I only use old school mits for bag work. My old coach, god rest his soul said there’s a difference between punch power and punch strength. Punch strength would be like Beterbiev, punch power would be like Tyson or Wilder. Punch strength is from strong hands and wrists so he always made us wear bag mits and even light conditioning completely bare knuckle and try to get all his young fighters to work warehouse or some labor job to develop strength that weights don’t get but definitely old school bag gloves was the biggest part of developing proper punching.
If you’re looking for a new glove to review any time soon maybe try Glitchboxing’s new gloves? If you haven’t already. I’ve seen his gloves on the net and they look pretty nice to me.
What are your favourite bag gloves ?
Phenom BM-15. They're like the Rival RB5 with better leather IMO and no mesh palm
i have a pair of pro box bag mitts in red i have for about 3-4 years and still hold up really well. i wanna get the rival rb5 but everywhere ive looked mediums are out of stock
@@GentlemanJ99 rival rb5 is trash I have them dont bother they will hurt your hands their only designed for soft bags that don't exist today
@@coachingconfidant2785 surely if you got wraps on aswell as wearing them should be alright, extra padding, extra security.
I have:
Phenom SB150 16oz Tan
Phenom 220S XRT White/Gold Rival Guerrero Intelli-Shock Undisputed
Rival RB100 White/Gold
Rival RB50 Black
Can't say which is best. Comes down to individual preference.
RB100 gives least feedback due to thick padding but protects hands well and is lighter than 16oz gloves at roughly 13oz each.
Rival Guerrero intelli-shock Undisputed amazing glove and gives more room for hand wraps and breathability compared to Phenom XRT and most like a fight glove, light in weight.
Phenom SB150 16oz just feel like pure luxury with hands well protected and best for weighted bag gloves and hitting the bag hard and protection.
Phenom 220S XRT again just pure luxury but more wrist protection than Undisputed intelli-shock and less like fight gloves than Guerrero intell-shock which also has more room inside the glove. Phenom XRT are also for me more snug and 'fitted.
RB50 only if on a budget but be sure to hit the target with your knuckles only as the D30 pad has less coverage than the Guerrero intelli-shock and if you hit with other than the knuckles, the edges of the D30 pad will get damaged and wear away fast as they are less forgiving. Also, RB50 feel cheaper than the rest but still a very good lightweight glove.l if on a budget or want a second cheap lightweight pair for bag and pads. Personally I would spent the extra and get one of the others.
Better still, buy them all and decide for yourself!!
Thats the impact fit2box channel has had on me!
Hope that helps.
