By the next episode I'll make a decision on what to level up lol! Hopefully 😅 So much to choose from already... Oh and I misunderstood when I thought I'll get two swords in that Highroad Cave but hey, one is better than nothing Also, I've put time stamps in the description for every boss fight. All six of them! Left a bit more exploring in this time, hope you don't mind
One thing I forgot to mention about 2-handing Claymore with 11-strength. You will be able to use the light & strong attacks, but the skill (Lions Claw) will only work if you meet the 16 strength requirement. Sorry about not mentioning that. Lions Claw is awesome though, does 6x stance damage and 2.4x physical damage - it can melt bosses.
The early areas are all about exploring it will get less prevalent as you progress so have fun finding stuff and trying out all the tools at your disposal as you hone your Tarnished into a warrior worthy of being The Elden Lord.
Nice paythrough! You were on the right track, when hitting the tower-don't give up!. I hope you can find the traitor that Blaidd mentioned-good payoff for that quest. Also, when travelling at night, be on your guard. Use any means at your disposal to defeat enemies, as this is how the game was meant to be played, so what ever weapon you choose is entirely up to you! :-)
I'm glad you didn't miss Boc's quest! By the way I don't know if you noticed but, the Erdtree Avatar is basically the Asylum Demon from DS1, same attacks and very similar design. Very cool reference.
"I am Sellen. You buyin?" You found lots of good stuff this episode. I'm also impressed by how helpful and non-spoilery the comments are! Just a small suggestion though, don't bother killing the enemies around the mausoleum unless you want to farm. I made the same assumption you did and wasted a lot of time thanks to that poorly-worded note lol.
Hi Baya, regarding your problem with the darkness, you can be purchase a lantern from the Nomadic Merchant in Liurnia of the Lakes. This will allow you to have light and you have your hands free for weapons at the same time.
The guidance of grace will always stay active on the map dw about it, and its not just to show main story , more like the main (dungeon/boss) of the area in general
So much fun today! I could watch this for hours. The flask of wondrous physick, pronounced physic, replenishes itself every time you rest. Nice to use before bosses and in difficult areas. When you pick up an item you don't need to search for it, with the DLC came a great change. The first page of your inventory is all the latest item pickups.
You sound like me on my first play through. I wanted to buy everything, and I did by farming like Old Mcdonald. Lol. It's one of the reasons it took me 1k hours to beat the game. I bought everything, upgraded everything, and took my time.
@Baayya yes I did. Watching your videos, I can see that in the fights, you are way better than I am. If I could find a way to shoot something from a distance, I did. The Tree Sentinel, dragons, the giant stone golem, all of them taken out with a bow. Sometimes magic but more often, a bow.
Buy a lantern from the Merchant Kale near where you first started. You can equip it to keep your hands free. And invest at least 25 points in Faith if you want some good damage/defense buffs for later. You'll need it.

Everyone at RT has a story except the twin husks (merchant) so keep talking to them all. Ashes of War can be fitted at any Grace but pay attention to their weapon limitations. Behind the Third Church of Marika is a very nice Ash and you will see why it is important to kill everything at least once. The Glowing Candelarbras produce a guide which takes you to a "dungeon" you might miss. Once you have discovered the area they stop working. Yura starts under the bridge, you went to his second location first - another story that is worth finishing. When you are dual-wielding (whatever the mix) the Ash that works varies depending on the hand so always look above your Quick Bar to see which is active. You still haven't discovered your pouch by the look of it. On a PS console when you press triangle you get access to 4 more quick slots. Skeletons are Undead so they keep coming back, there is an Ash which is very good against them and all undead/death's creatures - really rips through them Sellen is wearing a helmet - there are several that are "heads" like that. Thank you very much, forward to the next fight. Keep having fun.
Hi Baya, You can buy lantern from merchant in west side of weeping pennisula, light candlestick poles ghost lead you to loot. U could go with a Quality build then you can use everything the game offers!😊
If you have a whetblade called the whetbstone knife, you will have an 'Ashes of War' option when you rest at a site of grace. Use that to apply ashes of war. If you do not have a whetstone knife, then the blacksmith at Round Table Hold can apply ashes of war. You can only apply ashes of war to standard weapons. Special / unique weapons are not compatible with Ashes of War. Applying ashes of war to a weapon does not consume it. It can be removed and added to a different weapon as you please. (If and when you get the 'Sacred Blade' ash of war, it should work with your sword and it's very effective on skeletons and undead)
@@EndertheWeek I believe you are mistaken sir. Try starting a new game, and try to apply an ashes of war without having the Whetstone Knife which is the first whetblade you typically get. You won't have an 'Ashes of War' option on your site of grace menu.

On your first playthrough, it's best to pick one damage type to to put your points into - you will have an easier time and be stronger. Thank you for the tip. I wanted to have a couple more points in arc or faith to get at least one spell. I think I'll end up farming a lot at some point lol, so many possibilities already
@@Baayya Actually 12 in Faith give you access to s few useful support incantations. Such as healing, curing poison/scarlet rot, fortification spells, and some weapon buffs. There's a guy in roundtable hold that sells some of those...
