    I just cleaned out 2 of those needle cards and put them in a magnetic needle holder. Much more space friendly. I'm actually binging on every sewing room organization/decluttering video I can find while I'm working through my mountains. lol

    Good to know I’m not the only one that has way too many pins and needles! But that didn’t stop me from buying two more packs of sewing needles this week lol. So, on to the gallon ziplock bag full and organize!

    Thanks for being vulnerable and honest about your horde of pins and needles. I have recently culled through mine and have my safety pins in 1 jar and I made the jar lid into a pin cushion, that way I can keep those all together and at hand when needed. No more digging through large tins and hurting myself in the process.

      Great idea! I have looked at them at craft fairs and online. Love those! Organizing pins and needles is time consuming and tedious. Also, you don't get the drastic results in a space that we sometimes want, but it does make life easier when it's done. Thanks for watching!

    I have too many needles after cleaning out my crafty relative’s home, not because I’ve bought them. My big plan to is to make pretty needle books as gifts. We’ll see😉

    I have just returned from being away for a week. Just catching up with your videos. I inherited a lot of pins and needles from my aunty. It's a big task for me as I am a very sentimental person and am loathe to part with anything....so I didn't. My aunty was a dressmaker when I was young and she taught me to sew. She was very organised with all her equipment and so I simply put her collection along side of mine and I will love it forever. I do have my special favourite pins, like glass head ones for when I have to iron something when it's pinned, stretch knit pins...the list goes on...you know what? I don't even feel guilty for my hoard of pins and needles..haha It's all organised.

      I can so relate to this! I did my "homework" this week, too, and found it hard to clean out my mother-in-law's pins and needles. She passed in May and was a seamstress as well. It's weird how those little things like that remind you of them. Admittedly, I kept a few tins of pins that I will never use, just because they were hers.

    I can absolutely relate. I am trying to pare down and it's so hard. Luckily I have one friend who just started quilting and she's on a limited budget so I pass a lot of things to her.

      That is perfect! Paring down has been a struggle. Making these videos keeps me on track.

    I had a tomato pincushion from when i was a young girl. It was hard and lumpy and faded. So i decided to tear it apart and use it as a pattern to make a new one. Inside it were almost 100 size 7 sewing needles! Thats why it was hard and lumpy! Does that count as being organized? They WERE all in one place! Lol!

      This is best! And yes, you are all set because they are all in one place! HA! I love this. This absolutely counts as being organized. :)

    Your collection of cases and cushions are so sweet, I understand how that happened and the duplicates! My goodness I needed that, I have gathered all those things and separated them but they want forever homes. Making a new pincushion, needle book and those lovely boxes has been niggling me for some time, I have a sewing box but I can't close it! You have hit a nerve with with this challenge 😬 and it also brings me back to the word habit both upstairs and downstairs. Thank you so much for that nudge 💖

      You are so welcome! I love that this inspires you! I still have to sort through those pins this week. It is a tedious task. We will get there together!

      @@SewtheDistance Yes and you'll be finished first 😁 I've been getting getting busy, but first I must make those pincushions you made, love them, Thank you.

    Oh the bent pins I have-once I found my favorites I stopped using all the others! Need to get more and donate the rest. I never think of donating things!

      Bent pins are the worst! Donating is the best. :)

    Lol, I double buy things all the time. What's really bad is my daughter also buys me the same things at the same time without me ever mentioning...weird. 😊

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  3 года назад

      That is really weird, isn't it? I am notorious for buying things twice (or three times--or four!). Thanks for watching!
