- The gt6000 GT5000 and GT3000 all use front rims with bushings that over time need to be replaced. For all the trouble they are to do you might as well upgrade.

I couldn't pre-cut the bushings so i just took a 10" punch & a real hammer & knocked the old bushings out. Saving my flatheaded screwdriver for screwing flatheaded screws : )
why not driving out instead of cutting the bushing?
Looks like a long punch placed inside to get to the other bushing and hammer it out would work.
It tends to work for both of them.
I was lucky, used a sacrificial 1/2 extension and a hammer, popped right out
You didn’t need to cut All you had to do was tap out the old bearing and put the new upgraded bearing in and don’t forget degrees it takes 10 minutes or less per wheel
Ever wonder why How to RUclipsrs turn off comments? Its because of comments like this. I point out clearly twice in the video this point and that these are way more stuck then they should be. I live in the rust belt and everything is harder to fix because of it. Thank you for the confirmation on how it should have been able to be done.
I agree with Bob. Just changed mine. No sawing is necessary.
I have the smaller spindles, they’re closer to 5/8” with 7/8” diameter for my wheels. Is there a bearing upgrade for mine? I can’t find it anywhere!
How do I find out what year my gt3000 is? The plate under the seat cannot be read anymore.
Where do you buy a bushing 3/4 to 5/8” for a front wheel 15-6.00-6 ?
Just punch those things 0UT ... !
For the first one I just utilize a 3/8" extension and a heavy hammer !
For the second side I use the same 3/8" extension, but with a properly sized socket on it, then I place the first bushing that I punched out; placed lightly back into its original bore as a guide to help keep the extension with the socket aligned vertically to ease removal of the second bushing .
Hit them hard ... !
Great how to! I can’t believe how bad the old ones were worn, especially the knuckle shaft. Bet she drives a lot better now and probably mows an inch higher ;)
Can you say 'overkill'?
3/8 extension out of your socket set. Tap out the opposite side with a hammer on both sides. Then tap in the new bearings with the 3/8 extension with a 1/2 socket attached to the extension. Grease the inside (optional). Also clean up the axle and sand paper lightly.
Thanks for the video! Just ordered some bearings for my GT5000!
Chite les domage que sa fait shaft de roues avant je vais y metre des bering sa press
thank you my friend ordered some bearings
RCG...I don’t suppose you know anything about an upgrade for a TB Bronco? The bearings featured don’t fit. It appears the OD on my wheel is 1 inch. I have been searching the internet for a .75 X 1.0 bearing but can’t find one.
Hillman Group 58106 Flange Bearing, Bronze 3/4 X 1 X 1-1/4 X 1-Inch, 4-Pack
@@redneckcomputergeek Thanks! So flange type only for the Bronco?
Depending what bushings you're using
Will these bearings work with 15x6 wheels on the same mower
yes on most they will work.
