Dude. I've been playing this game since launch, and WoW as well. It's been wild watching all you guys finally play the game and validate the things I've been saying about it forever. What is even wilder is that it took this video for me to finally bite the bullet and install GShade. HOLY CRAP! what a difference. Too anyone going with Bellular's preset recommendation though, I would try the preset just above adventurer in the list named neneko absolute. See if you don't like that one better than adventurer, I found adventurer preset to put too much glow on light sources, so much that it obscures colors and details.
Thanks for this, I like it but performance to a bit of a hit for me with it, more then I thought it would actually, I run a 5700xt and it dropped me from 143 fps to 70. So I found using the neneko vanila pop preset was a great upgrade with little performance hit (like 10fps)
@@Atigeve yea, each different preset will make a diff impact. I keep my frames locked at 60 to match monitor refresh rate. So I will tolerate my frames as long as they stay at 60. @@Atigeve The Pop one is definitely a solid option. I went and tried all the neneko ones yesterday. Those two were the only ones that didn't alter the color tint drastically for me. The others put kind of a red hue over everything I found.
Been playing for 5 years and this is the first time I've had any desire to use gshade! Just having the simplicity explained and stuff has been a huge help!
It really is. The funny thing is that I didn’t know I needed gshade till I saw this. I always felt like something was off with ffxiv visuals. Now I’m fully convinced that it was just the colors that need some tweaking.
Well I started using Gshade on my old computer because i could lower the ingame graphics and instead make Gshade make the lower graphics settings more appetizing, which resulted in a nicer looking game with decent framerate. On my new computer however... lol, I've just gone ham with it xD
there's alot more then just gshade, check ff14 mod archives out. It has high res textures for older armor models in the game so they look like they were made yesterday. Like the drachen mail mod that adds 2k textures to the level 50 job armor for dragoon!
Oh my thank you! I was always bummed at how muted the colours were and after 2 minutes fiddling with GShade? It looks AMAZING! The night sky is SO FULL OF STARS!!!
The color grading out of the box isn't neutral though, it's a green hint. There are numerous reshade mods that fix only that. For anyone who can't sacrifice more fps. Can't unsee that green filter change after.
I recently got G shade. A friend recommended a particular preset and it's lovely. It makes the lighting more dynamic and the night feel darker without feeling blue, and the lighting pop without hurting your eyes.
Tbf I think most mmos use that desaturated look because you're supposed to look at it for hours and it can get tiresome fast. I think it way more comfortable that way, but I do turn on gshade for some pictures or even for some cutscenes. When I look at some streamers setup when you can't even see AoEs because of how bright it is I think there's a problem also. Great video nonetheless! Always good to inform and give more tools for better screenshots from people.
@@JackgarPrime It doesn't get overwhelming at all, you can adjust things to your liking very easily like he said in the video. If a preset is too much for you, try another. If one is ALMOST perfect, mess with the settings in the pop up window until it's what you want. You can see the changes live, no constant restarting or anything.
I thought that too at first but there's so many presets for "gameplay" that are just as easy on the eyes as vanilla but make a big impact. I play on a more demanding shade but can't imagine going back. Of course to each their own.
That is truth, I love Gshade, but turned out i only use it now today for screenshots, as I don't have more cutscenes to watch and having gshade during savage is well, useless
i thought the same, Neneko Adventurer is too much for me, but trying others presets i found one that makes the color pop and characters look better without blinding.
Holy shit! This made such a high difference in game on my LG B9!!! I was before just using the adaptive sharpening which made a big difference but this… this is god tier. THANK YOU!!!
Espresso Glow's "Shb gameplay" preset is my go to, it keeps the everything vanilla while only making colors from the game pop and removing the AWFUL green filter. It dosent tank my fps either thankfully.
Personally I use ReShade on most everything. I've noticed that quite a lot of games benefit from its usage-I boost color/saturation, and increase sharpness to make textures look less muddy.
