here to New Jersey! so my family can prove the Mass to Jersey isnt to far off!
I dont see anyone talking about the potion witch doing magic to heal teen. The other witch mentioned it as surprised. I think the bind on her powers is psychological rather than magical and she broke the bind in healing teen
Thanks to The Sims 4 the term grimtern Is now a thing because death is a job in The Sims and I just think it's really funny that it seems to apply at least right now to Rio.
Splashtown is the closest waterpark to me, but I've been to the original Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels more, even though it's 3 hours away. I'm really enjoying Agatha All Along. Lorna Wu's song being a protection spell is awesome. I would love a Weird Al cover or spoof of the Ballad of the Witchs' Road.
What if Agatha can't die? Rio gave her up at the end of the Witches' Road to gain mastery over Death, & the monkey paw situation was Agatha being given immortality and Rio becoming Death & now they can never be together.
They are not gonna kill Agatha with the scarlet witch coming back , mephisto , midnight suns and fantastic four with Franklin she is so pivotal . Agatha is also having a major comic run and update right now , mcu won’t kill the character off though the actress could change .

as a New Jersian thank you for the Action Park mention cause there are not enough joke about that place lol
Perhaps Billy's boyf is Nicholas Scratch, and that is how Agatha's son is inside Wiccan, then the Scarlet Witch movie is Wanda and Agatha learning how to co-parent their boys. 😂
Rio embodies the Energetic cycle of the universe. Death brings new life, & Life bringing death.
I think in the promo she tells teen that the truth is worst i wonder if it's about what really happened to Nicole's and rio
Maybe their summoning spell didnt work and rio was just there to collect mrs hart aka sharon. And decided now was the time to tag along
If the road took scratch because Agatha chose the dark hold, that would set up Agatha to make that decision again with Teen.
They're overthinking the recast... Billy's original actor is too young for the long filming days, so recasting makes it so they can film longer with Joe.
They always over think everything that’s why they’re wrong sometimes😂
22:37 We have seen Rio do plenty with magic. She can control wind, seemingly fly a little, she HEALED Agatha's hand, she was able to disfigure herself and come up from Sharon's grave and could enter the witches' road without a coven...
35:00 She was probably collecting Sharon's soul/body and I imagine prior to that she was down-under with Mephisto
39:18 I think WestView being a "hellmouth" is the new "Mephisto" lol
42:34 I really don't think it's fair to compare what they did to Emma Fuhrmann with Kathryn Newton to Julian Hilliard with Joe Locke. Evan knows the comic story so if they're replicating that, they have to recast him so I don't think it's fair to compare and criticize.
Eternity would be the water and time being. The flow of time is always equated to water
"Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand,
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land,
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can,
Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande." ~ Duran Duran
My daughter sings the song so much I’m starting to believe in witches
Imagine Wanda's reaction if she comes back and Agatha has taken the maternal role for Billy? Could be crazy.
When the witch drew the black heart I immediately thought of Rio bc in the 2nd episode she says she has a black heart and it beats for Agatha. I think Rio was supposed to be there instead of Mrs heart.
Teen was pulling off the Beatles/Ringo look HARD this episode! Bravo 😂
Like a web block😅
To me, it looked like Rio was the one who healed Teen, not the water potion. It looked like Agatha gave her a knowing look, and Rio had her hands out like she was doing subtle magic. Don’t green witches heal?
44:15 also sounds like some
Ridiculous bs. lol clearly 8 auditions and chemistry read with Kathryn was not for nothing.
Eric looked so displeased with the fan theory Brandon mentioned at 41:25 😂 The man couldn’t NOT make a face
Eric has the worst takes 😂 he makes me so mad
His theories are so bad, I can’t wait to see him proven wrong yet again.
I can’t wait until the next episode.
The nearest water parks to me is in Braitree in Essex UK and in Gravesend Kent.
According to my Marvel encyclopedia, DEATH takes many forms to complete their task. At one point in time they even took over Wolverine to accomplish something. So Rio Vidal (River of life) can be the current form of Death in the MCU. Which also makes the statement true about her “get my bodies.”
GINA I LOVE YOUR OUTFIT! SO FUN
also jess i hope you know you were right ✊
Earth Water and Fire are forces that are greater than people. They do not need to be imbued with magical forces.
this is the best cast for aftershow!! Keep it like this haha
I lovd jens "do i hate her? Or do i want her phone number?" Take on Rio 😂😂
All the big guns ot the desk. i love this chaos. wow platinum...lol
Has anyone listened to this version of the Ballard on Spotify as there is an extra verse which has the line “dance with death”
Hela, Sylvie, and Loki (all Asgardian variants) show they display some form of green magic (magic specifically)..
Rio being a death/reaper-like figure could also associate with Hela, the goddess of death
(Interesting they’re both so powerful)
I think the next episode will be ÁGATHA's challenge!!! It's going to be awesome and the ending is surprising 🔥
No it's Lilia's, They show that in the preview for next episode.
I'd need to see a demented Aubrey Plaza flirting with an AI Josh Brolin as Thanos in the near future.
Did anyone else’s Disney+ subtitles randomly spell it magik during the episode?
Note that green witch pushed up from off-the-road not on it....significant
Kids was from SC and was there with a church group and they jumped over fences and one of the rides took his head off
Erik’s intros lately are 🤌🏻
“Path of least resistance” is a term that gets used a lot when dealing with electricity as well. But Deep science meets deep magic is something we might see in the future.
yes if teen doesn’t start the next trial i will riot… nerd riot
We have Kalahari and Cedar point waterpark but I never go to that I just go to the roller coasters
I think Agatha is shocked because the road is never the same. It adapts with each trip
What if Rio is not saying "he is not your son" BUT: he is not yours because you give him up for the book and that's not reversible 😢
I don't think agatha is lying, i think it changes every time so she just doesn't know what to expect. Which would make sense with the personalized nature of each of the trials
Loving Gina really getting into the halloween vibes🖤🧡
(Everyone else is as well - I just noticed Gina first😅)
I'm convinced the show will come full circle, and it's not Scratch attached to Teen, It'll be Wanda All Along, and she disguised herself as a "billy kaplan" and she placed the sigil on herself, with the purpose being getting to the end of the road. Her goal, getting both her kids, like shes been trying the whole time.
I assumed that Emma Fuhrmann went to college, so they recast her...but they did it because they wanted a bigger name/different look? There was nothing in Quantumania that Emma couldn't have done in her sleep.
Can Gina just write for Marvel? I love her take
Rio not showing magic? Excuse me she blew up Agatha's door and had mastery over the wind, similarly to how Wanda air dried herself, Vision and her house after it rained indoors when her water broke.
in the 1600s my family was in Massachusetts - also during the witch trials- and then in the 1800s they moved here to New Jersey! so my family can prove the Mass to Jersey isnt to far off!
I dont see anyone talking about the potion witch doing magic to heal teen. The other witch mentioned it as surprised. I think the bind on her powers is psychological rather than magical and she broke the bind in healing teen
if anybody gets hurt/ unalived I will IMMEDIATELY wonder why Jennifer didn’t Moon Water Heal them 😂
Thanks to The Sims 4 the term grimtern Is now a thing because death is a job in The Sims and I just think it's really funny that it seems to apply at least right now to Rio.
Now I need Polka of the Witches' Road...
Prince’s Paisley Park has at least 4 recording studios at his house. Haha
Gina I like your Halloween look
" death isn't the god of something " are yall forgetting hela
Re: a character playing someone later revealed to be a comic-established character, how about Skye on AOS revealed to be Quake (Daisy Johnson).
