I've always said this is my "pry out of my cold dead hands" module, I immediately loved it, although it did take a few years to really figure out how to have it sit in the mix in my music and when it clicked it became such a fluid staple, I even named an album after it, Teleharmonochrome. And I'm just now seeing this video pointing at possibly many more years of exploration for me to do with it, that makes me so excited. I've always wanted to play with these ideas ever since reading about aliasing and I had the tool right under my nose the whole time. Perfect.
Whenever I read about a module and see ".... and that means no aliasing!" I'm like. "As if that's a good thing? I'm out." Ever since the 80s I've been trying to make music with aliasing and interference patterns. Thank you for not limiting my parameter needs like the other nanny state synth companies :)
Some of my synth club students gravitate to the telharmonic’s noise output. I’m gonna show them this then give them another layer to mess with. Thank you!
I appreciate all the content you provide! I don’t know much about any of it, but I know it drives the “All Hearing Ear” crazy! So I love it!!! Thanks you
I feel like I watched a class furthering my studies into synthesis and FM. This is cool and informative, things I'm familiar with already plus more insights. I think with the reverb with that noise, get some ADSR, get a nice snare drum going.
This was FANTASTIC! Thank you for all of these, Walker! Small request: pretty please pair the 0-Ctrl up with the Mimeophon-would love to see what you could do with that pair.
Hey, Walker, just wondering how this was discovered since there's nothing about it in the manual. Did Tom knew this would happen? Did you find it as a happy accident? Anyway, this is another fine example of a MakeNoise module escaping its own specifications and purpose. I've been fooling around with it and there are literally thousands of sweetspots.
The short answer is Tom knows everything. You can't pioneer sonic DSP as he has without understanding how it all ticks at a deep level. He did mention aliasing to me at some point in the tELHARMONIC's development, but it was a good couple years before I really started exploring it, and it eventually became the cornerstone of my own personal use of the tH. I have been meaning to make this video for at least 3 years. I'm sure that the way I've described it here does not rise to Tom's standards of technicality - I even cut a couple minutes from the simplified version so we could get to the goods faster :D
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! Much appreciated. For me, personally, it makes the difference between a cool voice and a must-have module.
Why has the excellent and adequate title of this video 'Quantum Foam with the tELHARMONIC' been adapted to a pretty generic and non-appealing title as the current one? I was super intrigued based on the original title and would have skipped this vid based on the current. Anyway great content, love how this shows a new application to the module, very 'atmospheric' in terms signals which associates with radio spectra and further electro-magnetic fields interfering.
Oh, Quantum Foam was just the thumbnail title, but you are right, it might make a better video title. It's hard to balance between making things easy to search for, and jumping out at the viewer. I usually opt for the former in the video title and the latter in the thumbnail, but I'm not always successful :)
Between older and newer versions of the Tel, are there (hardware) changes done? I have the feeling there is a different between them, not in sound, but in 'handling' of h-lock and d-gate...?!
I'm not really technical when it comes to this stuff. I just like music. So if you had the Black, and Gold are there things that you would replace, or add somehow?
Well, if you're asking us, we configured it the way we did because we liked that setup the best! But of course it is also modular and has space by design, so that once you've used it a fair bit you can get a sense of what, if anything, you want to change or add.

Happy patching!!

Totally agree!
Nanny state lol
@@midilyfestyle Yup. Let’s just find out what the damn’ thing can do…
Make Noise: “Why stop anywhere?”
words to patch by
Not sure about this one, i mean you could also grind it down with a flex, might make interesting noise. Could sample that with the morphagene.
Walker's tELHARMONIC-tweaking stank-face is EPIC.
Walker is EPIC!!!
Hahahah

SO glad I’ve finally found one of these, currently on its way to the UK from darkest Slovakia. Possibly the last unsold tH in the known universe!
Have fun!

OMG you've already done it! i totally overlooked it! thanks again!
slowly wakes up, opens phone, sees new Make Noise video, hits play:
~~**!!!(0)V(0)!!!**~~
GOOD MORNING!!!
and now i'm re-considering getting a Telharmo. damn you, Walker!
Totally epic, I did not know the tH could do this on its own.
It still kinda blows me away how wild it gets :)
This video has done more to make me want a telHARMONIC than anything else I've seen...
Glad you liked it!
...those last sounds , soundet like speech synthesis in a crude way... love your experiments
Thanks!
Love it when you bring in erbeverb+0ctrl! Sounds amazing😍
Thanks!

No, there's only one version

@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Well I thought that perhaps there was some affordability in the setup, and that it might not be the best with no price limit.
Cool. Looking forward to this one ;-)
amazing 😻
Thank you! 😊
i should buy a telharmonic
You should!
Did you end up getting one? Just a heads up, it's recently been retired.
Thank you! First thing I will do tomorrow when I‘m coming to my studio is "abuse" the Telharmonic in a similar way.
That's the spirit! Have fun :)
