AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on RUclips are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!
To all our brave Air Force men and women: "THANK YOU for your service to our great country!" ❤
As an USAF veteran I appreciate your thoughtful and insightful parallel from football and military service. I’ve followed you for a while, but I will admit - this is the closest I’ve felt to you. Even with your experience while in Vietnam, I find it interesting how your bridge all of your experiences into a holistic view of the world and find a bright side. I wish more of us would view things from all sides.
Hi Michelle, I appreciate your comment so much. As you can imagine, this is a fine line to walk. I have been trying to honestly convey my experiences and feelings and how they have been affected by travel. I have nothing but the highest respect for all those who have served in our military, and I have tried to make that clear many times over the years on this channel. With this video I was trying to express some optimism - a bright side, as you say. Where we once found enemies, now we can find great friends. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts here.
I too am a graduate of USAFA. But in my years we wore blues, only won 8 games in 4 years, froze and got sunburned. We had to attend the games and we were charged to attend. We actually went to the opponents team and “stole” the female cheerleaders since we didn’t have women.
But thanks for a great video, as always.
Here's a bit of an Alabama connection to Linebacker II. Bama linebacker Derrick Thomas' ('85-'88) father was a pilot of a B-52 during Vietnam, and was lost during the Linebacker II operation. Derrick grew up in south Florida, later coming to Alabama to play Linebacker. He finished his career at Bama as an All American, with a total of 52 QB sacks. He always said he felt fortunate to finish with the same number of sacks as the B-52 number his father flew, in addition to the Linebacker connection.
This is an awesome comment that resonates with me. My cousin was a dear friend of Derrick's at Alabama.
I consider your channel a travel show. So tailgating at different Universities is very cool. Keep them coming
I live 10 minutes away from the Academy…!
Definitely attend a game - we really enjoyed it!
Thank you to all our veterans serving now or who have served our country. We appreciate you all and love you! Thank you for your sacrifices because we wouldn’t have what we do without you! ♥️🙏🙏
We love the 'football' videos! keep them coming! my bucket list includes a home Air Force Academy game. Love the service academies!
My son lives in the Springs, There is a wonderful Air museum there if you every visit. They restored a WWII P-38 Lighting and its WWII pilot lived in the Springs. It was scrapped left buried in the jungle after the war. I watched it over the years come to life and that same pilot in his 90's got to see his own plane fly again. He was taken up in a Cessna on it's first flight to watch. Next time for burgers the Front Range BBQ in Old Colorado City
We went to the WWII Aviation Museum recently. The best museum I've been to in years! A must do when in CO Springs! Every plane in that museum can be down today. It's quite a place.
Thank you for sharing this. The fact that the Vietnamese people can be so warm and friendly towards Americans, especially after what our Govt did to them and their Country, says a lot about them. I was drafted in '71 into the Army, and fortunately spent my two years in Germany. I have friends that went to Vietnam, and although they survived and returned home, their lives were forever altered. I'm afraid our current Administration is trying to create this generations Vietnam. I pray for our young people.
Thanks so much for your comment. You have directly addressed the fire that I was dancing around. I wanted to talk more about Linebacker II but I hesitated. If people do their homework they will understand. God Bless all the victims of the war machine, American and Vietnamese and others. I hope we will pause to learn from our mistakes.
The current administration ended the war in Afghanistan. Which war are you referring to for this generations “Vietnam”?
@@LongLongHoneymoon ❤️
@@razzwilmz7970 take your pick. Ukraine or back in the middle east. BTW, the withdrawal from Afghanistan went swimmingly. Kudos to Joe.
@@RamblinRoadies We have no military in Ukraine, The middle east has been a powder keg since 1947 when the UN gave Israel Palestinian land . The withdrawal in Afghanistan was a completion of Donald's peace treaty and ultimate withdrawal of US troops.
I am really enjoying this series of college football/camping videos. It is a creative way to combine travel, camping, and something fun. I just retired and am looking forward to doing some traveling soon. Your videos have been a great aid to my planning. Maybe I'll see you out there. Stay safe.
Winterized our trailer this week in preparation to put it in winter storage. Thanks for keeping me entertained.
