HOLY SHIT i've never seen an audience get so excited over an orchestra performance and i wanna be there, this is so fun and energetic like i remember seeing somewhere that statistically, Venezuela is the "happiest country" and yeah i can believe it tbh
+magneato DUDE DON'T BELIEVE IT. IM FROM VENEZUELA AND IT'S NOT A HAPPY COUNTRY. THIS WAS IN 2008 BUUUUT WE'RE IN 2016 NOW AND IT'S SO FREAKING HORRIBLE LIKE DO YOU KNOW THE SHIT THAT IT'S HAPPENING???? CARACAS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS CITY *IN THE WORLD* literally so please do not say that
+magneato Aye. Colombian here. Haven't been home in a decade, but from bits of news I've seen, their country was essentially falling under a fascist bastard. He died of cancer, I believe, but the country is still in turmoil from last I heard. Also, they been butting heads with us for a while, especially when that ugly mole was in charge.
This is so wonderful that a group of lovely young people from South America can play this incredibly passionate music written by a Jewish guy in new York 60 years ago and the joy in the audience of young people. I loved for and lived when this was created . I am so lucky to see this . I know Lenny is watching and loving it!
Gustavo Dudamel is the best thing to happen to classical music in decades; he really loves and understands music from top-to-bottom, from left-to-right, right-to-left and inside out. May he have a long and successful career and I hope he can introduce more young people to this music much as he has with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra.
I'm late to the party, but I don't care... this is amazing. I've been listening to music since I was born, playing it since shortly thereafter, and I've never seen such a response from an audience at a symphony concert. That's not confetti they're throwing at the orchestra. Those are flowers. They're throwing flower petals at the musicians and conductor! They're going in the tuba, in the string section, all over the piano, and they're just blazing along. I contrast this with the BBC Proms performance in the Royal Albert Hall just a short time apart from this one. They were powerful and sharp then, too, but the crowd in Caracas just made them tear the roof off the place! This music speaks to me on a personal level, too. I was born the year West Side Story first premiered. I was the son of an audio engineer who made his living recording jazz, Latin music (no, I never call it "salsa"), Broadway show cast albums, and everything in between. The original cast album for West Side Story was right in my grandmother's record collection. The music Bernstein created for this show was an example of New York City's culture: a blend of everything all the immigrants brought from all over the world. It's a genuine joy to hear how Dudamel and the Bolivar orchestra just brought it home as their own.
Well...I have to say it!...not to many orchestras members know how to play and dance at the same time Bernstein's Mambo. That's what make these kids amazing...They set the bar really high and have fun at the same time.
Moments like this has gotten the attention of the music world. Certainly a good indicator for the LA Philharmonic, who snatched Dudamel up ASAP. And now legendary maestro John Williams has moved him to the fast track of being his musical heir apparent.
Lol my conductor must be sooooo energetic to even get so much as a smile of energy out of my orchestra xDD. How did he accomplish this?! You can FEEL THE EXCITEMENT THROUGH THE SCREEENNN!!
@MicrobeObliteratorMo And it's not just the audience; what would you say about the average age of the musicians and don't forget, this is a "world-class" symphony orchestra!!
I'm just shaking my head after this...this group is so phenomenal. I think I second, third, fourth, and a hundred and thirty-sixth the comment that there would've been nothing better than to have been there at that moment.
every one is rite the best thing about this mambo, over other WWS Mambos, is that it's fun and you can see every one from the musicians to the young kids in the seats loving every minuet!!!!!! this is fantastic he is brilliant!
For the love of music!! Bravo, bravo!! I love listening to your Orchestra.....I love your passion. Never lose that!! I am a Latin American Dance teacher in the UK and you had me on my feet laughing and spinning! Thank you, thank you! xxx
A "youth" orchestra which happens to be one of the world's greatest orchestras, playing one section of a composition by America's greatest composer/pianist/conductor. JOYOUS GENIUS.
I've watched/listened to this maybe a dozen or more times. Cried. Laughed. Danced. Now I just released another subtle element. Watch the guy on timpani. He's playing timbales part on his kettle drums!
This is what music is....passion and excellence. Was lucky enough to see Gustavo with the Vienna Symphony this past autumn @ Carnegie Hall....highlight was Ravels Balero. Go Gustavo and the youth of Venezuela!!!!
Leonard Bernstein is smiling somewhere in the Elyssian fields of Heaven as this completely Latin audience thrills at his music! What a wonderful reaction.
You think that is amazing, they played Royal Albert Hall 2007 BBC Proms. The most spectacular performance. Such incredible musicians. I could listen every day. Such joy from their conductor.
As an American I'm most excited and pleased to say that Maestro Dudamel is now the music director of The Los Angeles Philharmonic. He's the best thing to happen to the symphony in my country (or just about anywhere else) since Leopold Stokowski became the music director of The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1912.
VIVA VENEZUELA MI ALMA LLANERA MI PATRIA !!!! I LOVE TIS I LOVE MI PAIS no jodaaaa !

