I have been watching and enjoying these videos. I hope that all the restaurants featured are able to survive the pandemic. Bless the owners and workers.
So in Chicago they do something similar, take an Italian sausage and put with Italian beef. They call it a "combo" been doing it for decades its fantastic as well.
Love Hullabaloo! It gets crowded sometimes and there's a wait, but i live at wellborn & Fitch so i can easily go back if i don't want to wait. Never been to philly, but i can attest to the statement that their sandwich is the best I've ever tasted. Get a to-go box if you have to, but don't DARE skip a pie offering! Great clip, sir!
I graduated from A&M vet school 40 years ago come August 24. I lived in a trailer park off S. Dowling Road, within easy walking distance. Unfortunately, Neely's Store and post office was the only business there at that time. Did frequent the Dixie Chicken and Slovacek's in Snook, though! Gig 'Em!
Thank you for so many great recommendations. Please consider adding a Road Dog 🐕 section for those of us who travel w our furry family members. Thank you, Bark Bark 😘
Me and my parents are actually friends with the owners we live like 5 minutes away my parents get pizza on Friday for us here so we know it pretty well
Went there a month or two ago. This place is half closed down, probably because of Covid. The diner part wasn't open anymore. We could only get bar food in the bar. The food was alright. Didn't get to eat anything in this video. I guess it will come back?
Good food, but I would be willing to bet he can get some Texas Beef to make those Philly steaks that would be as good or better than him bringing it all the way from Philly. Would be interesting to see where the beef he is buying from Philly actually came from. They may cut it and process it in Philly, but doubtful it is raised in PA.
Any reason the Philly cheesesteak could not be made with Texas beef and Texas-baked bread? Is there anything that must be "imported" to taste like the "original"? Surely they can make it taste the same and still support the State they are taking advantage of today. I wouldn't eat there if I knew the meat and bread comes from the East coast! Yuck!
Went there on a Saturday night visiting the college and were the only one in the diner at 7pm. Felt strange no one was eating there. Ordered the phili cheese steak sandwich. Took 30 minutes to receive order. Sandwich was cold cheese was not melted. Terrible sandwich. We could see in the back the cook was very young almost teenage age. My wife’s burger was also cold cheese not melted and she asked for mayo on bun they put extra mustard. Sent it back and they scraped the mustard off and put mayo on it. Sent it back again as it still had mustard on the bread. Top it off we ordered two french fries and received one order as they were out. We will never be back to this over rated poor service dive!!
