Im looking forward to the game being renamed to World of Russiaship with it's new DLC's Russian Bias Edition. These paper ships are getting beyond ridiculous. Funny that only the Russian ships are overpowered to the extreme. Soon we will ONLY be seeing russian ships being played. Might have to drop the game now. Over WGing's decisions with the Russian BB/Cruiser trees.
Yep, I gues you're right. I play this game since beta and I am proud of fact, that I didn't taint my self by touching this filth. This cheattree is the only one I completely ignored. Even when I got some of this bullshit from containers, I sold it. And when I see ships named after criminals like Lenin, or Sovietskyi Soyuz, I always prioritize them as targets, no matter what. When I see them on team, I always leave them on flank and never help when they call for it. They are not my teamates, they are WG's whores. But I am really sick of it and I almost dont play this comedy anymore. It will end up just like WoT with so many Object xxx (x=add some random number or letter), that they are running out of symbols.
I grinded the Des Moines just to find out that it is irrelevant in the presence of these russian cruisers. This thing is a light cruiser but has better armor, better guns, better overall survivability, better radar. The only thing DM is good at is hugging island but in tier 10 map there are almost no islands to hug. Even if you do an AP bomber just blaps you for 20k damage and you are forced to leave. WG should really buff the DM.
Besides the overall balancing issues every new Russian line brings, I also find it interesting how their ships are ALWAYS the biggest, tankiest and with close to or the biggest guns in their class. They so desperately want to be the big, macho bruisers. Ivan Drago recreated in steel and put afloat. The inferiority complex can be spotted from the moon...
Not to mention they design their ships with features that favour them in game. Like i doubt the 180mm guns existed in real life and i bet that number was made up to allow for that 37mm ifhe pen. Its really stupid, oh yea it has wrose concealment than its tech tree counterpart heavy cruiser? It also has better if not similar concealment to hindy and henri? Like what is actually wrong with them
Stalin wanted Big Gun ships that could take a beating. that is why all the Stalingrad cruisers and all the variations proposed have similar looks and feel. Nevski on the other hand had her main battery made to be AA and shoot down U-2 Spy planes... not that they didn't make the guns work, they just never made barrels that could live up to naval standards.
@@skidaddleaegir 180 mm guns existed. Kirov-class were built after all, and the Adm. Nakimov's were also a thing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180mm_Pattern_1931-1933 The super-velocity ones the Nevsky carries though? Those are firing-range queens.
@@eivindhelgetun3254 i see, thanks for correcting me, i do feel however these guns are overperforming in terms of penetration reload rate and accuracy, what are your thoughts?
@@skidaddleaegir Eh, both penetration, reload and muzzle velocities are probably in the ballpark to what these guns allegedly put out in theory, or on the test ranges if they were actually made. But any sane engineers would have realized guns like that would wear out their liners almost immediately in practice and reduced the charges heavily before adoption, hence my firing-range queen jab. Reliability is no concern in WoWs however, which is why WG keep letting paper-ships get away with best-case theoretical stats, unfettered by the constraints of physics and sanity.
Actually the Nevsky has 320mm effective citadel armor since the casemate is armored on both sides (the inside and outside of the ship). You can still get full pens without citadels but cruisers basically can’t citadel it except at point blank ranges.
As light as a russian cruiser gets. This is russian Des Moines, but better. Much better shell velocity, similar gun range, better armor for whatever reason, better conceal and speed and on top of that, the Nevsky gets 600 more HP. And torps. "Light" cruiser. A DM in the russian tech tree would be a DD
Glad to see that you are better. Regarding the "funkiness" of firing, I noticed that too!! To me it seems like, there is a problem with the sync between the host ( server) and the personal terminals....
You mentioned thinking you've seen shells go straight through targets without registering. I've been having this problem lately too, I thought at first it was just a battleship dispersion thing but then I went back and looked at my replays and no they're definitely going through without registering a hit
5-6 seconds per 15 kms means a shell velocity in EXCESS of 3000ms/s (since the shells follow an arc, but the distance is in a line). If other figures are fantasy, this is fantasy x2.
Hey there Flolo, glad your surgery went well! One thing I want to point out is the Nevsky has standard cruiser dispersion, only the Petro and the heavy cruiser line have the weird "worse at long range, better at close range" dispersion. Any wonky dispersion is a function of only having 8 guns (like the Hipper), not the dispersion formula itself. In the original devblog post that weird dispersion is only mentioned as a feature of the heavy cruiser branch: www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/f1rvxi/st_soviet_cruisers/
Had some weird issues playing cv. Im hitting dds with midway HE bombers and I see them hitting the ship, but I don't get dmg or hits, just damaging 3 modules. Wasting entire squadrons with perfect drops for almost no damage but tons of knocked modules.
Donskoi also has 18km range, 180mm guns and a huge hp pool (43k). The problem with Nevsky is the ultra fast reload and shell velocity. Imo it can get either one of those, but not both.
What a shock. Between the new heavy and now this “light” cruiser (light meaning gun calibre not armour), it’s no surprise everyone cries Russian bias. It’s just so blatant.
Shells are definitely passing through ships. I was 3km away from an enemy Lightning trying to finish him off in the 155mm Mogami and they just ghosted straight through.
@@DarkStar14n that's good but radar is a small madder when there guns are like that. If they are to have bad long range then they should made it almost impossable to hit anything past 13 or 14 km Will see
@@jagsdomain203 They could just make it that the AP shatters easier at long range. Or nerf the sigma so the CEP is bigger. OR even better increase the dispersion circle all together.
@@jagsdomain203 IRL one of it's selling points was the those hilarriously fast guns could hit U-2 spy planes... if they could get a reliable target lock. So having good AA would be as intended by the design.
I think that range like 19 km, if they don't have radar director then gun director must be some what high on water. So then concealment must be like 15 km like Hindenburg's.
8:34 talks about shells wiffing - I think this is something to do with the Calm waters mod??? Would the water line be a little higher normally? I noticed when I switched to the mod, I saw much more shells wiff through ships.. if you can take a look flamu that'd be neat.

