I’m a retired Harley mechanic and had a chance to ride a Valkyrie and ended buying one for $2000 with 5000 miles and I ride this coast to coast every year now with 90,000 miles still going and the only thing I’ve ever done was tires, brakes and oil change, what a perfect bike
That’s right, I haven’t met anyone that didn’t love the Valkyrie it’s such a sweet ride, I’m 67 now and never enjoyed riding as much as I do now since I’ve owned a Valkyrie
After owning and riding Harleys all my life , I bought a '97 Valkyrie. Ill always be a Harley fan , but the Valkyrie outperforms any Harley i ever had ...10 times over.
I’ve had a Valkyrie and believe me I hate myself for selling it I surely miss it I ride a Fat Boy now and Love it but I still say I should of kept my Valkyrie as a second bike 😢 👍
@michaelcaron7659 after riding this borrowed one for a month I started looking around. Just picked up a 99 interstate that’ll start showing up on the channel really soon. I’ve got some cool plans that I hope work out.
Yo Paint Can, purchased my first Valkyrie in 1997 sold it to a friend to purchase a 99 Valkyrie Interstate clocked 140,000 mi before giving it to my son. Purchased another 97 Valkyrie which I am currently riding. Just demoed a 98 Valkyrie Tourer. I'm sure this will be my fourth Valkyrie. I've been riding Motorsickles for 58 years the last 26 on a Valkyrie. Nuff Said 😂✌️😎🇺🇸. You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda Valkyrie. Keep the Shiny Side Up. SEMPER FI
I see a guy on a Boss Hoss and think why didn't you just get a Valkyrie? Much better, higher quality, lighter, better fit and finish at a fraction of the cost.
Honestly is a Boss Hoss even rideable for more than 15 minutes? Lol I liked this borrowed one so much I bought one over the winter. Road trip videos to come this summer!
I’m a bike guy, I don’t care what it is but…. Only twice have I ridden a bike that when I got off I said I have to own one. The first is my current Eluder that took 4 years to find the right one and the other is a Valkyrie. Money is currently being saved up and considering selling a couple of bikes to make it happen. My buddy Bruce is a good - bad influence here. Lol
I appreciate the honest review, I’m currently riding an 87 gl1200. Thinking about getting into a newer bike and the valkery is on my list for budget friendly used bike.
I ride a 98 tourer , the handling is the biggest attribute, grateful for the good classic body lines , growling exhaust note a 3500 rpm to 7000rpm. I'll be keeping mine as long as I can ride it.👍
A good bike is a good bike. I just traded my 2003 silver/white Suzuki Volusia for a 2022 crimson/maroon Indian Pursuit Limited. 19 years on the Volusia and nothing more than regular service (tires, batteries, and oil). The Pursuit has taken quite a long time to feel comfortable on as I've been a lifelong cruiser rider. The extra 300 pounds didn't sound like a lot as I've been riding for around 55 years, but it's been quite a learning curve. Basic instinct finally took over after I got used to the difference in weight. Anyhow, only time will tell if my new Pursuit will hold up as long and as well as old trusty Volusia. Keep the rubber against the road.
LOVE my 99 Valkyrie. I've take a Valkyrie from Houston to Vancouver and back, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again and again. Enjoyed your review. As for the saddle, if anyone has a Valkyrie I recommend looking into an outfit called "Ultimate saddle" Everyone's tastes are different but I think they have the best saddles on the market bar none. I've tried Corbin, Mustang, and Saddlemen, and they're all better than stock, but nothing beats my Ultimate, and my inseam is 32". Cheers!
I have a 2001 F6C. I have a 2003 FLTCHUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide. When the Harley is in the shop, the Honda is backup. Now that Harley went Woke, the Honda is my main stay. It's a fast bike, easy to work on (yes 6 carbs are not bad) and it gets a tone of respect. Especially now that Harley went Woke. Did I mention that Harley went Woke? You meet the nicest people on a Honda, never forget. Next bike? Boss Hoss. Ef you HD.
I’m really glad I never owned a HD this wokeness is insane! I rode this bike about 1000 miles, fell in love with Valkyries, I had to give it back and back in December I bought a 99 Valkyrie interstate.
@@Paint_Can It’s fun to ride. The original owner put truck stacks on it with a viking seat. I bored out 2 of three holes for sound on each side. Baffles don’t come out of mine. Very comfortable. Avon’s are new and I put a lithium battery in it. I put the right Kiryaken pegs on it to. Just need the cobra pipes and cobra passenger footboards to be complete.
@aristarchuscom mine was mostly stock except the cobra floorboards and a few chrome pieces. I put the cobra 6 into 6 on and left the tiny baffles in. what a difference in sound. I think it sounds better with the cobra baffles in.
Absolutely! I didn’t mean it to be a full review, just what jumped out at me after riding it a few miles. I liked the bike so much I bought a 99 interstate. If the weather ever cooperates in central New York I’ll do more videos with more detailed info on the Valkyrie line
Other sources suggest that the Valk was conceived in large part to utilize tooling and/or engines/parts from existing Goldwing production. When those engines /parts were used/sold, and a new GW model (GL1800) and its tooling was adopted, Honda moved away from the 1500.
Almost zero vibration. Unbelievably well balanced. Many people have videos of putting a coin on end on the valve cover, start the engine and rev it a few times without the coin tipping over.
Definitely not house! It’s a CB handle from back in the early 90s, driving for a construction company I took their dump trucks home periodically and painted them up. The name just kinda stuck over the years.
@@Paint_Can actually I’m not sure if I can explain the difference in tech terms or not. I only brought that to your attention because I bought a 98’ Valk about 2 years ago and joined a forum and was reading a comment someone posted saying this is not a boxer, it’s a flat 6, and proceeded to explain the difference. Lol. Valkyrie is an F6C, at least my standard model is, so, F6 being what Honda calls a flat 6. Btw, I have owned and ridden about every type and make of bike there is. My Valkyrie has them beat hands down. I have never had a bike give me so pleasure to ride in all aspects. What a great machine. The sound, and acceleration in any gear at any RPM is intoxicating. For me anyways

