- ⭐ Electroforming leaves: step by step process
In this video, I show you how to copper electroform a leaf. I chose to electroform fern, but you can choose any leaf. Leave it in the bath for at least 24 hours so that it becomes sturdy. Don't forget to monitor progress during the process.

Thank you so much for your videos! They are super helpful for me as I'm starting to experiment with eletroforming too. :)
is it fragile?
Cool! I want to electroform a roach and then plate it with gold! 😁
Thank you for sharing!
I really hope you mean a dead one. Also you'd need to properly dehydrate it first which can take a long time. There are talented people that only use the insect as a "model" and they make a sculpture instead, leaving the insect to nature where it belongs. You could simply sculpt it in polymer clay and wire and still electroform that. Then you could make a mold out of the electroformed piece and keep replicating the piece through a better method, like lost wax casting. Instead of using actual insects everytime.
I would like to give it a try. The leaves look amazing
Well done! Thank you.
Best video on this technique. Could you list the names of the solutions you used? It was a little bit hard for me me understand. Thank you !
Hi, thanks for your comment. I have a list of all the supplies I use in the description. The copper conductive paint is the black paint I apply on the leaf, the electroforming solution is the blue bath and the Liver of Sulphur is the patina (yellow solution at the end).
Thank you ! ❤
Great work !!!
I love this so much! Thank you for sharing! 🌿
And the blue bath ingredients
You can't get big bulk amounts of ready made electric conductive paint so trying with graffite powder and glue today
Beautiful... After that, can you plate it in gold?
Super !
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous 😍 thanks!
You're welcome!
This is epic. Thank you !!!
Que maravilhoso!❤️
Helpful video
Thank you for this tutorial. I made my first fern leaves and they turned out beautifully. Unfortunately, I don't know what happened. On my next attempt, my leaves were slightly covered with a layer of copper, but they are soft and can be bent easily. What could have happened? Please help!
Can we do this on wood
Amazing
Thank for sharing! What’s the first product, please?
Amazing video 🖤 may I ask how fragile is the finished product? Is it easy to break?
It looks so beautiful! X
It's not really fragile. It won't break if you drop it on the floor, but it can be bent a little bit. If you leave it longer in the bath it'll be really sturdy! This pendant is for sale in my shop craftyexplorer.com/shop.
Nice! Is that not breaking?
Awesome 🥰❤️💋 i can’t wait to try this ! Thank you ☺️
What is that little black bottle you coated the fern with?
graphite-based conductive paint
Muy lindo tu trabajo Te felicito soy nueva del canal me gustaría aprender por favor Cuáles son los materiales qué se necesita puedes decirme en español gracias
Спасибо большое!
I have a cicada where the copper is cracking at the base can I solder some copper to fix it or use E60 to seal it?
Hi. I bought everything on your list, got my leaf project all set up and ready. hooked up the plugs and turned on the machine... When I put the volts at 00.2, the amps are very low: 0.01. If I turn up the amps to .09, then the volts go up to about 5, 6,+. How do I get the amps to go up and keep the voltage low?
Hi, I only turn up the volts, and never touch the amps. I set up my volts at like 00.2 or 00.3 and my amps are usually between 0.20 and 0.40. All rectifiers are different so I'm not sure how you must set up yours. You can watch my video on how to set up your rectifier (I have an Eventek), it might help you with yours! ruclips.net/video/v50ZXpm9tKg/видео.html
Hi! Would you mind updating the product list? The bus bar URL is wrong, and the conductive paint from that seller is out of stock. Or could you please recommend different brands we could buy on Rio Grande?
What happens if you don't neutralise after the eform bath?
My pieces end up with blue stains from the bath on them when I don't neutralize. But you can scrub them off with a woold pad or when polishing. Neutralizing is 'optional'. I wasn't doing it when I first started electroforming.
Hi , whats the first white matter that cover the leave???
ModPodge
what is the fluid inside the glass jar
It's electroforming solution
What if I did with silver instead of copper . If I'm making with copper there is copper electroforming. Chemical what about with silver.
Hi, I don't know for silver electroforming, I've never done it.
Un accent français non ?
Improvements to your business would be 1. get rid of music I don't think anyone can like that sound and hard to hear clearly the important words
2. Ingredients list of all things and preferably the link .