The Nvidia game filters are awesome. you can get a LOT of change out of them for basically zero performance hit. Cant remember who did a guide on it but there are several on youtube that also give settings you can use that enhance the picture without feeling like you are straying from the devs vision of the game.
The main problem I have with things like gshade, is that the settings are never very good for all situations. They're good at making certain scenes or situations look really good for a short period of time. To get the best use out of it, You kind of need to make multiple presets, and toggle between them based on your setting. One big negative to amping up post processing (it shows in this video even) is that it plays hell on shadows. In some narrow situations it increases certain things like jawline definitions, but then in many other situations, the facial features can be completely lost in shadows. Most of the time, increasing saturation even a tiny amount makes a lot of stuff look a bit blown out. Unfortunately the moment you turn it off after your eyes have adjusted to the oversaturated look, it makes everything seem even more drab and washed out than it really is.
Messing up shadows is honestly just too much MXAO. Post-processing MXAO is never going to be entirely accurate, so if it bothers you it's best to just leave it off. The game actually has nice lighting sometimes... then other times it's awful. They got a lot better about softer lights as time went on.
@@azolvi3473 There's nothing to fix. Some effects simply take more processing power. You can just turn them off if you have a less powerful build. Just like you have to turn off/down some settings on a game. The whole idea is you can customize what you want. So it's hard to make any real blanket statements about performance because every preset is going to be totally different.
I've been using GShade for three months and I wasn't aware of the toggle button. It is shocking seeing what vanilla looks like once you've gotten used to the vibrancy GShade can give you. Even if it's not right for everyone the vast amount of options and user friendliness are just a delight to have.
I enjoy playing around with Gshade. It's fun to see the game transform, especially when you look at the crazy stuff. There's Gshades that changes the colours to match the Final Fantasy logos, so the green/mint green of FFVII, the red / orange of FFVIII, etc.
Actually I think Yoshi-P said something about that in his interview with AnnieFuchsia (released today?) that the neutral tone of the game is his personal preference but he said he'd look into that when she asked if it's possible to make things like hair color more vibrant
Cheers for letting me know about this. Choose same filter as you but had to turn the blur way down cuz my eyes cannot deal with any kind of blurring. So now my Elezen Paladin looks a lot nicer.
Auto HDR on Windows 11 with a HDR TV/Display adds a lot of color and contrast that really makes the game pop as well. The two big things I notice are the vibrancy of colors (especially the icons on the hotbar) and the darkness of night that actually makes it feel like night.
When i use gshade and add contrast during regular gameplay, my eyes get tired fast, the neutral color of ffxiv really helps so everyone can enjoy without getting a headache from the contrast after just 30 min or 1h of gameplay. Though i wish the gshade was an ingame thing, because the game can look so much more gorgeous if they just let it happen, it should be a canon option to chose to mess with graphics filters or not.
You nailed it. I played around with GShade and maybe I gotta mess with it more but it caused me to check my NVIDIA Filters and I just turned on Sharpen and the game looks way better. I have a 2060 Sup. Might mess with GShade some more but for now the NVIDIA filter is working just fine.
SE's view towards mods seems to generally be that as long as it doesn't start causing problems, they will look the other way. As long as no one tries something that does lead to issues, things like Gshade and even ACT will probably be tolerated.
Unfortunately, "improving" the graphics would mean basically rebuilding their spaghetti code engine from the ground up, or _adding even more spaghetti_ to it. Though, the team has reiterated time and time again that they care about stability and accessibility *above* graphical fidelity.
So FFXIV will never get a graphical update? I am really hoping for an update with the expansion after Endwalker. I don't think the game looks bad, I actually think the graphics look fine... But I think the game still needs to have an update in graphics if it really wants to go on for another 10 years.
I love Gshade, but recently I actually decided to enable my HDR and tweaked my colors in the nvidia dashboard. It gives me amazing colors with absolutely no impact on gameplay. I’m getting between 80(packed out Limsa) and 120(vsync’d) with my 3080 on maximum settings. The colors on my UI look better as well. It’s a little more technical but it’s definitely worth it if you’re big on FPS like myself.
