I have been thinking about this passage lately. I was actually curious what the Orthodox thought about this, just last week. Wow. And this was always interesting to me. I like to quote it.

Silence is shocking to people who have never experienced it. Most have never lived a moment without their cacophony of inner voices. Silence is not the absence of sound it is the Presence of Silence.
I believe that when Jesus was born the Bible says,, and suddenly there was with the Angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying. Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace good will towards man.
Emanuel does means,,, God with us. That's what I believes when All of heaven were silent.
Only a prophet can Reveal to you why there was silence for the space of half an hour because the secrets of the Lord must come to a prophet.
@@eagleeyes6642 Not necessary, to be a prophet for to reveal revelation of of God's word, but to have his Holy Spirit, which he is the revealer. So I truly believe that this is what God reveal to me concerning this passage but I'm open to others interpretations.

Rev 8:1--And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence
in heaven about the space of half an hour.
To start, many seem to think that the 7 seals are broken over a long
period of time. Many try to say over 7 years. But what is explained is
that the Lord breaks the seven seals one after another. Many have
wondered what was the meaning of the 7th seal.
First, we are told nothing about what happens or takes place after
the seals are broken. In the rest of Revelations, every action comes
from heaven and is lead by an angel. The silence is our not being
told anything about what takes place.
The 7th seal tells us how long this silence takes place. When you
look at the face of a clock, what number represents a "half an hour"?
The number 6. How long is this period of "6"? Some have said six
months, but this is for about the space of 6 years.
We have Israel being defeated and the people scattered for 1260 days.
We have World War and the defeat of Gog by the Lord God, seven
months buring bodies and 7 years burning equipment. You also
have the Lord returning to Mount Zion for 3+ years (threescore and
two weeks) and restore Jerusalem and build the Temple.
We are told of this time period in: Dan. 8:4-9, Dan. 11:3-30, Zech.
5 thru 11, Ezek. 38 and 39, Luke 21:10-36, Mark 13:8-13 and Matt.
24:7-14.
The about six years end in 2029 when the Trumpets start to
sound in Rev. 8:6.
Christ's second coming is in chapter 19.

Father what do the church have communion with the eathiopian and Eritrean church ?
A shared history and communion up until the time frame of Chalcedon. But due to the fact that they share a common history up until that point from the outside and practice there are many similarities. Eucharistic, saints, Theotokos, hierarchy. Many many crossovers. But ultimately a very different christology and soteriology

Unrelated to this video, but can someone help me understand.
What role can things like traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda or Reiki play to a Christian person? Let's say as an alternative to Western medicine, for example.
I know Father Seraphim Rose advised against doing Yoga - what about acupuncture? What about Tai Chi & Qigong? Etc.
A lot of people would ouright dismiss anything they don't know and that is not explicitly Orthodox Christian. But is it not true that tools (which I see them as) are not good or bad but neutral, and it depends how they are used?
