dude, i have ddr3 memory in single channel, i put ddr3 ram in another channel and this message showed me.. should i just ignore it and use it? hp probook455
So basically, since I have confirm the DDR type and the voltage on the laptop I use, does that mean I can replace it with the Ram from different brand as long as the the type and voltage the same? I'm currently using a sodimm 4G DDR3L from unknown brand (there's no brand written on the Ram) and I'm thinking of switching it with 8G DDR3L from V-Gen or Kingston.
Told me everything I needed to know. I was hoping there was a quick fix, but I'll invest in the right RAM to avoid any issues. Great tutorial, thank you!
Yeah I just learned that one the hard way. Not knowing much about ram I researched for few weeks. I narrowed down that I needed a DDR3. What I did not see or know was what you say in vid. So I get this 6gb Samsung ram at a $40 waste now. Install and get boot alert you show. So now back to the drawing board. HP Elitebook 840 G1- I need a DDR3 card with the letter L after pc correct? Now as to the card I got which is moreless a paper weight. I have a older HP Notebook 2000 running AMD processor. Would that card work or no go in that?
Thanks for the video! But can you go the other way? ie. can you use DDR3L inside a laptop that was using DDR3? will DDR3L be stable inside that laptop, or should you get DDR3 that the laptop came with as standard?
Very professional and informative video dude! I’m hoping my ram will definetly work with my new system... I’ve just purchased some timetec sodimm ddr3L (1600mhz) for my asrock m8 that was given to me by my bro this year it’s a mini itx pc from 2014, which supports ddr3 1600mhz (cited on the Asrock website )and contains an i7 4770k. Ddr3L 1600mhz was the recommended (Max) ram for my system according to timetec’s memory finder, and I think it should be supported , but I just wanted to get a second opinion from someone who is clearly knowledgeable on the subject !
Hi, I know this is an old post but wondering how is the laptop, I have setup and wanting to change same as you,is everything working fine, thanks again
is it a major problem to use ddr3 ram on ddr3l slot intel 4th generation processor? or it is just a little problem? Stability will reduce at what degree?
From my experience, it didn't show any major problem, but I was using the laptop for only light applications like surfing the web, and text editing. If you intend to use your laptop for heavy applications like graphic design or video editing, then coordination between the processor and the RAM may be affected due to the voltage imbalance, and that could crash such program. Also you should definitely avoid combining the 1.5v and 1.35, that could be more defective
Since I installed an unsupported ram my game started crashing and outside of the game my screen freezes a lot etc... I have no problem cuz I changed my hard drive recently so can unsupported ram cause this?
running on my linux computer it works just fine, however when i power off the laptop i have to pull the battery or it doesnt shut down fully and just reboots lol. little irritating
How sir i have two laptop one is DELL, hard disk is SSD 128GB, Ram 4gb, Processor core i3, i can play pubg game without graphic card The other one is hp Elite book hard disk is SSD 128GB, Ram 8GB, processor core i5 but i can't play pubg games so what is the reason

it will, ddr3l is dual voltage memory, so works with 1.5v too, like regular ddr3
@@413fps Thank you. Actually since asking my question, I already bought the DDR3L memory and installed it in my laptop and it works fine!
thanks men, Yes I was encountered that too, on my HP AMD A6 5th gen.
Good to know it helped you out, thanks for the feedback!

This was helpful! Thank you so much.

What will happen if i did not remove the ddr3 ram?
It could lead to some malfunctioning
@@EasyTechs thank you
i have DDR3 1600mhz ram inbuilt, should i buy DDR3L.
Windows recognizes the memory added, but I should remove it right?
Is better to use the recommended memory
What ddr3 compatible processor
