I was born in Bryan in 1983, was raised there until I was 5 and then we moved to Schulenburg and have remained ever since. I need to take a weekend trip to my hometown soon and rediscover it. The older I get the more sentimental I get about things like this. Thanks for this video!

My husband just asked what the best BBQ place was in Bryan since we’re on our way. No point in google-ing, I waged bets Chet included it in a video-and there it was! Thanks!

I'm German and lived there for a while... I'm not American but if I feel connected to any state and city is Bryan TX and College Station. Been there in 2018 and 2019 again. Loved it. I miss Texas and the US...hope this Corona thing ends soon.

I really enjoyed your video! I was in Bryan not long ago for the first time and fell in love with the place. Something for everyone and some of the nicest folks around.

It's very historic that's what I like about it.I was born in Bryan,Tx in 1984,traveled away ,and came right back.No matter what I just love being a country girl with class.I actually stay in the town connected to it ;which is College Station,Tx. It was called twin cities back in the day.

If you drive down Texas Avenue.Main Bryan road from College Station. No need to know where the city limits sign is. It's like you just stepped in North Korea once you hit Bryan
Overgrown Lots, abandoned buildings for decades, boards burglar bars. This goes on for miles.
Only thing positive is very little traffic compared to College Station on the same road. Everybody turns off before going into Bryan.
I realize Bryan is a very poor City but at least somebody should buy a lawn mower.

That's why taking College Rd. from College Station to downtown Bryan is a lot nicer drive (or just taking the hwy 6 to William J. Bryan exit.)

This area is also in the middle of the Bryan Ghettos and is in a Gang injunction zone. Lots of shooting in the DT areas. Also a July 4 2021 riot,

Я согласен. It’s a dump. Can’t believe they haven’t torn down that Queen theatre. Боже мой.

Bryan is ghetto and poor. Bryan doesn't make that much noise. Come to La Marque and Texas City.

I wouldn't agree that it was dead in the 80s, 90s yes. In the 80s it was just different. Different types of businesses back then mostly clothing, groceries, few places to eat and a lumberyard. It has definitely changed for the better.

Love the vid. Have to say, though... WORST old fashion I ever saw made. Randy is correct, though. That carried into the 90's. The planners turned DT Bryan around. In the 60's it was a place where you wore your Sunday best. It declined from there, and then around the turn of the century they really made it happen. Now ever first Friday of the month you cannot find a parking spot. Very impressed how everyone worked together to revitalize DT.

I visit downtown Bryan often starting 2021. It is a very pleasant place to visit with all of the restaurants and nice clean roads and sidewalks. For being so close to College Station and Texas A&M, I appreciate they don't pump that stuff into the city to attract visitors.

This is not how downtown is. The bars are ghetto

A lot of downtown Bryan is ghetto. With all the growth happening around the city It's about time they start building newer and taller buildings downtown.

Not even the Variscos, Salvaggios, Scamardos, or Corts could save it.
