At least n my original factory Mark Levinson unit there are actually 4 10mm bolts that hold the radio, 2 visible and 2 hidden about 3" deep behind access holes on either side. Fairly easy to get to with an extension bar but take care not to drop the bolt or socket or you'll have a hard time to recover them.
The main purpose of a multimedia monitor in a car is a navigation. Based on the position of this monitor on the video I can imagine how nice and safe it will be driving on a highway at 65m and trying to look down where is your next turn.
Hi! Your video is the best we've watched regarding the replacement of the original head unit of lexus rx. May i ask what kind of resistor you used for the climate control?
I just got a LX470 with the Mark Levinson stereo package. Anyone know if that will create any issues. Not sure what the best double din I should get that works best with this car? Pioneer AVH-3500?
I've considered buying the Kenwood head unit, but went for a Teyes instead for a number of reasons. I was looking for a head unit that provides a more tablet-like experience, so it works more like a standalone device without phone connected required. I just wanted to have my favourite music app and navigation app on the head unit itself. Plus Teyes also has a bigger screen. Also it seemed for me that teyes is easier to connect, in case you are not experienced in soldering. I'm not trying to show teyes as absolutely the best thing. It is just it worked for me the best, and I'm trying to just give options. It is really up to you what to choose, but it would entirely depend on what you want your head unit to do. At last, anything is going to be better that the pre-installed head unit.
Went to 2 different installers and tried 2 different stereos. I have an 07 rx350. I am getting fluctuation in sound volume without me adjusting anything, like it is fading and fading back. Any idea why this is happening? So annoying. Makes listening to music painful.
@@HighlyPaidHandyman I believe the only harness used was the tyot 01 that you used. A lot of people use it for their lexus. But the installer is now saying it might be the factory amp. @@TheEstevanVega If it is the factory amp, which is likely the culprit, then that would make sense that two radios revealed that the issue is still prevalent. You can bypass the factory amplifier, which can sometimes very easy, other times not so much. On the Lexus, I would assume the bypass would not be too difficult.
I don't understand why you didn't experience this issue. Several people have installed aftermarket stereos in their rx, and they don't have this fade problem. What's even weirder, is that is is almost unnoticeable when listening to rap or acoustic. But when listening to a rock song, the sound fades in and out like someone is messing with the stereo or like it is trying to reach a level but can't. I don't get it. The car is an 07, but I bought from a dealer who got it in a trade from an old guy. Car only had 37k, barely driven. A bad amp doesn't seem to make sense because of such low mileage and because I have sound. I have soind with regular factory radio and aftermarket. From what I've read, bad amp is usually no sound. I'm already into this thing a grand. This seems freaking insane. Please help
There is a 12 pin connector that has a white and black wire. Just strip the wire and bridge them together with the resistor from the kit and you're all set. I don't have the instructions anymore, but that's all that need to be done. 7:08 shows what I am talking about. the resistor is non-directional, so just plop it on there, solder it, tape it and you're good!

Through 2009
so yes :)
@@HighlyPaidHandyman do you need the 68 ohm resistor when buying the turn on/amp bypass kit?
None of my stuff came with resistor unless it shows up with the radio
@@jacobbonasera1296 That's weird? It will not come with the radio. It should have come with the kit..., but at least you can just buy one for pennies and throw it in. I'm surprised it didn't come with either the harness or the kit?
@@HighlyPaidHandyman yeah I looked in the turn on kit like 100 times because I know resistors are small. But it is 68ohm correct?
where were you able to plug the usb to? just wondering so i know where to put the usb when i start to change my radio
Are you based in Houston?😭
Tampa, FL
What did you do different cuz I'm not getting any sound out of my speakers.
I installed the TYTO-1 Harness and have sound and fader issues any help?
Don't replaced Mark Levinson!
Wait where you'd get the unit border?
I could not watch this. The background music did me in.
Can't make it through this video due to that music
Background music SUCKS and takes away from the video.
Hey I see 94.1
Holy crap that music is annoying.. I lasted 2 minutes
30 seconds here
I have a 2009 lexus ls 460l and I wanna do this but people act like they scared to do it
Should not be any reason to avoid tackling it. Just hook up some wires and away you go. The resistor is important and you can fry your electronics if you don't take your time. Nothing to be afraid of. A lot worse cars out there
Not a play and plug 🙄
good info if only we could turn down the hypnotic shit music.. kind of unneccesary
Ken wood.... Pause
Tesla screen for lexus rx400h is the best
Awful music, totally unnecessary
No need for the music in the back ground. Massively annoying.
I bought a AI voice control for $260
I wish I could pay you to install mine for me 😭
why? i have a 2008 lexus rx350, and this is simply not worth the bother for me.
Annoying music.
this is crap. buy Teyes.
Can you explain and further support your claim for curiosity sake?
@@HighlyPaidHandyman well, sorry for that disparaging comment. i replaced the set after buying the Lexus RX350 after watching Scotty's video. I got a couple of other replacement sets for my other cars, Teyes was fast, easy to use and way bigger screen. That makes using the touch screen so much easier. I'm older now and need glasses and sometimes when i drive i forget them, the smaller screens are such a female dog for me. They have a few different specs, for budget. don't mean to put you down. you can google can check the specs and make a comparison post, i guess. cheers
Does it work also with the RX400h 2006?