Loved this video and your insights into the Air Force Academy and Viet Nam itself. We have stayed often in Bear Creek Lake Park in the Indian Paint Brush Campground during our Denver visits from here on the Western Slope. It is not a State Park. It is run by the City of Lakewood and is very popular. If you want to stay there on a weekend, you need reservations months in advance. And if you are out late in Denver, you have a different late night entrance to the camping area off of C470. A great location for visiting Red Rocks or other foothill attractions. We have never limited our intake to 6% beer in the privacy of our trailer or even ur picnic table,
Great choice of places to visit. I visited there about 50 years ago. I hope you got to visit the beautiful chapel. I'm loving this series. Thanks to all cadets for your future service.
Unfortunately, the chapel is under renovation that will not be complete until next year. Maybe we will return in the future when the new stadium and chapel renovations are complete! Thanks for giving this new series a try. I think that making these videos is kind of like writing music. Every video will come out a little bit different, depending upon what we find. For some reason this one was challenging to put together. With that said, I think it will be fun to put all of these different college town videos on a playlist and watch them through.
😅 thank you for sharing this it has been so interesting God bless you
We enjoyed this episode. Our daughter and son-in-law are 30 year veterans of the USAF and our daughters carrier began at the Air Force Academy in 1988. We’ve attended football games and camped at the FamCamp at the Academy. You brought a new perspective to us regarding Linebacker 2, the bombing campaign of Vietnam and your recent visit to Vietnam. My wife and I agree you’re a couple of peace and reconciliation. Bless you and safe travels.
Thank you so much for your comment. You are so right - it's all about peace and reconciliation. We are going back to Vietnam in a few days and I really look forward to sharing our experiences with you. I recently visited my cousin Don's (KIA in Vietnam in 1967) Alabama gravesite and am working on a new video. It's heavy subject matter and I try to address it delicately. I appreciate your positive feedback more than you know.
Thank you for a great video, I appreciated ALL of it.
I’m pretty sure, in today’s global environment, if I were in the AFA Stadium as both of you, I would be filled with emotion and thankfulness towards all of the Cadets as well. Bless them and their family’s!
Love these videos. Cool theme.
U of Iowa next!
Really enjoying this college football series! Thanks for the great videos and thoght-provoking moments.
I like this a lot more than generator reviews.
Travelling to cool places and sharing those experiences with us is wonderful! Keep it up. Love it!
Roll Tide.
I am not thrilled with team sports but I loved this video. (I was in the Air National Guard in the early '90s.) I loved everything about this video. And I love, love, love CO Springs and Garden of the Gods. Wow, that was some storm ! So, just keep doing what you're doing and share what you want to with us, and just have the very best time you can. God bless you both. 🙏
PS: RUclips forced me to remove my ad blocker and I can't help but notice there are no ads on this video. Why the hell not? Nothing controversial here.
I remember Linebacker II, from the perspective of sitting in a plane most of the day, in full battle gear, waiting to see if we were going. On our North Carolina base, all of our B-52s, KC135s, and F4s were taking off all day long heading to Viet Nam. Turns out, our engineering team did not go that time, but it was a scary being out of touch, my wife had no idea what was happening. Many of my friends became prisoners of war during that operation. And if memory serves me, the peace talks had been stalled for quite some time, shape of the table and all that. Nixon grew impatient and ordered the bombing to speed things up. And it apparently worked as the peace treaty was signed a few months later. Too bad so many were killed on both sides for a politician's war.
Thanks, this year I have been trying to better educate myself about Vietnam and what happened during the war. My uncle flew helicopters there, and my cousin was killed there (Don Leslie Michael, Medal of Honor recipient, died in 1967 in Tay Ninh province). Next year in January we are flying into Saigon and I'm going to try to visit Tay Ninh (about 55 miles north of Saigon). There is still B-52 wreckage in Hanoi. We will likely return to Hanoi in January. I will post more content here in the future about our experiences in Vietnam. I try to stay neutral in the videos, but I like your phrase "politician's war" - it's truly hard for me to understand how North Vietnam ever posed any threat to North Alabama, and why my cousin was shipped across the world to die there. If we don't question authority, it will keep on happening. God Bless you and all who faithfully served. I appreciate your comments very much.
I will be watching! I’ve watched all your travel videos for years!
I’m not into the repairs videos ect but the travel videos I love!
Awesome! Thank you! The travel videos are a lot of work to put together, but in the end, I am usually proud of them, and I hope that people enjoy them. If enough people watch the travel videos, we will make some really great ones next year.
I am enjoying your videos of the football stadiums. Thanks for sharing.
USAFA famcamp is a great campground for those with military access.
💐💐💐👍🦅😎🇺🇸. My brother was in the Air Force in the early 60’s. GOD BLESS American’s service men and women!
