That is exactly what this Dad and son should've done. They should've come out with this story without the video recording, let the hospital and the doctor lie about it, and then release the video.
Without the video no news outlet would have taken this story up. It would have gone down as a black man playing the race card because he felt he wasn't treated right.
She is not right to work in any field that works with people from what I saw in this clip. She won't make a good cop, she won't make a good paramedic, she won't make a good fireman, she won't make a good teacher, she won't make a good customer service representative or administrative assistant, etc...
No person should EVER be treated this way seeking medical help. I am so happy they stopped this Dr. from practicing bullying because she certainly was not practicing medicine. So glad you had your dad with you and got it on video.
Naturally Micc Sadly you are right !! They should teach people manners and examen them before teaching them medicine Not anyone should have such a job because patients already have enough to deal with !!
I went to the ER because I was in excruciating pain every time I went to the bathroom. My exact words were “please help me I can’t bear this pain anymore” Young Persian female ER doctor at Cedars. She did a scan and found nothing and told me “I don’t believe you. I think you’re a drug addict looking for pain meds.” It turned out I had ovarian cancer-a tumor on my left ovary the size of the cantaloupe. I ordered a copy of the scan and at the bottom of the report it said I had a 13 cm mass on my left ovary and should be referred to a gynecologist. I have zero respect for doctors.
I believe this because I have endured years of medical abuse as well. I have years of experience as a former medical administrator and would have advocated for this man and his rights.
I used to work at a nursing home and yes you are right you see it firsthand...the sad thing is that nobody can do anything about it.. it's just I feel so sad for the patients because they cannot do anything about it.. it kinda even makes me scared getting older and how I'm going to experience this .I hope I never have to
A doctor doesn't necessarily care about each patient, they should at least care about doing their job well, healing , and not abusing patients. Just do your freaking job,do it well, and be a decent human.
@Mastery Killer She shows signs of drug abuse. Her twisted thinking and erratic behavior, nasty temper. That will be her defence. Medical professionals have a high rate of drug abuse.

People tend to put doctors on a pedestal, but the reality is that doctors are not different from people in other occupations. There are kind and evil people in every job. This isn't anything new. I was an EMT years ago, and i couldn't believe how nurses and medical Drs treated patients with such disrespect. It was mostly towards patients that were frequent visitors that we would bring in. I remember one male nurse was mimicking a homeless guy we used to frequently bring in because he talked funny. I looked around and all the staff had a smirk on their face, but the patient didn't realize it. I was disgusted by the lack of professionalism from everyone. They clearly didn't care about this guy. He ended up passing a year later due to health problems. Another instance I still remember to this day... I hadn't finished my EMT course yet, but one of the requirements was we had to spend two 12 hour shifts in the ER. One of the days, a concerned couple came in because their toddler had gotten underneath the sink where all the cleaning supplies were, and had somehow chewed on one of those toilet cakes that you put in the top of your toilet that cleans everytime you flush. I was sitting behind the desk with all the nurses, and all they were doing was bashing the parents hardcore how they could just "let" their child get a hold of cleaning supplies. Personally being behind the scenes, it's insane the things they say about their patients.
@@sorrowfulvixxx Your guess is absolutely wrong. I have plenty of times. I've taken it up plenty of times with the boss about unprofessional conduct within the work group. They should absolutely be taken more seriously, even if they come in frequently. I'll repeat, nothing changed. I still had to witness the same toxic nurses every week. So I eventually quit. I did my part. Just because I didn't post it, didn't mean I just stood by. I hate bullies. Thank you also for the assumption as well
@TheAshcrafty my aunt became a nurse and saw the same thing, as well as how many protocols and procedures get "overlooked". She told me a lot of things. She also tried to do something about several different issues, which just resulted in her being labelled a trouble maker and nothing changed. They all lie to protect themselves so one person has no chance of changing anything. She ended up leaving after only a few years as she found that, while some hospitals are better than others, they're all pretty foul. She also became a huge advocate for family and friends being around as much as possible as that usually means you get better care as they know people are watching them. Obviously that didn't apply in this case though,

As a person who works in healthcare… I have thoughts on this. Are there bad people in healthcare? Absolutely. I work with some people like that. But, the reason we have bad healthcare workers is because they don’t have other jobs available to them that pay enough to live. Also, working in the American healthcare system is so brutal that sometimes you just can’t take it anymore. Hard to explain, but healthcare not being a right people have creates so many issues for everyone. What this woman did was obviously wrong, but when I look at this video I see the result of a system that doesn’t work, not an inherently bad person.

