    I'm waiting on this case to be delivered and I'll be migrating my PC into it. Really appreciate the detailed build guide. I was a little worried about space but it looks like it won't be too much of an issue. And this is the first build I've seen using cable extensions which is something I was contemplating. This made me confident I can fit them in my own build.

    God I had so much pain to build in this, even more than in Nano lol. The SATA from 3.5 HDD is impossible to fit in, you have to really crook it and even then... space for the cables is like none and I am pretty sure because of this I got short somewhere. Something was touching my motherboard or Idk, had to take it apart and so far I have in on a bench table. Collecting my nerves and patience for another attempt this weekend. Layout of my motherboard is not helping too. Helpful video. Also any idea how to connect front I/O panel connectors? My motherboard (EVGA X570 FTW) has header facing down.... so there is zero chance to connect the pins from bottom, maybe I can connect them before putting the motherboard in? they are kinda short tho It's gonna be difficult to do.

    I worry about gpu clearance. 330mm is a bit tight, especially with very long gpus like the asus strix in the video, it almost touches the front case fans. Although it fits, I worry that a bigger gpu come along in the next generation and you have to swap the case entirely. So maybe going for the bigger Torrent is better.

    Having used this case now I’ve found one glaring omission from reviews, the PSU is now pulling in warm air from within the case resulting in it (mine at least a HX850) to run noticeably louder than anything else in the case when idle. Only way to avoid is to have front fans at 50% which is a bit too loud at idle IMO. Can you recommend a suitable PSU for this build? Both for noise and size considerations? 750w minimum since it’s for a 3080Ti Ryzen 7 build. Thanks!

    • @Aciel_Yu
      @Aciel_Yu 2 года назад +1

      Probably 4 months late. I recently built a pc in this case and used EVGA 750 GT and has been running quietly since, since this EVGA PSU's fan is not even turned on in the temperature below 60c or in idle. I use the given stock case fans and run in normal mode in which the temperature of the case stays below 50c or to be exact around 44c at all times so the PSU's fan is not even needed. In fact, I doubt I ever notice it is even turned on at all after all this while. Also, I assume you are going the airflow route buying this case and if you are really concerned about the fan noise for the CPU Cooler, I recommend Thermalright Frost Spirit 140 V3. The performance is of those at Noctua as it cools my 5600x at around 44c in GPU Intensive Game and 50c in CPU Intensive Game and I don't even notice the fan noise at all, super quiet.
      Edit: probably not similar to your build but for drawing comparison, my build is 5600x/ASUS Tuf 3070Ti.

    One question sir, the mb in this build was ATX right? Can you put 140mm fans at the bottom? In the instruction, it said if you use ATX mb, you cannot put any fan at the bottom. But in the video, you can put 2 140mm fans. Is there any problem or any tips on that?

    • @misterapple7123
      @misterapple7123 2 года назад

      I’d like the clarification as well. I know that board is ATX and I suspect what he meant was that you couldn’t bottom mount the two fatter 180mm fans (that were on the front) with an ATX board.

    • @bdawg8907
      @bdawg8907 Год назад

      Fractal says 140’s in the bottom will fit with a atx board. If you went with 180’s in the bottom then you need to go with a matx mobo.

    • @misterapple7123
      @misterapple7123 Год назад +1

      I went ahead and built it. And yes, the 140s will work with a full ATX board, but if you have a stiff cable going into one of the headers on the bottom edge, it’s definitely problematic.

    • @bdawg8907
      @bdawg8907 Год назад +1

      @@misterapple7123 good info. I’m in the market for a new case and keep going back and forth on the Torrent. The tight room for cables in the back concerns me a bit, plus.. the case seems to sell at a premium price and I’m not sure it’s worth it over some alternatives. I do like the overall design and aesthetic though.

    Great video! I am working on my first build and using this case and your fan setup. The fans you have listed for the bottom and rear are not available. I see lots of options for other quality fans with RGB. My question may be a silly one but I just don't know. Do you need those exact fans to work together in the software and on that hub? I.e if I went with deep cools or something, will I have to use something else other than what you showed in your video to control the lighting on all fans at once. I think it's on a hub level so it shouldn't matter but I want to double-check. Also, outside of those fans, any other recommendation on RGB fans that would compliment this build?

  • @boristheblade209
    @boristheblade209 2 года назад +1

    Great vid, think im going to get this case.
    With the RGB header on the Mobo, does this mean that you can only use ASRocks software to control the front RGB fans? Or can you get 3rd party apps to work?

    • @Bunny-Bones
      @Bunny-Bones 2 года назад

      If you use mobo header for argb then you use your mobo software. If you use any other argb hub then plug into that and use that software. Ex- Corsair commander pro etc. you would use that software. I use asus lol. But it actually works and looks great with this setup. I’m pleasantly surprised. Edit. Plug your nexus 9 slim fan hub into mobo header or your own other hub. It will work - plug and play.

Look better then extension mods and they are long with comb attachments to make your cables look super clean. 79.99 worth every penny. One of the best investments I have made. My case I am transferring to this case has even less room for cable management. Bitfenix nova mesh mesh tg. Psu corsair rm 850x , mobo b550-f gaming. 5900x cpu, asus dual rtx 3070 gpu.

      @@plugultra on a note. After taking my build and rebuilding in Torrent compact. I managed to fit Noctua 140 mm x 2 on bottom no problem even using almost every bottom header on B550-f gaming mobo. Which is flush with Case mesh. Cable management is a $&*^! On back of pc lol. I needed exactly 5-6 inches more gpu pcie wire length. I installed my SSD at very top in hdd cage. It worked perfectly for me. I switched to Noctua Nh-d15 tower from my nh-d15s! And it fits with both 140mm fans not offset. Don’t ask me why. It just works in this case. I’m deshroud-ing my 3070 today. Personal preference.
      The out come with just stock normal components etc. This case is freaking amazing! I live in Texas around Houston so ambient temps are not low. My temps are so stable and just so normalized now. The Nexus 9 fan hub is easy if you don’t over think it. If you need help ask me. All the info on Reddit etc added 4 hours to my build. I have noctua 140mm x2 on bottom 1 120mm noctua exhaust. The whole pc is so quite even when ramped up. I would say if you don’t water cool. Which I do not anymore because crap goes wrong-water cooling crap goes wrong +if-oh “sh1t”. This is hands down the best case for gpu,cpu,mobo,vram,and all components getting plenty of fresh cool air exhausted to perfection. Sorry for the text wall. Great video! This has helped me tremendously. The remaining two questions I have is how many ARGB fans you daisy chained to the same motherboard argb header. The other question I have is if the fan hub doesnt easily exceed the total amp draw when connecting so many fans. My motherboard 4-pin PWM fan headers for example support 1A total draw. The two front fans use 0.350A each so this would mean I can't connect 3 of them as that would exceed the total power draw. Let alone when connecting 9 PWM case fans. Other than that I salute you for the crystal clear demonstration/explanation! 🫡
