But honestly I think part of it is not Chael being starstruck per se. I think he finds Islam very compelling and more entertaining as time goes on, like he respects his mannerisms and dry style, so he was really eager for this interview.

I don’t think people realize just how high level Islam is. His grappling is just as good as Khabib’s and his striking is better. Dustin is a great, well rounded fighter and Islam will make him look below average.
Ohh I’d argue his grappling is even higher than khabib. When khabib was comming up nobody had seen his style of ground leg control. Everyone trains for that now. Islam much better. No disrespect to the legend but just being honest.
His submissions are better for sure. Overall grappling maybe, but Khabib's take downs are stronger, and his ability to keep you there with the cleanest and technical ground and pound is not only better than Islam's, but the best ive ever seen
His Judo and BJJ is for sure better than Khabib's. He doesn't have that same degree of dominance, but he's a proper boogeyman, because he's the better striker and the better submission specialist.
Islam is a better striker on a technical level yet i feel he's easier to KO then Khabib. Khabib had a chin of wakandan steel, islam does not

for me it was ,i dislike islam 😚 but i still found it also funny
Pereira has 4 wins in the MW division, got starched in his first title defense, and immediately got a title eliminator at LHW, which he won by split decision. Islam has 14 wins at LW and 2 title defenses, yet they complain about him wanting to move up. Make it make sense.
I think if Islam was moving up and taking a title eliminator fight and not an immediate title fight they would be fine with it. Also Adesanya got his 1 win out of 4 fights and was not gunna give Alex a rematch.
I will make it make sense. Pereira was enormous at middleweight and the cut was too crazy so he moved up. He needed to move up and they gave him Jan. Do you think he deserved someone lower ranked? I don't.
