    A bridge saw also know as a rail saw, will make accurate cuts a much easier and efficient task. On this type of wet saw, the tile is kept still and the blade is moved through the tile. Now the Saw comes with an attachment at the back of the blade to collect all the dust and water, referred to as "Zero Dust" which makes this Saw even better. The Viper Blade shown in the video is an upgrade from the stock blade that comes with the saw, which makes for much faster cutting.
    The RUBI DC-250 range of tile saws is formed by machines with mobile heads offering the professional tile Installer maximum functionality and reliability.
    The DC-250 is ideal for intensive cutting of glazed and stoneware tiles, as well as for cutting porcelain tiles or the occasional cutting of natural stone.
    Available in two models: 850 and 1200, with cutting lengths of 38.6 and 47.4 in. respectively (including plunge cut).
    The motor assembly, mounted on sliding bearings, of the DC-250 offers maximum precision and cutting quality, as well as the possibility of miter cuts on pieces up to 41.73 in. long.
    Their removable aluminum tables facilitate cleaning and maintenance of DC-250 tile saws, and the folding leg system with built-in wheels facilitates moving and handling of the cutters.
    The DC-250 includes a Arrowhead 10” diamond blade. This continuous rim blade allows you to make cuts in all sorts of ceramic tiles, with optimum results and good performance.
    The 1.5 HP motor, with a thermal protector, is perfect for cutting porcelain tiles.
    The DC-250 850 includes an adjustable lateral stop (0° to 45°) to make repetitive cuts easy and practical.
    The DC-250 1200, on the other hand, has a square that can be adjusted up to 60º degrees to facilitate angular cutting of large format pieces.
    Its large work area (39.37x19.09 in.) is ideal for working with large format ceramic tiles and the working height of 33.27 in. provides the professional with better ergonomics. At RUBI we have always been concerned about the health of professionals. The concept of ergonomics is always present within the design of our tools, as we believe that safety and minimizing the risk of injury at work are essential for health and proper performance. Really you like this one? The instant rust, no ability to balance, low tollorance on the tables and once you bump the water box forget cutting a miter on full length. You sure you know what you are talking about...

    When i got into doing tile years ago I took many wets for a test drive. I settled on a QEP 40" rail saw. In my eyes it was the only way to go. Made cutting 36" tile super easy with out going off line, not to mention plunge cut. But the time has come to go bigger as 48" is the 36.

      Hi sal ! When on a 45 °angle. Will it cut in a straight line on the tile ?
      Always have the problem for instance when I mark 14.3 cm on a
      Tile of 60 cm the other end is 14.4 cm , because the 90 ° angle is not that accurate.

    Hi Sal, Thanks for posting this video. Do you have any general thoughts on a bridge saw like this one vs a more common (in North America) sliding table? I’m in search for a new saw. I’m debating on the choice of a Rubi DC250-1200 (bridge) and the DeWalt DC36000S. Thank you.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  3 года назад +2

      For large tiles the bridge saw is a much better option and is more capable, The new Dewalt I think is reaching the limit of what a tray can handle in my opinion, I can't see it getting bigger than what it is now.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  5 лет назад +1

      Two different types of saws, one is better at something than the other, but all things can be done by both. For accuracy the bridge saw, for versatility the table saw, for large long tiles the bridge, for transportability the dealt. I have both.

  • @dbassett74
    @dbassett74 3 года назад +3

    Can it be used for a cross cut on a 48" tile? Doesn't seem like there is an easy way to support it perpendicular to the machine.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  3 года назад +1

      Max tile size it can cut is 48" a tile that size on a diagonal will not fit, if that is what you mean, however you can by extension tables to support wider tiles.

  • @jeosua

    Is this aluminum construction or plastic? Top rail looks good. How about weight? I bought two imer combis which weighed close to nothing but the construction is plastic which caused the blade to wobble after only one building. Maybe your use for this saw is different then mine.

      I’m not the tile expert and just researching this saw. But I know on my current saw when the cuts curve one way or another it’s usually a dull blade. Not sure about it being off by 1/8 or 1/4

    Your video reminds me that when cutting with a wet saw.. I sometimes experience the tile cracks at the end of the cut. What can I do to prevent that.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  6 лет назад +6

      Better blade will help, slow down when you get towards the end, turn the tile cut from the other side, scored half way through the depth of the tile, then finish the cut, support the tile on both sides, put a piece of foam board under the tile, or any combination of these that come imidiately to mind.

    I have the MK diamond 24 and I'm very disappointed. It's just not accurate and Trey doesn't slide very smoothly no matter how much grease I put on it and to make matters worse the motor shaft snapped in half yesterday! No kidding the saw probably has 50 hours on it but it's over 12 months old and MK is just laughing at me. Is it a $500 motor. For those of you interested in buying a tile saw either do something with a DeWalt or go with one of these Bridge saws. I know they're heavy but between a big Rubi snap cutter and one of these Bridge saws I believe you would get a whole bunch more work done than messing around with that hundred pound MK diamond. Hope that help somebody

      If you are having trouble, don't cut all the way through on your first pass, line the blade up with the line, lightly score the tile a couple of times, then when the cut is deep enough, go the rest of the way. The scores are quick to do and will guide the blade so it does not wonder when you go all the way through.
