- We went for a nice ride today before the rain is coming in tomorrow. I wanted to get another drive by done without the baffles, unfortunately it happened on a road that was too short to go through all gears.
As a bonus I got a nice surprise from my buddy.... 👍🏻

That Harley playing with you sounded like a lawnmower mower compared to the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie sounds remarkably similar to an air cooled N/A 911 which means it sounds freaking amazing.
You’re not the first one saying she sounds like an older 911, love it! I will not tell my buddy about the lawnmower comparison though 😝

Check out this Valkyrie engine, shoehorned into the frame of a GL1000, and feed it through open carburettas from a Porche 911 then :-)

I have owned 3 Valkyrie's and have run everything from 6 into 6, Two Brothers Racing BIG straight pipes, and stock... and will never tire of the sound of my Valkyrie, even with the current stock exhaust. Nice demo :)
How does stock with baffles removed sound? Is that possible?
@@happytrails5342 I don't know... while I have run different aftermarket exhaust setups, I have never messed with the stock pipes.

A honda vfr sounds about as good in my opinion to the r1. I own a vfr so i may be biased too.

Congratulations on the new bike! You'll love it! If the pipes come with the baffles installed, leave them in and see how you like it. Good for city riding and when you open her up, she sounds amazing over 4000rpm. Then take the baffles out and hear the difference ;-)

A "pain in the ass" in what sense? Maintenance? Just ride the bike regularly and everything will be fine. There's a device out there called "DigiSync" to synchronize the carbs. Get a Valkyrie, you will love it! Regular maintenance on this bike can be done by yourself, you just have to keep riding it and enjoying it ;-)

Just picked up a set of cobras! Was there any noticeable power loss after taking the baffles out?
I got the ECT mod on the bike as well. The power loss is very minor I'd say. The concert you get is just awesome! Hoping to be able to put the bike on the dyno with original pipes and also with Cobras with and without baffles... one day...

There is no power loss with the cobras. They flow air no differently than stock. The myth that the lack of back pressure makes it lose 10 hp is false. If you get rid of back pressure you don’t lose power, you gain it.

I absolutely love it and can't imagine going back to a motorcycle tire ever again. Riding on a BFGoodrich g-Force Comp2 AS Plus, 205 55 R16, 38psi.

I wonder what it's like riding it for consecutive hours on end after the novelty of the sound wears off?
That's the thing, it never gets old ;-) I love my long distance rides and did a few Iron Butt rides as well, 24hrs of riding. Every time I start the bike, give her some throttle, it makes me smile ;-)

any other bike I've ridden besides the Goldwings I've owned. If you ride a bike for
long enough to get into the reserve every time, you figure out what's a serious highway bike and what's not

Hey, did you do a re-jet when you installed the 6 into 6 exhaust, or leave the jetting stock?
All stock. I changed the needles that came with the Cobra Kit but changed to original again. 👌🏻

@@mtguz23 I just didn't see any improvement and it felt like the bike wasn't running 100%. Switched back to stock needles and everything felt fine again.
@@vancityvalkyrie Thanks for the response - I was debating whether to get the jet kit along with the cobra pipes - maybe I'll just try the pipes first and leave the carbs alone, and if it runs fine leave it be. Sometimes less work is better anyway (pretty much always I think).
@@mtguz23 Ask 3 other people and you will probably get 3 different opinions on this topic. I put the pipes on, tried both sets of needles and went back to stock. I still have to put the bike on a dyno to see how much power I lost due to the pipes and no baffles. I don't feel a difference to the stock pipes. She takes me to where I wanna go, starts up nice every time and runs smooth. No need to fix anything that ain't broken. Cobras with baffles have an amazing sound above 4k rpm. Without the baffles it's just... so much different. I uploaded a video when I started her for the first the time after taking the baffles out. Couldn't stop smiling, hehe ;-)

@@shadowspect09 I’ve been riding a Valkyrie for 21 years now. Started out on a Suzuki VX800 in ‘98, since 2000 I’m on a Valkyrie. Riding all over Europe and since 2018 my bike is in Canada. I loved the bike from day 1!!! Now I ride it double dark and it’s even better! They are cheap, you can service everything by yourself, and they never let you stranded on the road. One alternator gave up on me, that’s it. You will get used to the bike’s abilities pretty quick and I would say, from my experience, all your riding buddies will be impressed what this bike can do 👍🏻

Yes got thems pipes on my Valk 6 into 6, cobra rule,if people are walking past when I am about to start her up I always warn them it's going to be loud,and they still jump out their skins.
People always get confused when they hear me coming, imagine an old muscle car come around the corner, and then it’s “just” the Valkyrie 😉

That "sushi scoot" is probably more American than Harleys nowadays. Manufactured at the former Honda factory in Marysville, Ohio.