Salud Venezuela.
This is the most invigorated performance of this peice I've ever seen! No wonder the Simon Bolivar, Venezuelan Youth and the Caracas youth were all asked straight off to play at La Scala, Milan!!!!
have u ever seen a crowd get this lit from an orchestra before like god bless venezuela
joycey joy I knowww!!!!
because the piece is not classical, its a very popular song in south america and for those who have watched west side story
@@anonumosGirl nah play this at Europe and the most lit reaction you’ll get is a bit of clapping with a gentle smile on their face
God bless You
I'm crying with laughter. I've never seen so much fun at a classical music concert. I was overwhelmed with joy and vigor.
I've never seen an orchestra performance where the audience could clap along and cheer this is beautiful!
In Latin or Spanish America that is possible.
this gives me goosebumps. a dream to play for an audience like that
Hola
this is what happens when pretentious classical musicians get their giant sticks out of their asses.
@@dansullivanstudios nah this is what happens when they never get one up there to begin with.
HOLY SHIT i've never seen an audience get so excited over an orchestra performance and i wanna be there, this is so fun and energetic
like i remember seeing somewhere that statistically, Venezuela is the "happiest country" and yeah i can believe it tbh
I THOUGHT SO TOO. I WANNA BE THEEERE

Hi! D'accord! Not having had the opportunity to see/hear these concerts live, it is wonderful to be able to enjoy them on my computer! ~H~

There is confetti in the tuba, I repeat CONFETTI IN THE TUBA
This is Venezuela...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I bet the orchestra members feel like a gazillion bucks. Such fervour, what colour, so much love!
This is what humanity should be about, not wars, not fighting, but this.
The fact that they can have so much fun and STILL sound this good is incredible!
Brav-frickin-o
I'm so jealous of this audience.
This experience moved me to tears of joy !!!!!!!

I have watched this every New Year's Eve for the last ten years. This gets me ready for the next onslaught.

I can only picture Lenny dancing along. He would absolutely love this. It is so Bernstein. It is everything he believed in.
_Of course_ Dudamel is the conductor. Of course.
They call him "The Dude". Of course.
No one calls him the "dude" except Anglos.
Epril SiDragøn ha! Totally. I thought that too. He is amazing!!
Last time I saw Dudamel conduct, my scream echoed over the entire Hollywood Bowl 😂
This is the only Mambo performance that's worth listening to!
Whenever I am feeling down, I watch this. It's among my favorites. Who canNOT smile and feel absolute JOY? It's among my favorite videos!
okay this level of excitement and audience participation is what i want to see in all orchestra halls! this was amazing
Viva Venezuela
Well...I have to say it!...not to many orchestras members know how to play and dance at the same time Bernstein's Mambo.
That's what make these kids amazing...They set the bar really high and have fun at the same time.
This is one of my favourite clips of all times!!! I keep coming back to watch it.

You can just feel the happiness radiating from here and it brings me great joy
@MicrobeObliteratorMo And it's not just the audience; what would you say about the average age of the musicians and don't forget, this is a "world-class" symphony orchestra!!
The simple joy of music, this is it. Bernstein would first laugh his ass off and then be proud beyond measure.
I'm just shaking my head after this...this group is so phenomenal. I think I second, third, fourth, and a hundred and thirty-sixth the comment that there would've been nothing better than to have been there at that moment.