You are quite right about the ability to separate and view details has a lot to do with color and contrast, in Psychology we call it JND (Just Noticeable difference.) meaning if you have 1 candle and add another candle and you can see right away its double the brightness, but have 100 candles and add one more and you just don't see a difference, so when something is washed out especially at a distance your eyes and brain have to try and compensate to see the detail, sometimes this makes sense though such as when you have fox which FFXIV does amazingly, same with Snow I have not seen any other game do environment effects as well as FFXIV has. On thing that's fun to do is turn on the pose shot mode and enable lighting effects especially in a dungeon or raids and there is so much there to see that you don't see normally because of things being darker and gshade and other filters can effect the walls of a far away wall as well or properly, also turn off distance blur. It's a fun trick to see your character so much better and all the detail of your gear and to see distances better in some locations and fights (you cant game with the lighting effects on but do it before to see the area better and get a better idea of how its laid out) Some times the issue is the creators want to wash things out, such as some places in ShadowBringers but its specific locations that do that for the effect of the story but over all I agree with you.
I use a shader called Vibrant (Gameplay). Gives much deeper, more vibrant colors and some better bloom without hitting the framerate too much. I love the comic and sketch presets as well. They're really unique for screenshots. I'll have to look up the Naneko ones. I haven't seen those yet. Edit: I tried that Adventure one and it looked a bit washed out for me. I like the more vibrant colors, so I took my Vibrant gameplay set and tweak it with more bloom, clarit and the hdr settings. Took like a 20 fps hit, but still getting around 90 and it's gorgeous.
2 bits to add: -1: You can get rid of a lot of ground and foliage shimmer by setting "Negative LOD Bias" to "Clamp". With an Nvidia card: Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings>Select FF XIV: A Realm Reborn>set Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias -2: Another big reason for the grapical quality was due to supporting the PS3 until Stormblood. (Which they gave free upgrades to the PS4 version when they stopped supporting PS3)
I can't even turn off my Project Crystal Gameplay gshade anymore, it's just gorgeous. Makes everything so vibrant. I found the incredible noir film-like Gshade City of Sin to take screenshots in Ishgard, and one that just makes everything a little more glowy and sepia called Gshade Deus for places where it's snowy or raining. There are gshades that add the cinematic bars that make screenshots look like they're from a movie, gshades that add this overlay on the background that makes it look very surreal and magical (Fairy Ardenvald Light), you can do some incredible stuff.
As someone who enjoys GShade, but can see a few people who aren't interested in the presets shown here, I'd like to share a few I'm fond of! Personally, I don't like Neneko presets as much, primarily because they tend to be very "crunchy" on dark skinned characters (DepthSharpen is the main effect that causes this) and have some heavy shadows that I'm not big on. My favorite shaders are the ones under the Yomigami_Okami folder. I use a slightly altered Okami Gameplay for typical gameplay, I like it for not being too dramatic while still giving the game that "boost" I like. The screenshot presets are really nice, and compatible with darker skin. They tend to be very crisp. Also, my personal favorite NieR:Automata based shaders are in there. Maya presets are also very fun, and there's an entire line of presets that is specifically designed to be compatible with dark skin. Maya presets trend towards more colorful, pink/purple looks, but not all of them are like that. I used to use Maya Happiness Gameplay. For people who like low-impact, close-to-vanilla presets? Ipsusu wins by a country mile. Barely impacting performance, there are presets for gameplay, gameplay but prettier, and screenshots. They give the game that nice boost and bit of depth without heavily changing the look or colors, and you have different options! Warmer, cooler, softer, closer to vanilla... If I'm taking reference pictures, Ipsusu is my go-to. Of course, there are plenty of options! Best thing to do with GShade imo is aggressively checking out presets and seeing what you like.
I've been playing around with GShade and I have to say, the difference is immediately noticeable if you apply a bit of HDR and some coloration shading. Makes for a more vibrant game where the textures pop.