*BIG BRAIN*
Just to make this clear a light cruiser can be heavily armored and still be a light cruiser! Whether a cruiser is heavy or light is defined by its gun caliber nothing else!
Stuck with the game since beta, seriously starting to lose interest with the Soviet OP bullshit.
I was playing since open beta, played right up until a few months after the CV rework when I finally had enough of their bullshit not fixing their stupid mistakes.
glad to hear your eyes doing good; had that surgery myself several years ago, still amazed at how well I can see; you will enjoy it i'm sure
As someone who hates the idea of anything being near my eye, that surgery sounds horrible. Glad your back!
So a light cruiser can bow tank yamo shels?
Because of course it can. No bias here, comrades.
Puerto Rico can do that broadside

To sum it up: "most of BBs except soviet ones" .... that says it all
Im looking forward to the game being renamed to World of Russiaship with it's new DLC's Russian Bias Edition.
They're only op in people that are unicum already. You'll see potatoes get deleted in these things instantly all the time
I grinded the Des Moines just to find out that it is irrelevant in the presence of these russian cruisers. This thing is a light cruiser but has better armor, better guns, better overall survivability, better radar. The only thing DM is good at is hugging island but in tier 10 map there are almost no islands to hug. Even if you do an AP bomber just blaps you for 20k damage and you are forced to leave. WG should really buff the DM.
seems competetive. thx for the vid. next balansed ship
Nakimov's were also a thing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180mm_Pattern_1931-1933
The super-velocity ones the Nevsky carries though?
Good to hear your surgery turned out well
Happy to hear you're recovering well from the surgery, and the same for your throat ailment.
So there is now a light cruiser that is almost in every way better then the zao, what a surprise
And it can bow tank a Yamato, while the battleships of other nations can't even do that.
@@derek96720 Moskva has 50 mm as well, but it can be pen'd if u aim at the top of the nose
Doesn't the 30mm deck armour mean it is a heavy cruiser as per the recent IFHE changes?

British CAs: Glorified Conquerors
Soviet CLs/CAs: Stalinium-armed shells that can wipe out Kremlins at full broadside
This thing seems to deserve the title of medium cruiser
Its magically amazing..... Fear the Russian Navy on Paper......
you know you are watching a flamu vid, when the first salvo hits with a citadel and he gets a slight chuckle out of it.
Best Wishes and Get Well soon, Flamu!
Actually the Nevsky has 320mm effective citadel armor since the casemate is armored on both sides (the inside and outside of the ship). You can still get full pens without citadels but cruisers basically can’t citadel it except at point blank ranges.
Nah thankfully it's not as ridiculous....
Unlike Petropavlovsk
As light as a russian cruiser gets. This is russian Des Moines, but better. Much better shell velocity, similar gun range, better armor for whatever reason, better conceal and speed and on top of that, the Nevsky gets 600 more HP. And torps. "Light" cruiser. A DM in the russian tech tree would be a DD
Thats what the Game need!!! A Donskoi on steroids.....so...grind to it and feel OP again......
GUESS WHAT GUYS! new and engaging mechanic! MORE RADAR!
Nevsky is a heavy cruiser, Petropavlosk is a battleship, Kremlin is an artillery emplacement mounted inside an island.
Been waiting to hear about this one

