Oh yes. The early Ventures! I practiced this on relentlessly in the early '60's. Took me forever to play the fast stuff!

This was a single back in 1964 by the Dakotas, Billy J Kramers back up band...did pretty good on British top 40.......
sorry that was 1963 and reached #18
Serious top tier guitar instrumental ! The Dakotas version sounds really fast, almost sounds like a 12 String sound and for it to be a British record it couldn't sound more surf American.
If you want to hear the Original version it was played and written Mike Maxfield of The Dakotas, Nokie Edwards couldn't play the fast part so he changed it !!!
It is very difficult to play this tune, but you play it very well. It’s wonderful!👍

Used to play this live.Original was by The Dakotas,Got the sheet music when it first came out. I think if I remember that the flip side of the single was Magic Carpet.

10-46 gauge strings, Ernie Ball usually and 1.0 mm pick