Even if you don’t want to use something like GShade to improve the color and lighting effects, simply adjusting the contrast slider in the system settings menu can help tremendously in improving the game’s visuals
@@Xerkrosis Oh noo. I tried that, its so stuttery. Most of the time I got 120 Fps. 80-90 Fps is the lower end. But I didn't know the fact about the animation stuff. :D Thanks for that.
@@Syntarex Yeah, it also took a lot of time for me to get used to it. 144 fps is like day and night, especially when turning/moving. 144 you can still recognize everything, 60 it's suddenly a blurry mess. But still, seeing the hair or clothes move more is quite a treat. Boob jiggle is also nice. :)
Wow players think that cartoony artstyle equals a timeless look that never gets dated... sure new zones in wow looks good because it's made recently, but look at vanilla wow and tell me that has aged well?
That's pretty much a nail on the head. People who have played WoW since it came out will always come to its defense in its style - quite literally foaming at the mouth almost. I find the look to be very childish; that actually alludes to the reason why I gave my Nintendo Switch to my stepson. I just didn't find the same joy in the cartoony worlds that Nintendo likes to create, and that's OK. I do think WoW needs to "grow up" a bit in that sense. When Sylvanas commited mass genocide of the Elves, it seemed almost... idk, childish again? Genocide isn't supposed to feel that way.
Compared to other games it has aged better. The more realistic you go, the faster your game's visuals age. Another example is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. That game has aged incredibly well. Also you have to remember original WoW was played on big old monitors by many at standard definition. So the textures and the low polygon count stand out more than in the past.
Thinking that a cartoony look = childish is a very shallow complaint to have. Subjectively not liking it is fine. Saying that it is objectively bad is not.
OMG thank you! I was hoping that some of the issues you point out would get fixed with Endwalker, and while it's better I still want more. This looks like it can fix my biggest issues with the graphics, going to install it right now.
Gshade, given its user customizable nature, is entirely dependent on your settings. So many people blow out the game with intense contrast, DoF, and blur. Less is more imo, when it comes to gshade. Not to mention it can bug out certain textures and effects too.
Yes! Was going to come here to say the same thing, less is more For gpose and cutscenes it’s fun to get wild with it but for gameplay a touch of colourfullness, clarity, maybe a couple other things go so far. People have a tendency with post processing in games, to blow it entirely out with bloom and over sharpening.
I have a really low opinion of Gshade because of every picture of it I see is just way too much. It's the difference between someone with a lot of skill taking a picture and someone throwing on random instagram filters.
Yeah, I agree with both of you. Gshade is a good tool that many people misuse or don't know how to properly use. That and I honestly feel many of the popular presets are terrible. Just look at the scene here for example: 4:35. The whole tone of the zone is changed and the bloom is blown out causing detail such as the stained glass window to be lost.
I tend to add a little sharpness, colour saturation and contrast just to enhance the overall visuals. The game looks good anyway so with GShade it looks amazing.
@@Verd254 That scene at 8:40 is terrible too in my opinion. It looks like the characters got added it post production. It does not look natural at all.
Thank you for sharing this Bellular! I got Gshade today with the same settings you mentioned in the video, man didn't know FFXIV could be even more prettier!
From my understanding looking into mods for FFXIV and SE's stance on the matter; they say using 3rd-party software is 'Ban-able Offense' really just so they can bring the hammer down on cheaters and other people that ruin the game for others. But if what you're doing only affects your game, with things like textures and visuals, then they don't care.
They confirmed in a thread quite a while ago that they don't mind people using gshade/reshade, but if the developers of reshade put something in that is a gross violation of the tos that you are responsible for installing it and the ban will fall on your head. Apparently the whole "no mods allowed" thing is because a celebrity was playing the game and someone using a damage meter publicly shamed and harassed them in game so hard they logged out and quite playing, and they don't that to ever happen again. Understandable, to a certain degree.
