- The M103 Is a 7.7 American heavy tank in War Thunder. This is one of those tanks I will never play again, solid shot is terrible no matter the size. The IS-4M not only has a better gun, but it also has armor that works, this thing can be one shot extremely easily. Im not really a fan of this tank, maybe if it got an aphe round it would be worth it, but otherwise it isnt.

Have you ever joined up with DOLLAR in a match before?
I have never, or at least I'm not aware of it
The M103 stock grind is extremely painful but its an absolute menace in a downtier and when you get that heat fs its an absolute menace in an uptier
The stock grind was pure pain
the grind for usa tanks is horrible at first but damn does it pay off
in uptiers it cant atleast be onshot by maus (bad grammer bru) unlike the leopard 1

It saddens me to see you also disliking solid shot, I'm personally more of a fan of it due to its consistency from the front and rear. Hell, 7.7 French tanks literally gave me my first two nukes that I could also drop. Don't forget the amount of times APHE fragments can get eaten by components.
Also, M103 an easy one-shot? That thing can tank even 100mm soviet APFSDS, I can't count the amount of times I had trouble penning its hull and turret even when I thought it was mostly unangled.
French 7.7 tanks have viable solid shot since they have fast autoloaders. Having a 15-second reload on a round that might do absolutely no damage is terrible. Same thing with the conqueror, but that one is worse since it's apds
@@ThiccYoroi I guess, but then it doesn't make sense to call solid shot itself shit when it's mainly the reload time that is shit. Even the IS tanks that use one-shotting APHE are inferior to what they face simply, because their reload time is just not competitive.

in wotb, this tank is notorious. but in war thunder, its not bad.

I play surbaise just cuz it autoloader with same rounds, but now ima grind for m103 now that I have alot of experience using that type of solid shot round.

@ThiccYoroi Thanks, also I don't like the M103 either, or any of the mid tier American heavy tanks for that matter, the only ones I even remotely like is the T26E5 and the T29, none of the others feel good to me

Suggestion: Go for either crew or just go for the propellant.
Solid shot loves to damage ammo but not make it cook off.

I guess there’s a reason there’s half a BR difference between them.
Its probably because it gets a Heatfs round and a turret. Foch does have way better mobility, even if its a casemate
@@ThiccYoroi it is indeed very entertaining being able to flank and outmanouvere even some of the more mobile medium tanks in something which should definetly should not be able to do that.

You should play the amx-50 surbaisse, it pretty much as the same ammo as the m103 and looks much cooler