I feel like it's a little less than 40 percent into the game... I did a re spec on my character at maybe 20 some hours in, and I just beat dragon lord pluci at 106.
The sword in a cave mentioned last episode is in the Deathtouched Catacombs which are up on the plateau across the road from where you met Warrior Jar Alexander, which is west of the Highroad Cave. Not sure if you ever found that one yet? You can see a statue of Rosus which will point at that catacomb on the hilltop near where Alexander is/was. The Shamshir is a nice curved sword you could use also, if you like it, but you might like the one in the Deathtouched Catacombs even more.
Hi once again Baya. I see you have met Blaidd. Unfortunately he explains his mission to capture his prey but not the location of his prey. I’ll give you a hint, a gray circle just north of the Bridge of Sacrifice that leads to Weeping Peninsula.
Since you've been asking about intended way to go I'm reminding you about what Varre said at very beginning: "go to the Stormveil Castle..." 😊 Optionally you might want to explore rest of Limgrave before that. My advice is to keep to main paths first and then go explore everything. (mini spoiler below) To kill undead of any kind best is to have holy infused weapon, one scarab with holy ash of war is to found on main road from mistwood north pass the church, when road starts to climb the hill.
Another video, nice! You see guidance of grace not always at main story but often important points of interest and side stories, for example Edgar's(Irina's father) story as you probably figured out is not entirely finished and will continue later so the game guides you there to progress this quest
Just northwest of the Saintsbridge sight of grace in Limgrave is a catacomb where you'll find a weapon I think you'd find interesting, a favorite among many dex players.
Some ashes of war are bound to specific weapons all the rest are interchangable so you can always apply them to different weapon at grace or at blacksmith.
a tip on dual wielding, you can dual wield any type of weapon as long as they are in the same category, like: curved sword X curved sword/ dagger X dagger/ ultra great sword X ultra great sword, etc etc and then you just press L1, and to plunge attack like in the previous game you have to press R2 (heavy atack)
another tip on pots, you can buy them at merchants or find them in the overworld, pot work very differently on elden ring than other previous games, you craft them with the crafting kit using materials and after you use them the pot regenerate themselves on your inventory and then you'd have to craft more of them, pots in this game are veeeeery good, especially the status effect ones, you can even cheese bosses with them
one last thing, if you intend to co op/invade in a lot of places i suggest activating every summoning pool you encounter (the statues with an inverted arch)
The source of the strange singing you heard at the cliffside near the end of the episode was coming from one of the bats you killed when you dropped down. One looked different from the others. I found this in my own playthrough but didn't stop to figure it out, and had to look it up when you found it. It's singing about the Weeping Peninsula in Latin.
In order to be able to use two handed weapons in dark areas you will need a lantern. You can buy one from the "Isolated merchant's shack" located in the south-west area of the map near the beach.
I'm catching up on older videos I missed, but have seen the latest. The crossbow you are using is perfectly fine for doing ranged damage, but for much greater distance and more damage overall, I still recommend buying the Longbow from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold and leveling it up after you have leveled up your preferred and important melee weapons. And use its weapon art Mighty Shot. It is sooooo good and its power will scale with your Dex. I think you also still would do well to have a good Strike damage weapon like the Morning Star or Flail in your kit and level it up for fighting miners, crystallians, and other enemies who have crusty or rocky skins resistant to swords and spears.
I set changing weapons to the side buttons of my mouse, already did that in DS1. It's so much more convenient. Look at you now slaying skeletons easily. Last time that seemed so much more stressful.
Uh, Baya, you can look at the map you've uncovered and see all the churches, caves, castles, etc... it's not just for show, everything on the map is there. Reading notes? Crazy, I have never seen this before.
You definitely should visit the ruins in the lake where you fought the dragon. Ask your steed for some help to find an interesting thing) Another couple non-spoiler advices: you can immideately hit the slain skeleton as soon as it start glowing to prevent its resurrection. No need to wait for them starting to stand up. And about Claymore - its not stupid) Actually its one of the best early- and mid-game weapons, you just do not meet its strength requirement, thats why damage so low. For easier way to wield a weapon you do not have enough strength for is two-handing it. This way your strength attribute will become 1.5x more. For ex. if a weapon requires 30 strength to wield it then you need only 20 to be able to have it in a two-handed way with no penalties.
@@Baayya Okay, beware, Im gonna spoil to you a little thing - Every ruins in the game has a basement, and sometimes two of them. And the second one might be well hidden from direct sight, but as I said before - Torrent will help you. He can do one thing your character can't. And that thing is the solution for this and many other secrets.
hi baya, your making good progress. your ashes of war are not one use items, you can use them as much as you like. so you could put the spinning slash on a different weapon.