This is the rabbit hole, and G-shade is just the beginning. Lots of work has gone into other supplementary visual upgrades, especially on the model and texture front. If Bellular gets a chance to try out the upgraded character textures, I think it would take his MSQ experience more than a couple steps above it's current quality. I only discovered them after MSQ but altogether (G-shade and texture mods), it often makes the cutscenes look as though they are from a game that came out in the last 3 years as opposed to one from the first half of the last decade.
I forgot what the vanilla FF looked like, I use the vanilla enhanced it simply adds a little extra to the default looks of the game but I may check out the ones you mentioned.
I'm using Neneko's Breath of the Wild myself, the Adventurer you're using has a bit too much of a pinkish hue for me personally. But I'm glad to see you enjoying Gshade
I've been googling for the longest time trying to find where to download more presets. Where do you find them? Specifically the Breath of the Wild one?
@@GamingFoodie in GShade there's two dots at the top of the list that lets you get out of the base folder. as for downloading more, you just have to fish around for them.
I always love seeing what people use as defaults for themselves, for me I love Witches Spell (and not just for edgy name) and I've changed what my 'main' is a lot over the year or two of playing. My main issue is I love the shade presets but the base game has some very high lighted/dark shadowed areas that I turn off my shader to check and I'm like ah no this is a game scene choice keke.
I don't use G-shade because after seeing the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS, I value the higher FPS far more than the reshading. How smooth everything moves at higher frame rates is life changing.
It doesn't have to be one or the other. If you have a nice system, try the shader called "Project Crystal Gameplay" - used during actual gameplay with unperceivable impact on performance. You'll get a better image while keeping the awesome framerate. If you don't like it, you can simply uninstall it completely, or keep for use for gpose/screenshots (shift-F3 will toggle it on/off).
No, I'm not going to toggle it on or off, consistency matters more than being able to pretty up my gpose to post on twitter. I've seen that shader, its not an unperceivable impact and it doesn't improve the graphics significantly enough to warrant its use. Things work on different set ups so don't assume my specs. I can barely hit 80 in towns, sometimes hitting 40, and having that shader on would tank my Limsa and Hunt performance. It wouldn't matter in dungeons and raids, but then I'd notice the visual difference and it would break immersion switching from one set of shaders in instances and another outside of it.
Oooh, thanks for the tip. I'd been shuffling around for one that doesn't cause the FPS to drop by 5 to 10 frames, and this one seems to fit that bill perfectly.
Yohsida himself mentioned during a Q+A (sometime around... late Heavensward if I remember?) that he doesn't particularly like parsing tools, while he understands their use, he thinks they cause more issues between players than they help. And yeah talking about parses or giving someone crap for a poor parse ingame can net you a ban. I know a ton of people in my FC alone that use quite a few visual mods and seems the general response is that if it doesn't affect gameplay, then they aren't interested in chasing it.
Thankfully the game is pretty well optimized for console already and looks GORGEOUS on the PS5, even on my dated 1080p TV (hoping to get a 4K eventually with HDMI 2.1, preferably from SHARP) Also worth noting, some years back - I wanna say during the Stormblood previews - YP talked about a possible update to the game's graphic engine, and in that bit he actually said after we go to the moon (jokingly at the time) but more seriously, likely around 7.0 Seriously, none of us thought he meant we'd literally go to the moon but here we are at 6.0
I wish you shared your preset because the default is nothing like yours and after some tweaking I still can't get the same look :( I know this is over a year late, but I really hope someone can help me with this

Thank you! My presets are all totally free and included in GShade! However as a general advice I suggest you to Never buy presets around! The very few (thankfully) that I saw for a fee or on patreon were Copies of the free presets from GShade... lol
I had no idea the game could look this good. Using Project Crystal Gameplay shader and it is amazing on my setup. Thank you for making a video on this!
i really went apeshit with this game to make it really look nice i use gshade and textools for hd replacement mods. it looooooks better than anything, only downside is its GPU hungry so i had to cut my max fps from 100 to 60.