Ahhaha
Seeing sth like this would be released into the game, nah won’t reinstall. Good luck on those who are spending money on the game already.
Had some weird issues playing cv.
Im hitting dds with midway HE bombers and I see them hitting the ship, but I don't get dmg or hits, just damaging 3 modules.
Wasting entire squadrons with perfect drops for almost no damage but tons of knocked modules.
Needs more balans. Must have 32 main guns
Spreadsheet says ready for release
Donskoi also has 18km range, 180mm guns and a huge hp pool (43k). The problem with Nevsky is the ultra fast reload and shell velocity. Imo it can get either one of those, but not both.
What a shock. Between the new heavy and now this “light” cruiser (light meaning gun calibre not armour), it’s no surprise everyone cries Russian bias. It’s just so blatant.
Flamu can u pleas tell WG that they could at least use the same Keys for the same consumeables on the ships?
Overpowered.

WG having server issues? That would be unthinkable... lol.
Shells are definitely passing through ships. I was 3km away from an enemy Lightning trying to finish him off in the 155mm Mogami and they just ghosted straight through.
They say everything will be tested and made wonderful
Well they no loner have 2km of stealth radars. Will see if they touch on the guns.
@@DarkStar14n that's good but radar is a small madder when there guns are like that. If they are to have bad long range then they should made it almost impossable to hit anything past 13 or 14 km
Will see
@@jagsdomain203 They could just make it that the AP shatters easier at long range. Or nerf the sigma so the CEP is bigger. OR even better increase the dispersion circle all together.
@@DarkStar14n ture. At least they could lower AA so at planes can have a shot at it.
Overpowered new Soviet ship from Sekrit Dokuments? We're all shocked.
In sovjet Russia cruisers are battleships comrade
8:34 talks about shells wiffing - I think this is something to do with the Calm waters mod??? Would the water line be a little higher normally? I noticed when I switched to the mod, I saw much more shells wiff through ships.. if you can take a look flamu that'd be neat.
Reading between lines : WG want's us to finally stop bitching about smolensk.
Okay, so the Smolensk has been overshadowed. New 'must have' ship? Yes. Massively over-powered? Yes. Kills ships in no time flat? Yes. Light Cruiser? No.
I have seen this in the game I don't know how people can bring it to live server, it's quite spammy too.
“Something No other light cruiser would ever do switching to AP at this range”
RN cruisers: may I be your pardon.
Why am I not suprise anymore?
If i remember correctly, "light cruisers" were the ones with up to 6.1 inch main guns. 180mm guns make this ship more of a heavy cruiser.
_Me befor watching this:_ Ok, maybe this thing is a very powerful ship by stats but that doesn´t mean it is OP!
1:04 It is OP...
Good video!
Russia has lost its pride since the end of the cold war. Doing stuff like this is their way of trying to get that back. Sad because it destroying the game.
Also sad because they´re just making stuff up. Reminds me of when that series "Chernobyl" came out which portrays many soviet people as heroic but is very critical of the soviet state and its culture of dishonesty. Immediately the russian media got their panties in a twist and it was announced they were going to make their own series on Chernobyl were a CIA agent would be responsible for blowing up the reactor.
Carl Langer Carl Langer as Russian I am not supporting this type of biasing form WG , like wtf , removing historical ships and instead placing Cold War/completely imaginary ships with no historical backing ? Tsushima syndrome at it’s high .
@@lenkor7606 You're not the norm. The RU playerbase loves to complain that WG is biased *against* the Soviet Navy. Yeah, the navy that has the highest proportion of paper/pixel ships, many of which have exaggerated capabilities, has a bias against it according to them.
@MotorsportsMania21 what do you expect from the toxic playerbase ? I am playing on eu servers to eascape the mess that is ru servers
@@lenkor7606 Is it true that the RU playerbase has a divide between supporting this Soviet bias and being against it? After all, they have a very brawl-heavy meta, and these Soviet ships are definitely trying to break it.
Light cruiser refers to the ARMAMENT, not the armor or how heavy the ship itself is.
WG, read all the comments. Hear the community shaking their heads at you. Imagine these same people had money that they would spend on online entertainment.
Someone keeps on saying Light and Heavy and Battle ship is about the guns....with 7 inch guns those are cruiser class weapons. They have obviously stretched the rules in some min/max ways.
new GOOD ship, yeah!
Has anyone else noted that WG's shell velocity calculation is way off? Stated shell velocity is 1000m\s, yet time to Target at 15km was 5 and change seconds. Call me crazy, but that's closer to 3000m\s. At 1000 m\s a Target at 15km should take 15 secs shell flight time. I haven't noticed anyone else talking about this. Thoughts?
The game's distances are compressed.
@flamu I feel the same way about the shells passing over ships. And i though i was going mad.
10 seconds into the video and you can already hear in his voice how much flamu is looking forward to the shitstorm he´s about to unleash lmao
