Oh really!? - you are loitering at 35% throttle and your autopilot tells us that current draw is 62Amps (1800Watts :) Now "mr Dronepilot", that tells me that setup for voltage/current in ardupilot are completely not completed or totally missed before first flight and can of problems are started from there, including remaining battery and remaining flighttime and few others. That is totally rookie mistake ... fix that and carry on. Please use Clamp-on current meter when measuring and correcting current in "battery and power" section
Well, dear sir, quite a lot of assumptions there, for an individual with such an, apparently, keen eye for detail! Oh my good sir I do apologize, I would have to bring this up and ruin your New Year's eve by correcting one so faultless as yourself and your absolutely "impeccable" observational skills, but would you please be so kind as to answer this simple question - did you actually watch the full video, or did you notice this issue at some point, paused, wrote this commend, concluded you have nothing to gain from the remainder of the video because if I can make such a 'rookie mistake' chances of you being able to learn something from my video are slim to none, so left early? But on the off chance that you did finish the video, oh faultless sir, however did your keen eyes miss the pop-up note at 15:07, where I explicitly said that the current readings are a bug with the SIYI FPV app, and how... oh HOW did your impeccable hearing miss me saying that the SIYI FPV app was very bad a while back, and it still has some bugs... I mean... one look at the flight modes should be enough to clue you in! But fret not, I won't hold this against you, I will chose to chuck it down to starting early with the New Year's eve celebrations and perhaps you can't hold your liquor well and that has affected your vision and hearing already. As a matter of fact I can tell you that the power meter has been setup and configured properly with stock settings. I have not yet gotten around to calibrating it precisely, but it is showing 19% less than real consumption, though I will have to dedicate a few flights to dial that in, have not done so yet. Also, the bug is only with it showing wrong current, it is using the correct values, wrong one divided by 10, to calculate the spent mAh, so all is pretty good actually! Mission Planner is showing the correct values with the current calibration as well, so like I said, bug with the SIYI FPV app, of which I have informed them, they have confirmed that there is a problem and are working on fixing it. But thank you for educating me, with your great wisdom, on how to calibrate a power module... seems I might have missed that in the past 10 years dealing with these autopilots. And one more thing... would you be so kind as to elaborate on the "can of problems" that I have apparently started by 'rookieshly' not even bothering to calibrate the power module? Because you see... I do this a lot... and I've had a few birds where I can only see the battery voltage, and personally I never had issues in any flight by not being able to see the current readings or the spent mAh, since I know my batteries and my planes and I know what to look for in the voltage! This setup is not one of those cases, but I already tackled that issue! :P Happy New Year! P.S. Name's Nikola, a.k.a. ArxangelRC! I am not sure who this "mr Dronepilot" is, but I hope he learns from your endless wisdom!
Wish you a Happy New Year! Thanks for your videos, I am very happy that you came back with UAV related content after a (as it seems, very refreshing) break. Keep up bringing those refined reviews.
The video you're getting from this system is impressive! There definitely is a lot of great potential. Continue being constructively critical, the company and it's engineers will benefit from direct and accurate comments. I'm glad to see you back on You Tube, the quality of your content is top notch.
I am happy that I have not bought it back then and simply kept waiting for the progress. And that is looking promising at least even though you are right to say that a lot is still missing, at least if we look back over 2 years of developement cause that could mean another year waiting till they get fixed it so far that at least you are happy. I will not buy it before you are happy cause you have the passion and you are calm to live with update after update that fixes issues at least partly. I have not the patience to pay for a product that might be finished when it has arrived in my hands. I had done that when I was younger but that did not pay out . Great overview over a 24 months kind of review . Happy new year.
@@GeekBoi Personally I am not using anything SIYI for work, other than their RTK system on my mapping plane. I want to be able to use their system on that plane, but since reliability is key there, I have yet to confirm how well the system will perform in a city environment and if it will be suitable for the mapping rig! Still keeping to Dragonlink and analogue video there!
@@ArxangelRC - The MK15 we have has an older FPV Firmware (v0.2.2) that will not play with Mission Planner. Support is so far unwilling to allow an end user to upgrade that part of the firmware. Also, mysteriously, a working ZR10 (ground tests only) is no longer aiming via Mission Planner (USB into FC - not over SIYI link). Lastly, there may be some aspects of the image retrieval web service that don't work as advertised. I'm a bit burned out right now, but hopefully will be digging back into some of this later today.
@@saromarcarian4709 As far as they told me, when you update the FPV firmware you would be able to send the mavlink coming down from the model to a computer via bluetooth. I am not sure about USB, but it doesn't currently work with my version either. One option would be to send the MK15 back to them so they can reflash it for you. I opted out of that because I have the UniRC 7 Pro coming my way, and they said it has that functionality by default. Trying to flash my HM30 system to get the UDP functionality I managed to brick it, so I had to ship it back to them for repairs and reflash... got it back recently so will be mounting it on this plane for long range testing.
I was skeptacle about topotek. There are very few reviews out there on topotek camera. Can you review them as well? Btw how is the video quality of a topotek camera vs siyi. I found siyi camera output better than viewpro.
@@RaviSingh-wk7qk To be honest I can't say for sure, this was over a year ago and the point there was not to compare, but to get a system running with this gimbal. All I can say it that it did not look in a way that would stand out as being much worse or much better than SIYI. Sadly I don't have a personal Topotek gimbal. If they ever decide to send me one, as it is not in my purchasing plans, I would do a review on it.
Yes, they do have, but you need the AI module, which is a separate unit, I am not sure I will be able to link it in the comments without RUclips removing my comment, so I have just now added it in the video description so you can take a look there, right at the bottom of the description.
Interesting. It looks as if a 10x and 30x gimble would make flying really interesting. It's a shame it's only able to be used with the Siyi digital video link and not other vtx systems.
The gimbals are actually IP cameras, so any HD video system that works with IP cameras (RTSP streams), will be compatible with the gimbals, just needs some IP address setting either in the ground station or a change of the gimbal's address, which is pretty easy with the SIYI Assistant program. The ZT30 with its 3 separate streams was a pain to get working on a Windows ground station before the UniRC app due to no way to handle and show the 3 streams together existed until then, under Windows, and their version of QGroundControl did nothing!