I don't change the colors much, a very very low saturation buff and a few things to improve the contrast on darks. I mainly add a DoF, improve AA and other base post-processing stuff so that it looks pretty faithful but overall "cleaner". It does look good at first, but over time you realize just how much detail super high contrast/vibrance filters can just totally erase since the game assets aren't intended to be displayed like that. To each their own and all, but for an always on shader I always prefer to focus on enhancing how the base game is color mastered rather than replacing.

Can't unsee that green filter change after.
the cringe over the original colours every time when Gshade needs an update
I recently got G shade. A friend recommended a particular preset and it's lovely. It makes the lighting more dynamic and the night feel darker without feeling blue, and the lighting pop without hurting your eyes.
What's the preset?
The XIV community is so creative. I love how the game has so many cool communities that do stuff like this :D
positive = créative no one can be creative under stress
You do realise this was thing waaaay before ff14 right? First it was Sweetfx and later Reshade. Gshade is basically Reshade with a tweak or 2.
Ipsusu's presets are also very nice for little performance impact.
Yeah I think if I were playing my game with something like gshade on constantly, it would get overwhelming.
This is the one I use too, with a couple of tweaks (which I've saved as a custom preset now) just to add a slight bit of cross-processing.
Personally I use ReShade on most everything. I've noticed that quite a lot of games benefit from its usage-I boost color/saturation, and increase sharpness to make textures look less muddy.
Seems this is a version of Reshade made specifically for FFXIV and Star Wars TOR
I use the nvidia filters. Press alt+z and you'll get the nvidia menu to apply game filters. It doesn't have a performance hit that is noticeable.
I am an FFXIV vet since 2015 and I never knew about GShade. Thank you so much for getting the word out!
The Nvidia game filters are awesome. you can get a LOT of change out of them for basically zero performance hit. Cant remember who did a guide on it but there are several on youtube that also give settings you can use that enhance the picture without feeling like you are straying from the devs vision of the game.
"Desperius FFXIV" talked about it if it's the guy you're looking for
The main problem I have with things like gshade, is that the settings are never very good for all situations.
Or you could, you know...... calibrate your monitor?
Messing up shadows is honestly just too much MXAO. Post-processing MXAO is never going to be entirely accurate, so if it bothers you it's best to just leave it off. The game actually has nice lighting sometimes... then other times it's awful. They got a lot better about softer lights as time went on.
@Spacellary Gshade also tanks your frame rate, especially if you dont have a top of the line build to handle that. They need to get that fixed.
Not true at all...
37k subs. 71k views in 14hours. You guys are killing it with the new channel. Super excited for this new channel.
Neneko's are fantastic, my favorite is Neneko Essence Gameplay since I generally don't enjoy the yellow tone in the game so much
I really like this one 10:33 her glam/mount/preset is just blended in together so perfectly
With Gshade being gone, what sort of reshade setup do you use now?
ive been using the nvidia filters to add more color and contrast. works great
You nailed it.
I use Gshade too. I just recently got it. And wow what a difference. I love it!
Unfortunately, "improving" the graphics would mean basically rebuilding their spaghetti code engine from the ground up, or _adding even more spaghetti_ to it.
Though, the team has reiterated time and time again that they care about stability and accessibility *above* graphical fidelity.
That last part is something most game companies have forgotten. Fancy graphics are nice, but they should never come at the cost of performance.
Ah... I still remember the days of FF14: Powerpoint Flower Pots edition
@@bl00dm0urne those things were goddamned rediculous. I never even got to play 1.0 because my computer couldnt even dream of passing the benchmark.
@@xSaraxMxNeffx Everybody knows that if your PC can't run Crysis 1, then its not good enough for FF14 1.0. :3
So FFXIV will never get a graphical update? I am really hoping for an update with the expansion after Endwalker. I don't think the game looks bad, I actually think the graphics look fine... But I think the game still needs to have an update in graphics if it really wants to go on for another 10 years.
