Finally, Princess Leia is released! And while it's pretty damn awesome, it falls short in some places. And not just height, wokka.

Having them in hand, nah. Both BS Leias look more anime and dopey eyed. But, comparing them to prior BS offerings - world of improvement. SHF takes it again.

Great add to the SHF SW Ep. IV lineup & face sculpt looks pretty much just how Carrie Fisher looked in the movie so no complaints here. Could not have asked for anything much better with the HQ hoodie-up look IMO. Cool that SHF included her blaster from the 1st scene too. Really could use an upgrade for the Jabba's Palace Leia head & wish SHF would produce that look in a fig. Thanks for another HQ review.

My Leia is on her way...can't wait! I thought it was funny when you tapped to package, Leia's alternate head danced around. Oh, and I pre-ordered my Figma Pharah figure right after your video. Plastic is goood.

Imagine a mezco mandalorian with the metal helmet metal armor plates and cloth goods that will be crazy that's like a cartoon accurate lines snake eyes
Mine arrived yesterday from Amazon Japan. I had the same problem changing the face. I’ve also found the right arm pops off really easily. Apart from that it goes straight on the ANH shelf.

WOW! I love her!
I usually agree with most of what you have to say but this time it's scary...I mean arguably 100% of what you had to say about this SHF & the eternal debate of plastic vs cloth I share the same thoughts. I don't think you can do THIS particular version of Leia look as cool as this does with cloth, but sometimes a great looking cloth cape does wonders for a character (Vader). It's true that the default face is a little bit lifeless, which is why it's cool that the 2nd face is a welcome addition. I think I'm gonna wait for an ESB Leia from SHF but I'm glad they're keeping the quality up there.

I think the face looks fine, even if the expression is a tad plain. Personally I like it much better than both of the Hasbro faces... but I don’t think the face scan one is bad though...
I hope we get another version of Leia in the SH Figuarts line sooner, rather than later.
Love it! Now someone go back and do some Cantina aliens. I know Greedo pegwarmed but we need a little Snaggle, a little Walrus, a little Hammer. Love to see a SH X wing Luke of Death Star Droid and Power Droid. Just finish the first 20! Seems though they are moving to ESB for the 40 though

Hey Robo since the hair buns are removable I wonder if you could get another black series Leia and customize it to make a new ep 4 Leia head with face printing.
I thought about that, you'd have to resculpt the hair to have a part but it's doable. Oooo, oooo, even better, just get someone to cast the hair buns. Hmmmm.
just so you know ( not trying to be like “welllll ackchually” but just so you know lol) there is some blueish grey shading :)
and a few other things
-i really don’t like the plastic they use for skin areas that aren’t the face... it is way too translucent and totally doesn’t match the faces. they used to paint the hands for figure like luke and han, which just looked way nicer in my opinion
-secondly it kind of bothers me how drastically different the skin tones are from figure to figure, i do like that they are different but it could be more subtle
all that nitpicking aside, i absolutely LOVE these figuarts figures and am so happy to have the whole group together! it’s just a feeling of ahhhh finally ( okay rant over )

Great review as always. For me the skin tone is a little too off and not lifelike enough. Traffic cone aside I think the silhouette of this figure is perfect. Looks just like Leia to me. For the likeness I didn’t think it looked like Carrie until I saw your still photos. I think that might have more to do with you being an excellent photographer than with the figure itself though.
I took about 100 more photos than that and really, some angles are good, some don't look like her at all. It's close enough for me to be happy but I'll be down to replace it if I get a chance.
Hello all , I got mine from AMIAMI... but its color is defected. The robe isnt white all around, got this yellowish mixture all over the body... almost looks like it was baked in the over :) wanted to know if there are any other people here with the same problem ?

Domestic releases are usually about a month behind overseas.
The face sculpt is off and not accutate when you compared it to the accurate Bespin Leia from the black series.

Fan freakin tastic dude! When you compared Figuarts Leia to 40th Anniv Leia it was absolutely a done deal, and there simply is no comparison! I used to think 40th Anniv Leia was de shite, now I think she looks like bantha poodoo because that's how freaking good Figuarts is!!! One is a toy, one is a hi tech tribute worthy of the adopted Senator from Alderaan! Figuarts is amazing and still blows Hasbro out of hyperspace, tho the Gap is closing - but despite the higher price, Figuarts still is the only game in this Galaxy for figures that knock your jock off. Hasbro can yank your boxers down and is doing it more often than the failed wedgies that used to be all too common, but for full on, full frontal impress-the-heck-out-of-everyone birthday suited boinginess, it's Figuarts for the Win!!!
Wish the Hasbro one would had been done in this style.... hate real fabric on action figures....

What is Bandai Spirit? Whatever it means or stands for I hope it means we get more releases.
For what ever reason Bandai has added Spirits to their name. I'm not sure if it's to differentiate departments or what, but the logo change to blue means Spirits. All I know is everything I'm interested in, like Figuarts and the models, now says Bandai Spirits, haha.
I actually like the Black series good face sculpt leia I find the face looks better than the Sh figuarts

Looks like an ok figure. I've never seen a Figuarts figure in hand but from watching your reviews and others I don't like the way they do the joints. You get the sculpted clothing and then there's this bulbous smooth piece of plastic in the middle of the joint, it's very off putting for mine.
I agree, but I'll admit I've become a little blind to that aspect. My mind sees articulation and it glosses over for me. We'd either see that or the cuts in a double joint. One day we will have that plastic skin....

Are you sure that the BS Leia you used for comparison is the second release? Looks like the jacked up first release. The second one that came on the vintage card was much better.

But I’d like to propose that the First SH Figuarts Bruce Lee figure is the closest to perfect that there is. Anyone else have a contender for perfect Acton figure?

That is tough, ever figure I look at I can pick out a nit or two, and I'm a positive as all hell kind of guy. Probably agree that MAFEX Fett is damn close though.

Lovely, but she is a bit too tall.
The face likeness is good but not quite there for me. I prefer Hasbro’s Hoth and Bespin Leia. Sadly, in my opinion we still need a definitive ANH Leia. This one looks like really cheap plastic put together. Not impressed. Good review though!
Yeah..I think it's getting way more flack than it deserves. It blows the Hasbro one out in space. That one looks like a cheap sex doll. And we certainly aren't going to get a better ANH Leia (in this scale) than this from a company.
I do agree, the Hasbro Hoth version has the better overall face.
Good looking figure but the skin tone is off for me. Too pale and lifeless. Needs some subtle shading, cheekbones, around the eyes. It's like those boring, blank black series heads that customizers work magic with. That hood is terrific though!

Oof. That is not a good likeness of Carrie Fisher. The promo pics look good. But the actual face sculpt in hand... not so much. It's decent. But the more recent Hasbro Leia face is honestly better.
