I just bought recently my first Mont Blanc Meisterstück and couldn't be happier. Amazing how the writing quality is and how the pen holds in my hand. Price tag was $800. Worth every penny

Uh, sweetie, penultimate means "next to ultimate". I can only surmise that this was a failed attempt at a pun. Also, it's pronounced "MY-stair-shtook", not "Myster-struck"
What would you expect when narrated by an amateur, who clearly knows nothing about the subject matter ? If you're going to promote (anything), then at least do your homework - & not attempt to wing it...huge error.... 🤨
I had purchased my first Montblanc (non-fountain)pen from a consignment shop here in NYC. Prior to the purchase, I had researched the difference between a fake and a real one which included the six-point "snow peak star", serial number, and "Made In Germany" print inside the clip. Such a wonderful pen and it never leaves me.
The Montblanc 148 is the cheapest pen in my collection. My TWSBI pens actually cost more. I bought the Montblanc in 1967 for the then full retail price of $33. Wish I had bought more of them. It is still working perfectly. It has survived the passing years better than my aging body.

I have a collection of about 48 Mont Blanc pens (rollerball, ballpoint and fountain). One pen I like very much is the MB Junior 620. It’s a piston fill type but it’s very unique and subtle appearance demonstrates that the writer has class and sophistication. This pen was a NOS (New old stock) never used before. It sat in a box since the mid 1970’s. I love this fountain pen.

You should do further research on the most expensive Montblancs. During a Montblanc collectors dinner in Dubai I was shown a pen worth over 1 million dollars.

It all depends on the alloy composition, treatment and nib thickness and curve. Some 14k nibs are softer than some 18k and vice-versa. Carat count alone doesn't matter that much.
Montblanc pens are not made of solid gold. Only the nibs are. The rest is a plexiglass like plastic, hence the red hue under light. Also, 18k gold is softer than 14k, hence the higher gold content of 18k. The most I have ever spent on a pen was $1215. It's an S.T. Dupont Pheonix Renaissance fountain pen. I purchased this at wholesale through Touch of Modern. It retails at $3660. I also have 2 Montblanc pens, a Meisterstuck LeGrand Platinum Line, and a Meisterstuck 149 Platinum Line. I also have a Montblanc Tradition 116483 watch.

They did a good job of giving a brief history of the company, however, it is important to get the facts right and they made pretty poor statements in relation to the saying the pens as opposed to nibs are made of solid gold and not getting the facts right in terms of the 18K and 14K differences in hardness.
Some wrong info. in this video for sure. It's pronounced meister stuke not meister struck. Also Montblanc didn't start putting serial numbers on the pens until 1991. So vintage ones will not have a serial number.
I bought a beautiful Boheme ballpoint Platinum covered Mont Blanc around 4 years ago and baby'd it. Had it slip out of my pocket getting into the car while running late to work the other day. Was instantly gone. I was in love with that thing, only real one like it retails for over $1k now. I'm so sad that it's gone, it was stunning.
For those who truly understand (& appreciate) fountain pens, this presentation is a PR disaster - & I might imagine that Montblanc themselves would wish to distance themselves from same. First: Montblanc have not always engraved their nibs with a serial number - this is a latterday addition, introduced less than thirty years ago. Second: The word is 'Meisterstuck' - not "Meisterstruck", & whilst their nibs are indeed either 14 or 18K solid gold, the accents ~ cap bands, section bands & clips are gold plate. Third: JFK proffered the Montblanc to Germany's Minister Adenauer - out of courtesy - with which to sign that accord; the pen itself was a Meisterstuck 149, also known as the "Diplomat's Pen", & has been used by the World's premiere's ever since for international (& domestic documentation) of import. Four: Your constant repetition of the same facts suggests that the script was hopelessly written & poorly researched; moreover, the narrator appears to be fixated upon prestige - a classic signal that (she) belongs to the Nouveau Riche, ergo, those with more money than sense (or taste). I cringed, almost constantly for the duration, in the vain hope you might actually know what you're talking about, alas, I was unsuccessful....Kindly do us all a favour, & spare yourself the embarrassment in the future.
I don't know why I liked pen when I was young. After watching this video, I like MontBlanc pen even more. Store representatives should talk about these traits to customers at the store. If I knew about these qualities of the pen. I would buy more of MontBlanc when I was young to now. Thanks again for the quick to the point video about MontBlanc😊
A bit of misunderstanding from this video is the fact that she said the entire pen is made out of solid gold when she actually means just the nib of the pen which is a big difference. That's like saying you have a solid gold watch where only the face of the watch is solid gold. However, in the pen world a gold nib is the pinnacle of nib construction and Mont Blanc does craft exquisite solid gold nibs.
Spent about $25 on a pen but what was most interesting was that I thought they only made cologne for men. Fun facts to know, but now I want a Mont Blanc pen lol

No doubt this has already been listed in many, many comments. Since the VO has not been corrected, I will add another comment here. *NOT "penultimate."* Look up the definition. Then, do yourself and your subscribers a favor: spend a bit of money to have the VO corrected.
Number 14 is completely wrong. Most Montblanc pens are made of their signature “precious resin” with metal accents. The metal accents may be solid gold, or brass coated in gold, palladium, ruthenium etc. only some of their pens are made of metal, even most of those aren’t “made of solid gold”

It should be pointed out that only the Nib is made of gold. Most MB pen bodies are made of resin, and the 18k is softer than yhe 14k nib. Also it’s not for durability os cause gold is softer so it usually has a bouncier writing experience.