YEEEEAAA THX you made my day now I am completely in the world ;) Gshade made me see the game new;) needed a little bit more color hehe :)
What Nvidia settings worked for you?
As a PS3-4-5 player, being a glam/gpose main is a struggle but I actually kind of like the challenge of taking really good vanilla shots!
I got to say that ending background music , that's just popping, love it
Sounds like a remix of Bozjan Resistance.
if u know the number of time i did that raid juste for the music
If only you had linked your preset in the video!
2 bits to add:
-1: You can get rid of a lot of ground and foliage shimmer by setting "Negative LOD Bias" to "Clamp". With an Nvidia card: Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings>Select FF XIV: A Realm Reborn>set Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias
-2: Another big reason for the grapical quality was due to supporting the PS3 until Stormblood. (Which they gave free upgrades to the PS4 version when they stopped supporting PS3)
Finally! A comprehensive video on gshade. Thank you!
There are gshades that add the cinematic bars that make screenshots look like they're from a movie, gshades that add this overlay on the background that makes it look very surreal and magical (Fairy Ardenvald Light), you can do some incredible stuff.
damn, i never knew how much i missed out with this, cant wait to see this in eureka zones
Can attest, Eureka looks *amazing* with Gshade, especially with the umbral weather.
Thank you :)
Love this and love your deep dives into tweaking graphics. I always thought ffxiv looked a tiny bit dated and this is amazing
I've been playing around with GShade and I have to say, the difference is immediately noticeable if you apply a bit of HDR and some coloration shading. Makes for a more vibrant game where the textures pop.
What are you settings for your Gshade @ 11:24?
Even if you don’t want to use something like GShade to improve the color and lighting effects, simply adjusting the contrast slider in the system settings menu can help tremendously in improving the game’s visuals
I’m confused. I’m pretty sure my ff14 had all distant backgrounds blurred until I turned that option off.
There's an option that manages level of detail for distant scenery, yes, but these shaders work on a far finer scale.
I really really love the "Alive Preset". It's developed over years and it looks awesome!
I get 80-90 Fps on a RTX2080 with GShade enabled.
You may want to cap it to 60. FFXIV unfortunately suffers from the animation-physics "breaking" above 60. Clothes, hair, jiggle... are affected.
Is it only WoW players who think the game looks timeless? My eyes can only see lego when I look at it.
Wow players think that cartoony artstyle equals a timeless look that never gets dated... sure new zones in wow looks good because it's made recently, but look at vanilla wow and tell me that has aged well?
Wow's graphics and art style is one of the reasons I couldnt play it. Feels like its for pre-schoolers. It's the Duplo of game art.
Yes! Was going to come here to say the same thing, less is more
For gpose and cutscenes it’s fun to get wild with it but for gameplay a touch of colourfullness, clarity, maybe a couple other things go so far.
I got Gshade today with the same settings you mentioned in the video, man didn't know FFXIV could be even more prettier!
exactly what I was looking for & had no idea how to do it, awesome Bellular & team love the new channel
The fact Bel knows about Mod Organizer and ENBs warms my heart. He's one of us :)
Pro tip, play with the blue light filter in windows for the same result with no performance hit
From my understanding looking into mods for FFXIV and SE's stance on the matter;
they say using 3rd-party software is 'Ban-able Offense' really just so they can bring the hammer down on cheaters and other people that ruin the game for others.
Neneko shaders are by far my favorite. I love them.
The very same!
I changed my shader to Neneko_Absolute [Gameplay] and OMG so goooood
I forgot what the vanilla FF looked like, I use the vanilla enhanced it simply adds a little extra to the default looks of the game but I may check out the ones you mentioned.
Always assumed GShade was for screenshots only and never looked into it, can't wait to try this out now!
I'm using Neneko's Breath of the Wild myself, the Adventurer you're using has a bit too much of a pinkish hue for me personally. But I'm glad to see you enjoying Gshade
how do i get that? I cant remember where to find the ini
I've been googling for the longest time trying to find where to download more presets. Where do you find them? Specifically the Breath of the Wild one?