Thanks for watching and commenting. I’d like to address you in two parts, the Christian flag absolutely is my belief. I won’t get preachy in my videos but I do believe in Jesus for my salvation and not only am I a Christian but I’m a Christian pastor. The round blue and white SECC is the church where I’m pastor. The black and white American flag with the red stripe is a little different. In a sense but not really. I feel fortunate to have been born and still reside in a “free” country but I’m also completely ashamed of our government and its actions for at least 30 years. Whether liberal or conservative, in my opinion our leaders are dishonest and will do anything to get re-elected instead of doing what’s right for the people. So I guess if that makes me a Christian nationalist or if you disagree with me, ok 🤷🏼♂️ that’s the great part about America we have that right. It is what it is. Have a great day. 😎

My first Valkyrie Interstate was a 2000. I constantly kicked myself for ever selling it, so I bought a 2001. Life is good again.

6 into 6 and we didn't get to hear it? For shame!
HARLEY BIKES ARE FOR THAT SOUND & Brand. I cruise pass Harley’s on my VTX 1800N All day
I have a black '98 with 96k miles, still runs flawlessly.
I thought this one had 30k but it had signs of more. My buddy said it’s flipped and really at 130k. It runs great, they’re quite a machine

I actually test rode a Boss Hoss back in 2006. It's nothing but a ridiculously obnoxious poser bike.
Im not a cruiser guy but the sheer noise and muscle of this thing alone makes me want to try one.

It's a fabulous bike. It's my third Walkyrie now interstate 2001. I'm 78 now. It's the best bike I had. It's my 21 bikes I own. Thanks my friend.
‘97 was the first year. Mine’s a black ‘00 that I’ve had for 10 months. Sweet bike!

Just bought a '97 about a month ago. I had one just like it for 12 years. Great bike.

I have one

They’re a great bike, after I rode this one for a month I ended up buying one. Very enjoyable ride
It looks like a beautiful brute.
One of my buddies made one into a Chopper.Tigger RIP.😢
Yeah, it's a GoldWing engine, but it has a hotter cam and six 28mm carbs instead of the 'Wing's two 36mms, giving it 25-30% more power.

Don't forget it is the only Honda built in the USA.
Marysville Ohio
Too bad Honda stopped production. Like H.D. they have a winner & stop. Stupid crap.