I think tough love is exactly what this patient and patients like him need. We are seriously talking about this situation because this young man was hospitalized for being too anxious. What’s upsetting to me about this story (among countless other things) is that he suffered from a panic attack and was treated like a drug seeker. Sure, once the attack is over it’s almost something to look back on and laugh and say “glad it was nothing”. But for some people they develop serious repeat attacks and become disordered. They’re debilitating. Panic attacks are something every doctor should take seriously because on arrival to the hospital you HAVE to rule out heart attacks, stroke and embolism. Then you treat the panic attack and refer the patient to a mental health specialist. Panic attacks aren’t a joke, they’re a real and scary condition that can ruin peoples lives if left untreated and disregarded as nothing.

The first form is Uticarria Pigmetosis, which I was born with; the second form is Systematic Mastocytosis, which I was diagnosed with at the age of 22; the third form is Mastocytosis Sarcoma, which is cancer of the mast cells. I can get that at any time! I see a oncologist twice a year, to be checked out and hopefully I never develop the cancer. I know more about my health and the disease I have, than anyone else! When a doctor comes into my hospital room and proceeds to tell me about my disease, I shut them down right away. I let them know that they can’t know more than I do, because I’ve been living with this disease from day one! They couldn’t know more, because they only read about it in a medical book, I live with the disease every day, 24/7. I explain how my life is and what I’ve gone through throughout my life. They listen closely, because I don’t like to repeat myself! For the last 30 years I’ve been teaching medical students about the disease I was born with! I explain exactly what my life was like as an infant, toddler, little girl, teenager, young lady, woman and now as a senior citizen. I tell them everything that I’ve gone through, the good, the bad and everything in between! I teach over 4 days and by the time I’m done, they should know everything that I know about Mastocytosis!! There are many times that I’ve stayed, after teaching the students, because they have so many questions! I answer each one of them and I also explain my emotional health throughout my life, because when a person has a very rare disease as I do, they can suffer from depression and other mental health issues. I totally enjoy teaching medical students and if I was asked to do it more than 4 days a year, I’d jump at the chance to teach them even more!!

I had a deadly abscess form in my throat and it closed my airway. I went to the ER freaking out and crying from the pain.

She ended up leaving after only a few years as she found that, while some hospitals are better than others, they're all pretty foul. This treatment also happens quite frequently by pharmacists. It’s totally uncalled for. I’m sure they see plenty of patients that are seeking medications, but not every patient is. And even the ones who are shouldn’t be treated like garbage. They obviously need help. I was under the impression that’s what doctors were for…help.
exactly. spot on.
Here is just a quick truth . I took my husband to the hospital a couple of months ago . He was in escrtisating pain from his stomach through to his back . Also his blood pressure was dangerous . They ran tests , you know .... chest xray , be general . Long story short and into more than half the night , meds lowered his blood pressure , and they offered him tylenol . He said No . He told him he hurt so bad that he couldn't stand himself . We decided to go home . But , I told the doctor I wanted to see his chart before leaving , Up at the top , it said DS . Drug Seeker . Then my BP went up . We went somewhere else and he had pancreatitis . Ok there's my rant .
@@ginabarbee1404 a similar incident happened to this same friend. His doctor was retiring so he was seeing several doctors so he could find a new one. At this point, he was on quite a high dose of pain medication so it was difficult to find a doctor to even see him. He had an appointment with one of the new doctors that was considering taking him on. He happened to be in excruciating pain that day as well & told the doctor. His eyes & skin had a yellow tone & I was very concerned. The doctor ignored all that & was only concerned with the medication he was on. We were only a half mile from our local hospital, so I brought him to the ER. He ended up having emergency gall bladder removal surgery. The surgeon told him that he would’ve been dead within the hour had he not gone to the hospital. He spent 10 days in the ICU. I’m glad your husband was able to get the help he needed. It’s really sad that the medical field has turned out this way. Wishing you & yours safe, happy & healthy days ahead. Thank you for sharing your story with me. 🫶

