hi i don't know if you still read the commets but I just wanted to tell you that your video was soo useful, really you explained perfectly and exactly what I needed to know. im really grateful ty so much love from France❤️
You should only plate graphite or copper or other conductive paint for these purposes (plating with copper sulfate). Iron, like the Monopoly set piece will contaminate your solution. You could seal the iron and apply a coating of conductive paint and plate that without danger of tampering with your solution.
That's what I was thinking. This is one of my Rectifiers I bet she wouldn't know how to turn it on. www.batronix.com/images/generated/dp832a-oblique-1200x735-White-b.jpg
Love this video. Thank you! You mentioned Sherry Hobb. Who is that and where can we purchase her products? I like the small rectifier as well and would be interested in purchasing it from her. Thank you!
What you have described here is electroplating, not electro forming. Actual electro forming fills a nonconducting mould with copper around a copper wire inside the mould. Sheri Haab makes the same mistake.
Thank you for this! I found the level of willful ignorance to be alarming in this video. If a person is going to do a tutorial, I'd like to understand the process, and also be taught the correct terminology.
I can hear all my electronics instructors screaming at this video. When she shocks the s*it out herself, she will wish she took the time to know the basics of electricity.
I'm going to do this to very fragile pieces of organic material. How is the coating afterwards? Is it hard like metal or is it still as fragile as it was before? I would want a finish that is as hard as metal for the pieces I have in mind.
Isn't electroforming a quick easy way to make poor quality jewellery? I would rather pay a little bit extra and buy jewellery that's made using traditional bench jeweller techniques.
It allows an artist to sculpt a beautiful piece in wax, or any other material and then plate it. I have some gorgeous pieces of jewelry that are electroformed. The use of molds was not necessary.
Saves a lot of money from casting for a piece that looks similar and a lot simpler. If you don't have a casting torch at home this is great. This could also be a selling point for jewellery because people find it so interesting that the actual organic is inside. !
Your video is the cleanest info we've watched on RUclips, thanks.
You explain this SO much better than the others. Thank you!

Thank you for this excellent tutorial. Finally……someone who actually explains how it works.

The device made by Haab is nice but it costs $315. While a rectifier can be bought on Amazon for $50 plus dollars.
Do you have a link for that? I would love to check it out.
Just for reference, the sealer you are showing is not lacquer. It is polyurethane and, judging from the color of the can, it's a water based poly.
How you keeping yourself safe? PPE? Proper ventilation of chemical fumes?
Its amazing how aggressively she doesnt want to find out anything about electricity while working with it lmao
i pisses me of how little she understands about electroforming yet she is making a tutorial lol

Mary Dippolito 😂😂
@@RadiationNetwork that’s very intimidating omg 😅 I’m just a beginner
It is sad that more non-competent people make tutorials, reviews etc. on RUclips than people who actually know something they are talking about.
Can you please make a part 2 of this video showing the entire process in action?
Maybe not for free…

here is her website: www.sherrihaab.com/
My electroforming is coming out salmon colored, rough, and brittle. Can you please tell me what to do to stop this and get a shiny copper finish?

how many coats of graphic paint is needed for the best electroplating?

I love this, is it possible to do this with real shells?
Yes it is! Take a look on Etsy for examples, You can do beehive comb, acorns, leaves, shells, bones, fabric, wire, and more.
So excited to try this!
Is it possible to electroform my best thing? Can it put some grase on it and then the graphit? Do you have experience with human parts?
Do you have an affiliate link for the rectifier?
Go look at other videos that actually know something about this subject
Is 18 g good enough for an anode?
Can you solder to electroformed pieces ?
What is the book in the video called?
Where is the actual doing of the procedure?
where is the rest of the video?
what type of varnish do you use?
Can you provided the "Rio" link? Thank you

no mention of time in solution, average or how to gauge it
YIKES! Find another video, QUICK!
Kasual why exactly?! What happened??!!
Darn all that instruction and we didn’t get to see the process. 😭 😭
why does she call it a rectifier its a power supply which does a lot more than just rectify!
hello mem im gold polish werker how powerspply
swimming rofl
Useless

I guess you're not into shabby chic? :)

Why restrict the tools at your disposal? Some people (like me) want the result it gives for conceptual reasons
