Ditto. People don’t appreciate the ability to communicate is a totally different skill set from the ability to executive techniques. Great that Shintaro has both in abundance.

Sensei, thank you. You have a way of explaining and breaking down the throw that explain essential steps and it is easy to understand. I love Tai Otoshi. I always trained it RvR and never thought about RvL until I discovered your channel and now I can't stop thinking about the variations for other throws!!! Thank you Sensei!

if tai otoshi is good for RVL, uchi mata is good for RVL, what is good for RvR ? (excluding drop seoi nage)

disclaimer: every judoka has different attributes that factor into best throws for a RVR / RVL
little things can change the best combos - like if you get stiff arms, tall / short uke, heavy / light uke, stubborn versus flow... etc. there's no one size fit all. The rule I follow is attack uke's reaction.
things to try & experiment with - how about: RVR kosoto gari can open the uke to the RVL stance which leads to an opening for Tai Otoshi, UM, Harai Goshi etc. Another RVR option - how about Sasai / Hiza to uke left foot / knee followed by regular osoto gari.