Love the videos. So what makes you happy. We’ll keep watching.
I retired from the United States Military Academy West Point New York ! I love it when Army football played the Air Force Academy ! The fly overs were the best !!!
Very nice! USAFA grad myself. Ranked #22. Use a sticky plastic tab to pull out windows
I love your football stadium trips. Keep up the great videos. My niece and her husband both graduated from the Air Force Academy. He flies Ospreys.
Really appreciate your insight and attitude toward the current people of Viet Nam. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing these football videos and thank you for the Vietnam add on. I think thst is a beautiful part of the world. Colorado Springs is a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing.
I have been to Colorado Springs, I enjoyed it, went to a lot of places... Didn't visit the AF Academy, look beautiful driving by it... I am a former Navy officer so it wasn't high on my list of places to visit. Lots of places to see in that area!!!
Garden of the God’s Shipwreck Mountain was great to scramble up & down as a youngster.
Dang you were 15 minutes from my house! At least let a fella know next time and I can fill your fridge with Colorado’s finest brews. There’s a cool drive up Rampart Rd behind Balanced Rock in Garden of the Gods for your next visit.
My son-in-law is on active duty right now. And just got back from a deployment. Keep up the great work. Love all your videos.
LOVE the football stadium videos!!!
You should have gone down to the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque it was only 300 or so miles south. It’s a beautiful sight to see
Geez Sean, who won the game??? 😁
Air Force! The home team has won every game we’ve attended so far!
thanks for the football videos! I really enjoy them - especially this one! We were at that game - my granddaughter’s school choir sang the National anthem! Wish I knew you were there I would have loved to say hi! Hope you enjoyed your stay in our fair city. LOLOHO
Glad you made it to a game at one of the Academies! Your treatment of part of the Vietnam War was good. One on one contact/relationships are way better than government to government. More of it would make the world a better place. To bad we can't generate more of it........
Thanks again for this series.
All though I like the wiener jokes and generator reviews, these videos keeps things fresh and interesting. People forget about middle America and how friendly and relaxing it can be with the slower pace. Good job!
Damn cool video this week... LLH is taking back its place as our #1 show on the interwebs.
Great video other than In-N-Out there are some awesome local burger joints in Spring.
I do like the new way your videos are going. I never thought about RVing to a college football game and it looks like this one would be a good one to check out. I wonder if you could get into and Army/Navy game? We used to live in eastern Kansas and we'd travel to Colorado to ski. We'd always make that drive across Kansas at night because we thought it was such a boring drive. But maybe not as boring as driving across western Nebraska! Ha Ha!
I enjoy all your vlogs no matter where you go. You always find something in your surroundings to comment on. Thank you both. 🇨🇦
Love your college videos. We have been to West Point and Annapolis - both very inspirational as you state. Air Force is next on our list. Thanks for the review. Go Navy!
Have you been to the BSU stadium in Boise Idaho?
If not you should come check out the blue turf👍
Glad to see your Better half in this video.
With all do respect👌
She is Smoken Hot in that dress and boots 😘
Great video. Kepp them coming. I see you are our west. I think Boise state would be a great video.
I was in the Air Force 17:27 TDY in Guam during Linebacker II supporting B-52’s many left and some never came back. The memories are hard to fathom as I have lost friends on those Buff’s that didn’t come back.
Thanks. To be honest, I stepped into the stadium and I saw “linebacker ii” and it kind of threw me off, since we had been in Vietnam a few months before, and have learned so much this year about the war. In three words, you summed up my feelings better than what I expressed in a 20 minute video. Anyway, thanks for your service, thanks for watching, and thanks for sharing here in the comments.
I am a Linebacker II veteran too. Maybe you should do a little socializing with the families of the air crew that didn't return. We sent 125 B-52's off at one time and we counted them as they took off. When the last one took off from Guam, there was a strange silence, because we knew the power each of those planes had and even felt sorry for the enemy. Until we heard 3 of our planes had been shot down. If you can't have respect for people that served your country, I don't know why you want to set foot on one of the most revered sites of the USAF. Oh yeah, it's just a game. don't worry, I will unsubscribe.
@@screddot7074 I have total respect for those who served. I always go out of my way to thank them for their service. I'm sorry if that was not clear. I have stated so repeatedly on this channel. I lost a family member in Vietnam who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Courage. ruclips.net/video/lGJUYGB5QGo/видео.htmlsi=OwMW927mJECvLsm8
My uncle flew helicopters in Vietnam. My cousin died there. I have nothing but the greatest respect for all who served, and I'm sorry if that was not made clear. In this video I was trying to express some optimism. Where once we found enemies, now we can find great friends.
