    That was beautiful to watch 😍 did you have to cover the stones with something like nail polish ?

      Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I usually cover more delicate stones with plastidip while they are in the solution and remove it after.

    Hi I was wondering if the copper wire and the solution in the container is reusable? I'm researching and your video has been the most informative!

    Hello Lindsey,
    which current did you use & for how long did you keep it in the solution? I'm a beginner and this information would help me a lot because yours turned out so beautiful! Thanks in advance. Your video was so calming to watch. Have a beautiful day. Love, Elena♡

    • @LindseyGardner
      @LindseyGardner  5 лет назад

      Hi Elena! I usually go by voltage and keep it around .3 or .4v. As for the amount of time, it varies depending on the area that needs to be electroformed but an average amount of time is probably 10 hours.Hope this helps and thanks so much for watching my video!

    I didn't realize you can let the seperate pieces touch eachother in the bath. Does that ever compromise the evenness of the plating or cause them to form/stick together?

    the solutions used in the whole process doesn't decay the crystals? They don't do any harm to the crystals?
    and thank you for sharing! think I wanna start trying some of that electroforming. : )

    • @lyrablack9157
      @lyrablack9157 4 года назад

      It's a little late, but if you seal your crystals with a coat of clear nail polish, they won't be damaged :)

  • @lunarcycle9373
    @lunarcycle9373 4 года назад

    Hello. I love your video! I am new to copper electroplating. What do you use to cover the more delicate stones before putting them in the bath? What do you use to remove the clear coat from the stones once they are out of the bath? And when place your pendant into the XL GEL solution, how long do you keep them in there?
    I appreciate any info you can give a newbie! :)

    • @lyrablack9157
      @lyrablack9157 4 года назад

      Hey, clear nail polish works fine for me. I remove it after. If you apply the polish thick enough, it will peel off easily after. You can place your pendant in the liver of Sulphur solution once it's out of the bath and dry. Leave it in until it reached your desired darkness. Usually takes just a few seconds.

    This video is the best I've seen. Can you tell me which gauge wire you use in the video for the semihoop components? 14ish? And does it also get electroformed or stay as is?

    • @sarahkoelbl368

    I've been having such a hard to with electroforming some leaves. The metal clasp seem to get platted, but the leaves just dont no matter how long I leave them in. I've already tried different paints. The most resent one was graphite mixed with mod podge. I dont know what to adjust next. :/ Any helpful tips?

    • @elizafranco13
      @elizafranco13 5 лет назад

      Also, at what voltage do you leave your rectifier?

    • @LindseyGardner
      @LindseyGardner  5 лет назад +1

      The graphite paint I use is a mix of acrylic paint, graphite powder, and a little distilled water. Did you seal the leaves with a varnish before starting the process?

    • @LindseyGardner
      @LindseyGardner  5 лет назад

      @@elizafranco13 Usually I keep it around .3 or .4v

    • @elizafranco13
      @elizafranco13 5 лет назад

      @@LindseyGardner I decided to try a different copper solution and Im actually testing it out today. *fingers crossed* Oh wow, thats a really low voltage. Mine was set at 1.3. Thank you for replying though. I really appreciate it. 🙏 Oh and, yes, the leaves were coated beforehand.