That was my thought as well. Here's the shitty part, while she is banned from EL Camion Hospital and its' affiliates, she can easily move out of the network and find gainful employment somewhere else. For some reason the logistics of hospital networks being able to talk to each other is almost impossible. Unfortunately, people seeking medical attention for ailments that are not physically detected, or have multiple visits that end up being treated with narcotics will face an uphill battle in seeking proper treatment. On the bright side of things she is close to, if not already on her way to being morbidly obese and sounds like a candidate for future visits to a respiratory clinic.

I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks my whole life and never knew what it was until I explained to a doctor one time how I felt mentally and physically. That's when I found out what I was suffering from. Not a very nice feeling. Very scary.

Her actions are a fireable offense you can't treat patients like that. She won't lose her license will be suspended but the hospital is following protocol and everyone who works in the medical field including myself know the stakes from the start.
so why is there 3 periods.
I'm sorry but you would better understand if you worked in the medical field. Yes I do agree that her bedside manners were very bad, but you have to look at it from her point of view. She sees it as a patient who doesn't need anymore care because it's a mental thing. (Panic attacks are mental things, I know because I used to have them all the time so if someone says that I haven't had them, stfu.) Nurses all over the country are overworked, understaffed, live in fear of losing their medical license, and other things. She was probably stressed because of her job, she has to deal with trauma patients, drug seekers, and other people. She probably thought he was drug seeking, but idk. Plus we don't truly know the full story. No I don't think she should lose her medical license, but she should get a warning and the next time face disciplinary action, unless she's done it before. You're just going by the video, you don't know if they aggravated her to do that. Appropriate action would be her license being suspended.
What's awful is that there are many others like her who are still out there and actively working.
Even if the patient was 100% faking it and being extremely annoying, they are still trained to handle situations like that and have NO excuse to act like that. Wow.
Violet Sunshine -Why are you saying..."Even if he were 100% faking it and being annoying "? What did you see in that video about the patient that would cause you to write, what you wrote????? Here is a young man who had a severe panic attack! Panic attacks can be very debilitating and that could have been why he could not sit up. This doctor was just a mean, callous, bigot. I wouldn't want you or anyone else for that matter to have to deal with a person of her character. 100% faking it, indeed !!!! My word !!!! Are you related to this fool ?
Joyce Dauzart Can you not comprehend what the person said? He/she is not claiming the person in the video is faking it or being annoying, they are saying that even IF (notice the "IF") someone was faking it and being annoying the doctor should still never act that way. Use your damn brain before you jump to conclusions.
Not only that lots of times it may be psychological so she should still treat with respect and reserve judgment
Violet Sunshine yes indeed
I think tough love is exactly what this patient and patients like him need. We are seriously talking about this situation because this young man was hospitalized for being too anxious. He didn't get the treatment he expected over a anxiety attack. The reason his "health problem" was not addressed appropriately is because he needs to go see a therapist to work out his emotional issues. Not an ER doctor. Use logical thought over emotionally charged thoughts.
I have stage four cancer in my bones and went to a local hospital here in Las Vegas when my cancer pain was beginning to get to much for me to handle. I was also treated like a drug seeker. Next thing I know I get a call saying my grandpa has a busted face. I didn't know what to think since we tried getting him a chair that was safe, but comfy.
Sadly he laid on the floor for 2 HOURS before someone came and found him. It's sickening how people react sometimes. Sadly he passed in 2018 in October.. But sometimes I still think why did the nurse just not care? It was horrible because I'm pretty sure it happened 2 times.
He already had to have lost memory on how to walk, how to talk, and his face was dropped... I still wonder, why did he have to fall then?

Nivya,
I’ve had a few doctor’s that were rude and arrogant, but never like her! I was born with a very rare disease. When I was born, (in 1958) there were only 24 people who had the disease I was born with. None of them were born with the disease. Doctor’s don’t even know how the people got the disease. To this date, I’m the only person born with this disease! There are 3 forms of the disease.
