I forgot about this feature honestly. I never utilized it so that's probably why. I'm going to test the difference between this and a colored alpha and see
Great video! Very helpful! I notice that nobody teaches how to apply lighting effects to rectangles. For example, I have an image (i.e. of lava) and I need there to be a glow above the image. I want the glow to have a gradient (from opaque to transparent). Is there a simple, clean way to do this using just Pygame? Again, thanks for touching on the subject of lighting!
Thank you for this tutorial. It is what I needed. And now that I know Pygame better, and generally Coding, I know how to implement ithis into my game. It really makes my game look more polished. I am so glad that there is at least someone that makes easy to understand Pygame tutorials. Without your tutorials, I would probably need the double amount (if not the triple,... amount) of what I needed until now. Thanks again for those tutorials. Keep doing this! :)
Hey man, really cool tutorials. Now I know where I will go if I'm having a problem with python. Earned a new subscriber ^^
Why I can leave only 1 like? I want to leave 1000 of them
Still waiting for a tutorial for 2D water 😭

That’s Crazy... you really know everything about pygame.
Dude you are awesome!!!
i love your videos
I don't understand the particle loop (line 29 to 42)
How would I go about implementing this for a flashlight?
Maybe draw a full black rectangle with alpha of something like 150, and then drawing a circle surface with a blend flag.
Thank you so much! Very helpful!

Thanks! I have never known about these hidden arguments
could this be done with polygons
I said that

Just when I think you can't amaze me further
thank you so much. implemented into my projects.
Neat! What would you advise as the best way to have a radial drop off, multiple circles would give aliasing right? (and presumably be kinda slow?)
Or can you load a pre-prepared png with alpha gradient that would blend somehow?
You just use images with the alphas pre-set.
Your videos are just AWESOME !!!
I'm really waiting for new content :)
What's the best way to support you?
Monetarily speaking, itch.io is the best option. A lot of my games are set to “pay what you want”, so you can donate there if you want.
Could you make a video about RayCasting in pygame. That would be awesome
I’m planning on it, but it’s a bit far out atm since I’m still covering some of the simpler stuff.
@@DaFluffyPotato allright, thanks for the reply.
@@-TheRealCozmik- in python/pygame ?!??!
@@-TheRealCozmik- than u should probably use a game Engine like Unity or Unreal

Can I upload any pygame project in play store?
In theory yes, but I haven’t done it myself.
can you tell me how did you get that background?
Thanks Fluffy
Hello DaFluffyPotato! Can You make please your font larger on your IDE, because when I watch your videos from my phone, I can't see anything.
Does pygame games support on Android?
It’s possible to port it, but I never cared to and I haven’t looked into it.
@@DaFluffyPotato pygame or kivy which i should learn for Android game development?
Kivy is made for that stuff, so potentially Kivy unless you already like Pygame.
Well, now Pygame supports Mobile devices (Pygame v 2.0.0)
Can you use rgba for this?
BLEND_RGBA_ADD is one of the flags
off topic, you and youtuber Lex Fridman are almost indistinguishable if we talk about voice and pronunciation :)
My voice is definitely higher, but my pronunciation seems close
What editor do you use?
possibly, pyCharm

everything is awesome but i dont understand anything so i have to copy and paste the code from the link below
Can you make a video on pygame to exe conversion and pygame to apk conversion
Pygame to apk is impossible unless you use kivy
noice
it would be great if u make a video on inventory in pygame
thats not really pygame related u just have to use a list
Watch his video on "How to implement (almost) everything in Pygame"
