I bought this unit and follow the video and in a snap - I had my phone connected and play music in my old 2009 Lexus RX350!
Buying experience was perfect - few hours after I've place the order I got email that it was shipped. All was in the box. Perfec!
    Thanks GTA!

I bought this kit and had it installed in about 30 minutes. Didn't need the splitter since the stereo is not a multi disc player. Drilled small hole on edge of radio trim for cord and it works awesome. Easy to install after watching this video. Now I can use the patch cord for my mp3 and Satellite radio.

Quickly shipped and using this video as a guide I did the install in an hour. Removal of the radio is reasonably easy with the right tools. The plug and play was easy - routing the connection was not too hard but took a chunk of the time. Very happy with the result and the functionality of this unit. Steering wheel controls work as before. Highly recommended. Works for 04 with cassette and CD

This was a very very helpful video, I bought this car kit after seeing this video because the video showed me exactly what to do.
My car is a 2005 RX with nav. very slightly different configuration on the plugs in the back of the radio, but no problem to figure out. (Use the plug on the right, not the one in the middle). Had trouble with the 2 "hidden" screws; really need to get down low and look kind of up behind the panel to see them. Little magnet tool is a MUST. but I got them out.
Another comment had noted that those screws were really difficult to put back so he (or she) just left them out. I did the same and no problem.
Kit works as advertise, was easy to put in and it a really nice improvement, especially on long trips where we like to listen to audio books.
Thanks a lot for posting this video. made all the difference!

So we put this in my car and instead of a magnet we used a metal string thing to tie it around the bolts in the back so it wouldn’t fall back. This worked very well and allowed us to easily take them out and put them in

Installed this in my 2005 rx330 with tape player and CD changer and it works great. The small connector was on the side instead of the middle, but the rest is the same. I dropped both rear bolts, but the Sears Craftsman lighted pickup tool is great for finding dropped bolts.

Bought product last week, in mail Monday as expected
Quick glance and decided I was going to install now
Put module together in house, went to garage and grabbed suggested tools from video(which I had watched last week as well)
I have pulled my radio out previously to get to my NAV system, so this wasn't my 1st rodeo
Had the radio pulled within 15 minutes, installed module an put back together, 35 min total
1 suggestion, freezer tape on heads of back bolts to hold them in socket to re-installing

Just got one 2 days ago and installed it today. Could have done it in 15 mins. but got careless (did not use magnet) on the first bolt (one of the 2 that was had to reach) and dropped it inside the console. Luckily I got spare M6 bolt in my shop. But overall, video was good, installation experience was good and the car kit was excellent... ironically I was looking for iPhone FM transmitted and car charger when I come accross with this product... and I'm glad i found this one..

you're very welcome. I just finished installing the unit. It literally took me 25 minutes. Your video was almost dead on perfect. The only difference was that on my 2004 RX the plug is not the middle one. Not a big deal since all three plugs are different sizes - makes finding the right plug child's play. The sound is INCREDIBLE loud and perfectly clear. The module works exactly as you advertise. Your product is fantastic and I am very happy. Thank you!

Pretty sure you can slide the center cup holder console BACK to make it easier to pop off the shifter trim piece.

This kit works like a charm! It took about an hour to install, but it's because I was being super careful and doing it slowly. Probably can be done in 20 mins or so if you want. I have a Lexus RX 2004, and the original cd player is kinda dying and often times won't load / play cd, so I really wanted to have an iPod extension / blue tooth. First tried those crappy tape adapter, the quality is absolutely unacceptable. Then I went to Best Buy just to see what they have, was thinking I don't want to deal with it and just have a professional install it. But I didn't see anything I like and then I found this GTA car kit which costs around the same as the other stereos. And the video above is what convinced me to buy this GTA car kit, since it showed such detailed instructions and it didn't look too bad. I bought the GTA kit, the Bluetooth extension, and also the panel removal tools, total of about $180. Then I also got the extension bar, and the magnet pick up tool. Everything mentioned in the video above, and YES! You need them all. Maybe you could do away with the panel removal tool, but I'd recommend getting it too. And everything worked pretty much EXACTLY as this video to described. A couple minor notes for anyone else who have a 2004 instead of a 2007 model RX; 1. Unlike the video above, it didn't need the Y cable. When I pulled out the stereo, there's an empty slot that fits the GTA Car kit. 2. For the 4 bolts holding the stereo, the top ones are indeed tricky to get to as the video says. Unscrewing it wasn't too bad, since I did get the magnet tool and it grabbed the bolt without problem, but I have no clue how to put it back. The stereo is very sturdy with just the bottom two bolts, so I just left the top two out. Didn't want to risk dropping the bolt into who knows wear while trying to screw it back on. 3. For the bluetooth extension, the one touch button was a bit hard to stick. The button comes with double sided tape which wasn't sticky at all. But it's not critical to tape it down I guess, the panel keeps the button pretty stable if you just pull the wire all the way in. Other than these minor things, this kit totally works. Very happy that now I can use my iPod / bluetooth and keeping my original stereo that has the Lexus logo on it!!!!

The best place to run the cable to, is to the glovebox. That is because on this Lexus, the centre console is separated from the dashboard.

I agree with IamMetabol that this is a much better audiophile way than what Goodbear is suggesting. I have the cassette tape adapter and it is usable but I'm not taking advantage of a good sounding sound system (I've upgraded the speakers)
I also tried the FM Modulator way and that is even worse because of "local" interference from nearby frequencies.

Hi, our solution sounds the same as the build in CD player, plus with a tape adapter you won't be able to control anything from the radio, or see the song names. thank you.

installation was exactly as the video said. took me about 30 minutes once I had the right tools (10mm is a MUST, standard sizes will not fit) also, a telescoping magnetic rod is even better with an LED on the tip because I dropped 2 bolts and got them both back no problem.
my only issue is trying to get the AUX jack to work. any tips? I keep pressing CD and it just goes back and forth between the CD Changer and the IPod jack.

Hey Goodbear1, what exactly is the purpose of your post? Obviously if someone is looking at gtacarkits for the module then they already decided that the way easier method you mention is garbage. Sure, if you like hisses, pops, cutouts and white noise worse than fifty year old LP's go right ahead and enjoy your cassette adapter. This is the best option short of spending a thousand dollars for a new stereo system, dash kit, adapters and more. Plus you keep the factory system built for this vehicle
