  • in this video I explain how I made this Milanese watchstrap fit my 15mm wrist, by punching an extra ridge for the clasp to ledge on to. the problem was the strap was still to wide with the clasp in its narrowest position. so:
    - I took the watch of the strap, since hammers got involved and these are poor acquaintances of watches.
    - I marked where I wanted the extra ridge to be. and placed the strap on a hard hammerable survace.
    - I took an old sturdy, yet smaller headed screwdriver with a quite narrow tip, that I had reworked for this purpose and with it I cut/hammered a beginning of a ridge in the specified location.
-I took the bigger screwdriver and used this as a punch to increase the size and depth of the ridge.
    - I kept the strap in shape as I proceeded. due to a little splaying, the strap got wider and a bit distorted. I hammered it on al sides with my rubber/plastic hammer, to keep the original shape. I bit of a distortion isn't so much of a problem, since the clasp will hide it and also this part of the strap goes underneath the other end as you wear it.
    - tested the refastening of the clasp and as soon I was satisfied I called it succes.
now, I had a rather thin and very inexpensive Milanese strap. I don't advise on this procedure if you don't want to potentially fistroy your strap. But if you take the risk, the result may be most satisfying.