@@Baayya same with your wonderous flask of physicks, you can change the tears whenever you like. for example i use a tear that gives me unlimited focus points and one that stops ruin loss on death.
Please note that when doing the "Find Three Wise Beasts" puzzle, if you rest or fast travel, you have to read the book again to reactivate the beasts, though any beast you already found and hit remains found, so if you have hit one so far, you have to read the book again, then find and hit the other two still to solve the puzzle. I recommend looking very carefully close around the tower before running off looking farther away. Not sure if you solved this by now yet?
Most if not all locations with "ruins" in the name, got some little underground with treasure, you need to check again some places you visited for missing important items 😊 Btw you have all new player traits except of climbing - after all older Fromsoft titles ability to jump and double jump on horse is a big one. Don't forget that you can loot from horse but can't use interactive things, open doors, chest etc. Reposte works only if you in front of enemy and using standard attack, when you press heavy attack or skill you'll mess up occasion, so don't spam and be aware😅
Most cook books you'll find around the map or on quest the others merchants will sell them. Armor wise Raging wolf is best light Armor dlc as the best armor sets & best swords best shield is Tree greatshield
Since you haven't been rolling into walls, (or floors), I'm going to make one more soft suggestion to buy Margit's shackle. I promise I never will mention this again.
Cook book you need to collect all of them they give you better heal flasks, magic, faith incantations. Claymore is a great weapon it won't let you down
Heh, you want to be and do all the things. It all looks so fun, doesn't it? And it is! But to do anything well in this game you have to focus. So, if you want to be a Dex build, you need to be putting your points into Dex (after making sure Vigor and Endurance are up to helpful levels). If you also put points into Int to be able to cast spells, or Faith to cast incantations/do dragon breaths, you will be weak as a Dex melee build and also not very strong at the spells or breaths. What you want to do is later playthroughs being a mage or cleric or dragon priest where you get to focus on one of those at a time. It's possible of course to do split builds, but they are better if you know in advance what you are doing. However, if you really want to be able to heal or cure poison, etc., these kinds of incantations can be worth getting a few points in Faith to be able to cast, even if you are a Dex build. Either 12 or 15 Faith are good numbers if you want to go that route.

@@steeharry1 that sounds very op lol
@@Baayya yeah, but they only last a couple of minutes.
@@steeharry1 still, if you know you're risking losing your runes that can be a life saver
Most if not all locations with "ruins" in the name, got some little underground with treasure, you need to check again some places you visited for missing important items 😊
Btw you have all new player traits except of climbing - after all older Fromsoft titles ability to jump and double jump on horse is a big one. Don't forget that you can loot from horse but can't use interactive things, open doors, chest etc.
Reposte works only if you in front of enemy and using standard attack, when you press heavy attack or skill you'll mess up occasion, so don't spam and be aware😅
I use 1,2,3,4 instead of arrows. Works so much with my left fingers
Most cook books you'll find around the map or on quest the others merchants will sell them. Armor wise Raging wolf is best light Armor dlc as the best armor sets & best swords best shield is Tree greatshield
I'm up to ng +9 in this game, there are quite a lot of builds that can be done.
Instead of using a torch you can buy a lantern from a merchant little later in the game
She did it at the end
@isaias36 no worries 👍
Since you haven't been rolling into walls, (or floors), I'm going to make one more soft suggestion to buy Margit's shackle. I promise I never will mention this again.
hmm, but I've seen comments saying that there aren't any illusory walls that early in the game so I wasn't trying to find any yet
@@Baayya okay
Cook book you need to collect all of them they give you better heal flasks, magic, faith incantations. Claymore is a great weapon it won't let you down
I'll try my best to buy them all!
👍🏼
Funny and sad that hugs make you weaker 😅
Indeed😅
Yeah, we trade 5% of our health for a one time use of a ten second boost to our poise. Not a good trade. Of course, we can get rid of the baldachin blessing any time we get one, so...free hugs all we like from a nice, soft-spoken blonde lady.
You don't lose the ash of War when you equip it, you can move it. Did you ever find the basement at the Gate Front Ruins? Muy importante!
True. By the way, I think all ruins have a basement: it's just well hidden in some ruins.
@@johngreen5808 yes, I can't specifically say it's 100%, but it's very close.
@@grogueQ do you mean Groveside Cave (Beastman of Farum Azula boss)?
@@Baayya no, in the camp at the start where there are bunch of knights near the grace you've encountered Melina for the first time, there's a basement too
@@Baayya Gatefront Ruins where you found the first map marker. Right before that troll you had so much fun with in the first episode. It's actually called the gatefront ruins on the map. There's a basement there. Near the dogs.
She basically sucks the life out of you.
Idk how you are so blind. Didn't even notice the red ❌ on clamore because you don't meet the stats requirement. That's why you're not doing any damage. I am 80% to this video. I hope you realise that soon atleast if not this video