I thought that was very clear in your video. I think you brought out that image of humanity in a unique way. Thank you. Remember the US and Japan were in a different situation at one time as well. Today differences are put aside as they should be. I hate war and what it does to people.
Veteran of the U. S. Army, 8 wonderful years. Great to see all these fine Air Force members. Gives me hope for the future. Lord, we need it. Great video!
We love staying at the Peregrine FAMCAMP. That whole area is our favorite place. Then again, I was station on Fort Carson for a few years.
Not a football fan but enjoyed the video. It wasn't really about the game.
Great video. Love the glimpse of the Air Force Academy game. We got chills just watching your video.
I'm really enjoying your College football series.
Just realized we were at the FamCamp across the street but we didn't attend the game.
I am loving the college football game videos - keep them coming...
Really have enjoyed this series of football traveling/tailgating adventures etc.!. Was tired of generator reviews, lithium battery jargon, solar panel stuff, black water problems and on an on! Do it again next season!
Great video! Glad to see you enjoying our neck of the woods. Makes me want to go stay at Bear Creek Lake SP again. We seem to take our own areas for granted and always go somewhere else.
Good to see you made it to Colorado! Can't wait to see which stadium y'all end up next time.
Outstanding - love attending games at the Academy!
Outstanding! Seeing the B-52 bomber reminds me of my childhood growing up near Loring AFB in Maine.
Love your travel this fall to football games and the area around the stadiums. I am making my list for next fall as we go to Maine
In Colorado Springs right now! Heading further south again soon as we continue to chase the warm weather.
I grew up right there! Went to Bear creek high school. We used to do our spring thaw there. Love having the Home Depot up on the hill
College football games where the teams have students who will graduate are much more fun, I think. Maybe a div.3 trip would be fun.
Welcome to my hometown. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
I hope you get to visit West Point and Annapolis too. A lot of history at both places.
Not a sports fan but enjoying these travels to the different cities that house these events.
I'm really enjoying these new videos, keep it up!
I'm sorry that you are being pressured to do RV and generator video's but I am enjoying this side of LOLOHO. It's more personal and really shows the things you run into when you are out of your normal comfort zones. I hope you will continue to make this exact type of video in the future. It they want your wiener, fart jokes and generator reviews then they can just go back into your already published videos on those topics. Love you guys and can't wait until the next video comes out.
Thanks. I’m trying something different here. I’m still holding back a lot. I don’t want to alienate our audience (and I sincerely enjoy jokes and reviews and all that stuff) but these videos are an attempt to raise the bar. I may fail, but it is interesting and important to try.
@@LongLongHoneymoon I still think that your are representing what your channel is about. You are telling a story about RVing and what you are experiencing while doing it. I mean how many how to video's can you make that you haven't already made? Who knows, you may get a whole new following with this type of video.
Enjoying the college visits.
Really enjoy the college football theme
I'd watch the football videos all day long.
I was born with a bone tool ,I didn't discover it till later.
different is good!!! thanks
Great episode, have a safe and blessed week!
As always your travel videos are Awesome, Thank You Sean & Kristi
we had fun at the garden of the gods last year safe travels
Sean, I like all your musings, observations, travel….for years….just about everything..
Thanks Todd!
I like the concept that y’all have created this season. It’s like you gave LoLoHo a shot in the arm! A Breath of fresh air! I am enjoying the trips to different schools. Parents whose children are considering these schools get a better view of the real place. Than one of those “Come To Our school! We will take your dollars!” Keep up the hard work!
I like the collage football series
Great video. Oh to be young again
I love these videos to all the football towns.
Really enjoying this series
We have really enjoyed your fall football trip! You have made each video entertaining. Keep up the great videos!
Great series of videos, keep it going
Another great vlog. I really enjoy your analogies and appreciate your perspective. Something different is refreshing. 😊
Thanks so much!
Hey guy's, long time no chat. Great video, please keep them coming. Regular TV stinks. Lol
Lol thanks Clyde! We have another one in the pipeline that I will try to have ready later this week. We are trying to post at least four more in this Collegetown series.
You were surrounded by America's TRUE HERO'S so no doubt I would feel different too, EXCITED just like y'all. We get the tailgate part, we are GA Bulldog fans and we LOVE when they play Auburn at Auburn, some of the best tailgating you will find.