@@GamingFoodie in GShade there's two dots at the top of the list that lets you get out of the base folder. as for downloading more, you just have to fish around for them.
@@Lunarfox Thanks!
Oh man this so freaking awsome - I was playing this game so long and only now find out about it thanks to you! It's amazing! I will spread the word :D
using a blend of blur and sharpening to buff out the jaggies with expresso glow and a touch of fakehdr.
I don't use G-shade because after seeing the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS, I value the higher FPS far more than the reshading. How smooth everything moves at higher frame rates is life changing.
Same!! The game looks so good at 120fps
I just want to know what the address for that fc house? I wanna check it out. @8:30
I've been using Espresso Glow for ages it makes everything look so good! I especially love the ShB gameplay preset.
Same for me. Espresso Glow ShB for gameplay is my favorite.
Can i link for sbh gameplay preset
That's my go to preset, nothing too crazy and makes the game pop
Oooh, thanks for the tip. I'd been shuffling around for one that doesn't cause the FPS to drop by 5 to 10 frames, and this one seems to fit that bill perfectly.
OMFG thank you for this; I'm running an RTX3070 and the colors, blur, and lack of depth was making me sad lol
Yeah I loooooove me my GShade; I currently use two heavily modified Okami Gameplay mods and just the sheer amount of color and detail they add is
Thankfully the game is pretty well optimized for console already and looks GORGEOUS on the PS5, even on my dated 1080p TV (hoping to get a 4K eventually with HDMI 2.1, preferably from SHARP)
Also worth noting, some years back - I wanna say during the Stormblood previews - YP talked about a possible update to the game's graphic engine, and in that bit he actually said after we go to the moon (jokingly at the time) but more seriously, likely around 7.0
Seriously, none of us thought he meant we'd literally go to the moon but here we are at 6.0
I recently went from PS4 to PS5 with a 4k TV and the difference in graphics was crazy. Was super surprised at how much better everything looked.
Can i download your gshade preset, anywhere?
Yeeesss, Ambient Occlussion on Gshade is great, it makes the game look so much better.
I wish you shared your preset because the default is nothing like yours and after some tweaking I still can't get the same look :(
I know this is over a year late, but I really hope someone can help me with this
Man i cant wait for you to reach later points in this game, very good Video keep it up!!
I found a Zelda Breath of the Wild gameplay preset and always use it now. Its gorgeous.
BotW and Glimmer are quite similar and both great. I found glimmer to be slightly better but I guess it just comes down to opinion :)
Always enjoyed watching your gamer news. But this content about a game I enjoy is great. To listen to your perspective and experience with the game is wonderful
Does anyone know how to get the text boxes looking like at 8:26?
Thank you for this video! I got reshade but had no idea how to use it - I will deffo check out those presets
when describing gshade to a friend I used the rtx comparison. I'm so damn happy to see someone else use it lol
Thanks for the video, def interested in getting g shade now.
Gotta know, as someone who installed GeShade from this video, what are all the presets you run? It looks AMAZING.
I am so glad you are playing FFXIV. I love the channel and love the content. I still like following the WoW content as well buit I dont think I will ever go back to it.
Shift F2 = return and shift F3= fast travel menu, so I either need to change the keybinds in game or if possible with the gshade
Must have bound those yourself, mine don't do that.
I use neneko's shaders for everything now! I actually stumbled on her by accident outside the game and was like holy shit I'd pay for these shaders. While looking for a way to buy them, I saw that they're actually stock with gshsde. SO. GOOD.
To each their own and all, but for an always on shader I always prefer to focus on enhancing how the base game is color mastered rather than replacing.
thanks for that, that really enhanced my gameplay of FF14!
anyone know what outfit is shown at 10:35 by the Vierra?
It looks amazing for my white mage vierra :-o
I literally just got gshade earlier this week. I sat there staring at my typhoon mount for a solid 5 minutes because he looked SO FREAKING COOL haha