The pen I bought for college and work is a fiber castel it cost not more than $20 depending where it sold and supplies You may have heard of it but it's not very luxurious but hey a pen is a pen... Actually gold content does not necessarily determine how soft a nib is. Vintage flex nibs are mostly 14c, and are far more flexible than modern 18c nibs. A lot has to do with the other metals and alloys that are put in the nib material.
They now also make headphones. Didn't you know that?. The most I've spent on a mechanical pencil is about $70. Worth every penny until you'll get it lost.
It’s Pilot Namiki my friend. However, Namiki is a separated segment from pilot and is know as Namiki only. Both brand shares a common model called “Falcon”

I think the pronounciation is different for Masterpiece since ü is an umlaut and has a different pronounciation Master „meister“ piece „stück“. So I guess it is short oo instead of uh. And s is pronounced sh in this instance.
My aim in writing this review is so that the video can be edited and made much better. I feel there is no good reason to point out errors or deficits (things that should be included but are not), if we cannot learn and improve. First my compliments: the presenter has a nice voice and her attitude is positive. She sounds excited about this famous brand of pen. I cannot place her accent but the first thing I notice is that nobody taught her how to correctly pronounce "Meisterstück". She pronounces it "meister STRUCK". THERE IS NO R in the second half of the name. Also the letter "u" in German when it has an umlaut - the two dots over the Ü changes the pronunciation from the way a u would be voiced in English: instead of meister- stuck - [stuck as when a spelunker - someone who explores caves - gets stuck in a narrow passage...] - when it has the ümlaut it is pronounced meister-"Stook" the u sound is narrowed, and instead of sounding like "stuck" in English its more like Peregrine Took from Lord of the Rings - meisterstook.....I am not a native German speaker but I happen to enjoy pens hence the desire to pronounce the name correctly. The second area where there is room for improvement has to do with repetition: I did not make a count but it seems that apart from the link to the mountain, the number of years the company has been in. business and the brand representative along with some of the more expensive items produced, the video repeats over and over the link between the pen and the cost. It would be wonderful if we could learn about say the differences between Mont Blank fountain pens, ball points and roller ball type pens, their refills, the inks used and so on. I think of this video as a first draft and would love to learn more about the actual pens. Thank you.

It's worth remembering that MB pens have the serial numbers on the clip-bands, not the nibs.

Actually gold content does not necessarily determine how soft a nib is. Vintage flex nibs are mostly 14c, and are far more flexible than modern 18c nibs. A lot has to do with the other metals and alloys that are put in the nib material.
I've had the Mont Blanc cologne. It was nice, but as I recall it didn't last a very long time.
They now also make headphones. Didn't you know that?. The most I've spent on a mechanical pencil is about $70. Worth every penny until you'll get it lost.

I used to see a man with €5mil annual income, signing his million contract with Stabilo and Pilot price €1. So being practical is more important here.
By the way not all pens are made by solid gold. Montblanc pix, montblanc starwalker are made by steel. So, number 14 is totally wrong

It’s Pilot Namiki my friend. However, Namiki is a separated segment from pilot and is know as Namiki only. Both brand shares a common model called “Falcon”

Hardly I believe not more than 2 Euros, which is around 150 rupees in Indian rupees. I'm pretty sure you get good one around that price but seems Mont Blanc is elegant got some serious stuff .! I wish I could afford it once I become million

I think the pronounciation is different for Masterpiece since ü is an umlaut and has a different pronounciation Master „meister“ piece „stück“. So I guess it is short oo instead of uh. And s is pronounced sh in this instance.
Maybe. But there’s definitely no “r” in the last syllable. It is not Meisterstruck.
My aim in writing this review is so that the video can be edited and made much better. I feel there is no good reason to point out errors or deficits (things that should be included but are not), if we cannot learn and improve. First my compliments: the presenter has a nice voice and her attitude is positive. She sounds excited about this famous brand of pen. I cannot place her accent but the first thing I notice is that nobody taught her how to correctly pronounce "Meisterstück". She pronounces it "meister STRUCK". THERE IS NO R in the second half of the name. Also the letter "u" in German when it has an umlaut - the two dots over the Ü changes the pronunciation from the way a u would be voiced in English: instead of meister- stuck - [stuck as when a spelunker - someone who explores caves - gets stuck in a narrow passage...] - when it has the ümlaut it is pronounced meister-"Stook" the u sound is narrowed, and instead of sounding like "stuck" in English its more like Peregrine Took from Lord of the Rings - meisterstook.....I am not a native German speaker but I happen to enjoy pens hence the desire to pronounce the name correctly. The second area where there is room for improvement has to do with repetition: I did not make a count but it seems that apart from the link to the mountain, the number of years the company has been in. business and the brand representative along with some of the more expensive items produced, the video repeats over and over the link between the pen and the cost. It would be wonderful if we could learn about say the differences between Mont Blank fountain pens, ball points and roller ball type pens, their refills, the inks used and so on. I think of this video as a first draft and would love to learn more about the actual pens. Thank you.
All I can say is . . . once you write w/ a Montblanc pen, all other pens seem outrageously inadequate.