Yep, honestly tailgating doesn't get any better than Auburn (this coming from a Bama fan!)/
Another great video.!!!
Such a great video! Loved your insight on Linebacker II. So meaningful. Yes, I-70 in Western Ks and Eastern Colorado can make you want to stab yourself in the eyes. The destination is worth it, though. I'm Kansan. It's a somewhat frequent drive for us. Can't wait to watch your next football video. Absolutely loving them.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your comments more than you know. I struggled with editing this video, and had a hard time, deciding whether I should share some of the emotions I was feeling at the time. In the end, I put it out there, and it was not easy. believe it or not, I lost a lot of sleep over this video. So I really appreciate your kind feedback more than you know. Thank you so much.
Air Force is undefeated and at top of their conference. I hope you went to their gift shop, fabulous. You missed Fargo’s Pizza, a famous must see place. Where next? Wyoming? Utah? BYU?
Wyoming!
As much as I love wiener and fart jokes and generator reviews, your current batch of videos is fantastic and a great diversion. Not too happy to see my San Diego State University Aztecs get wooped, but then everyone one else is getting wooped by the USAF Academy too. Say, why not make your way to San Diego and camp up in the Laguna Mountains? Highly recommend the Laguna Campground at the National Forest. You can go from sea level at Torrey Pines or Del Mar, to 6,000 feet at your campsite, then below sea level down at the Anza Borrego State Park, all within about a couple hours of each other. I wouldn't recommend living here in San Diego anymore (been here almost 60 years and pffftt!) but it's still great to visit. Thanks Sean & Kristy!
Thank you Bill, I really appreciate the feedback. Honestly, the RUclips algorithm seems to favor, product reviews, and so forth. Some of these travel videos do not get the same amount of attention and traffic. In fact, since posting travel videos, we have begun to lose subscribers. So please forgive us if we return to posting product videos in the future. But we intend to continue producing these college town travel videos for the next month. Once we have 10 episodes, we will take a look at where things stand and reassess. Thanks so much for giving them a chance.
Yes, the benefits of being in an RV at the tail gate event... Christy looked great with the tall boots and the lovely dress! The football game experiences have been fun. Your stories taking us to distant lands are enlightening too!
One of my favorite videos.. thank you for sharing.. I do have a quick question for you.. a past video you interviewed a lady who worked from her 27 ft Airstream and I noticed she used a Porsche to tow it.? Just wondering how that worked for her😂Thanks Again and really enjoy your videos😊Coco
Thanks Coco! I will.ask our friend Erin about towing with her Porsche. Honestly I think she has switched to a diesel truck. I agree the Porsche towing would be a very interesting topic!!!
I love these videos! Please keep the travel videos coming! Will you be showing us Vietnam?
Joan, thank you for your kind comments and the feedback. In January, we plan to return to Vietnam and explore more. Yes, next year I would like to do some really ambitious videos in Vietnam. I know it is a departure from some of our previous continent, but I really think, it will be remarkable. Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I think we can do some really special videos about Vietnam, and I hope you will give them a chance as you did this one. 🙏
Great but somewhat sobering video. Guys my age remember the bombings of Vietnam all too well. And yet today we are camped at Lake Conroe Texas next to a young Vietnamese couple with two absolutely beautiful young girls (4yrs & 6y I would guess) whose parents moved here many years ago. As we shared some dog park time together he mentioned they spend 6 months each in Vietnam and 6 months here in the US. Most interesting was his comment that the freedom to live the RV lifestyle here in the US made this all possible. Beautiful.
Nice! Thanks so much for your comments. I had a hard time editing this video. The painful past is sobering indeed, but I was also hoping to paint some optimism about the present and future. I am encouraged at least by the progress in Vietnam and our interactions with the people. It's encouraging that some things have really gotten a lot better. We are returning to Vietnam next year and I will probably post an update.
Really enjoying these VERY interesting videos
Glad you like them!
My son is a cadet at USAFA. I appreciate the education he is receiving while he is getting to live his dream. This campus has to be one of the prettiest in the country. Everyone should visit Colorado Springs at least once.
It does seem like a beautiful campus, and I wish we had more time to explore. Unfortunately, the famous chapel was under construction while we were there, so we were not able to visit it. Maybe we will return at some point in the future, and do some more in-depth touring of the campus itself. It is a gorgeous setting against the backdrop of the mountains. God bless your son and all the members of our military.
We got drenched when we went to the Garden also 😅
