    42:35 i'd advise not holding back too much the usage of the skill. Each enemy in the game has strengths and weakness, you'll come across enemies who will shrug and laugh at this skill, then beat you up xD besides, using or not the skill, the merit of the dodges are still yours.

    Congratulations on your victories, such a pleasure to see you enjoying getting to grips with the game. The Marionettes (Witchbane Ruin) are always a pain due to their misfunction technique but one of my favourite summons are the Marionette Archers. That Crucible Knight is such a good test of your ability, it took me many tries to kill him but the excitement at finally doing it was fantastic. There are a few dungeons that you have missed and a lot of the night time stuff, so I will just say there are three types of night enemies and one comes from the hut you were last at and there is another close(ish) by. The floating ball is a magic guardian, you missed that it had just fired again as you killed it hence the hits after it's death and don't worry Sellen's story continues and you will be able to Atone for your attack.

    @2:09 Adding an affinity when you apply an Ashes of War to your weapon will usually change damage and stat scaling. For example, if you add an elemental affinity like magic, then you will add magic damage to your weapon, but reduce physical damage. Still the combined total of both should be more than it was originally. For a magic affinity, it will also add attribute scaling for intelligence, but reduce the scaling for physical damage (dex & str). Adding an affinity for elemental damage also makes the weapon incompatible with weapon buffs like fire grease, or magic spells. Adding an affinity without elemental damage (standard, keen, heavy) will not affect your ability to use weapon buffs.

    You probably already noticed, but many enemies like the Crucible Knights have "fake combo enders" designed to catch you. That is, you think its your time to attack after dodging a pair of their attacks, but no, they then perform another additional attack that hits you. After a while you learn to not be greedy and wait to real openings before attacking.
    Also, remember, some enemies or enemies gear, like heavy shields, can repel your weaker attacks. You can avoid this either using a weapon with high flick power (like hammers), or two handling your weapon.

    • @Baayya
      @Baayya  21 день назад

      yess, I know this and still get caught by same moves over and over again. So I was really mad at myself and not at the boss and it's design. I do forget to two-hand my weapons though.. been an issue since Dark Souls Remastered lol. Thank you for the tip

  • @rubvillaz
    @rubvillaz 21 день назад +6

    8:18 Don’t worry, the good thing is you didn’t accidentally kill Sellen.
    At her original location (waypoint ruins site of grace) where you discovered her, IF by some chance she’s hostile to you, just leave her be. In Dark Souls, you can request Absolution, same thing in ER. Except you have to find it on your adventures… it’s far outside of Limgrave. It will be a church with a friendly looking “pope” of some sort. In it, is a statue, where you can absolve your sins
    These games are soo good but i don’t know how most people play without looking up help cuz when i first saw Sellen like that, I wouldn’t have figured out how to help. It’s confusing because sometimes you have to progress through the story to continue 1 questline but can be damaging to a different questline if you progress too further.

  • @Shmebulokson
    @Shmebulokson 21 день назад

    Rolling into an NPC can also do things sometimes. Don't know if it works with the ahackled sorceress but there are more options to interact with an NPC than attacking them.
    "Tell me what to do" - no answer - "attacking must be the only option!"
    You can make your own marks on the map if you want to save the location of the walking mausoleum.
    You had the wrong flasks out in where you met the chariot, so it looked like they would be empty. Remember you have different ones in this game, only crimson tears heal you.
    This guy gives you a question you can mostly answer at least, later you have NPCs making you make a decision without any information. You can think about what to do then, perhaps you react to it better than me.

    • @Baayya
      @Baayya  17 дней назад

      Violence is my second name, what can I do xD I'll try rolling next time
      I'm pretty sure I had the correct flasks.. I feel like my flasks disappeared once that thing on wheels turned to me? Maybe I'm imagining things, should just go and test it again.
      oh noo, that's going to be so stressful, I can already feel it. Hopefully, I'll not mess every quest up

    • @Shmebulokson
      @Shmebulokson 15 дней назад

      That's how I know you😂
      I'm pretty sure you had the mana flask out but I'm not completely sure, could have been wrong interpretation.
      Don't worry, questlines in FromSoft games go like they go. Messing them up would mean you do something wrong, wich is not given when you don't know. Also a quest giver not giving you enough information sets you up for not "completing" the task, so it's their fault. That's why I killed most of them, why should I do stuff for somebody not willing to tell me enough to do the stuff right? In FromSoft games you don't mess up questlines, they just have different outcomes and we are not really in the position to tell what's good and what's bad.

    Just a heads up, there is a cave in the Weeping Peninsula you missed, you can see the entrance to the right of the Minor Erdtree. It probably won't give you much for rewards, but you can find a bunch of smithing stones there, which are always helpful. There is also a village in the middle of the Peninsula, but it's a bit tricky to find. Of course you can always come back and do them anytime. And grats on beating some very tough bosses! Crucible Knights are ridiculous but can be parried pretty easily. (P.S. Don't forget the turtle tower! The reward is worth it.)

    Another awesome episode! Great job on that last fight with the Crucible Knight, those guys suck. Don't worry too much about the quest lines, just make sure you go back and visit everybody once in awhile. Many of the quests are very long and you're not going to get every step of it, but fromsoft is very forgiving in this game where you can miss certain encounters and still complete the quest. This next thing is a suggestion of something you can try off camera. I like to use the gate front ruins where you found the whet blade as a practice area with new weapons and new ashes of War. Just remember this is where you can practice the move sets, all the weapons you try out are not going to be upgraded so they don't do much damage. One more thing. There are many more moves in this game. Light attack, strong attack, charged attack, jumping attack, running attack, crouching attack, and backstep attack. When you try out a new weapon try all of these things because you may find some really cool moves that you'd like to use. Good Times!

    Congrats on taking out the sentinal on horseback. Magnificent! Did you get the golden seed, across from where the NPC gave you the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes? I like those chariots, they're fun. A few things to note:
    1) Where you fought the Ancient Hero of Zemor, he dropped the Radagon Seal, which is now in your inventory, not sure if you caught that.
    2) The Winged Scythe deals holy damage against the dead, such that they will not respond, after killing them on the first try(at least for most of them). The sycthe is a good weapon to keep handy.
    3) The game is generous, in that, if you are killed after fighting a boss in an evergaol, you can retrieve your runes, graciously, before entering in again.
    4) Like weapons, ashes of war can also be strengthened.

    If you don't wanna use blood damage cuz you think it's too easy and it removes all the fun then okay, but if you think that's cheating, that's a reasoning I really don't understand 😅

      nooo, maybe the way I put it was wrong, I didn't mean that. All I meant is that I wanted to challenge myself against the Tree Sentinel and decided not to use the Blood Slash. I did use it against Zamor and enjoyed destroying the boss that way! xD
