I’ll give Ash some questions: 1. Are you still in banking 2. Did you always want to be in banking 3. What are your favourite things about each other 4. (One for chad) what are your thoughts on AI home design apps? Any recommendations? 5. How old is your dog, did you do puppy phase? (Our dachshund loves hearing Ash’s voice fyi 😂) Great videos/content also
I also have Ash questions... 1. Tell us about your journey getting into interior design and the like. You have such a natural flair. 2. How did you get so good at flower arranging? 3. Skincare routine please!
Loving this series. 1:24 with your wisteria remember the rule “2 in 2, 7 in 7”. Cut back to two buds in February, seven buds in July. Wrong pruning will DEFINITELY adversely affect flowering.
Thorough enjoyed this video and Chad you were hilarious with your comments about Ash's trousers. You two are so well suited. Keep the good work up. Xxx
5:07 Commenting as I watch. Your garden is lovely. The mixture of formal symmetry from the paving and pots and shrubs combined with the blousy planting is magic in my eyes. 👏🏽
Tartan talk is NOT boring for those of us of Scottish descent in North America and other English-speaking countries. My family is a descendant of Sutherland. We all call ourselves proud Scots! Woo Hoo! 😁
I hope that when you sell the house the new owners will appreciate the developing wisteria and continue to tend to it as it is a true asset to any outdoor space. There are tons of places on the internet with advice on wisteria but try to see what Monte Don, the British horticulturist has to say about it, he really knows his greens!
Loved this vlog and the banter 🥰 Chad, we love hearing what you have to say. Keep talking 🫶 Ash !! That beautiful smile can light up the night sky and… you look great in your trousers…all the time 😍😉 …..what about getting Dougal a brother and/or sister 🐕
I have loved vlogmas , although I’m moving to Islington soon I currently live in Surrey and I’m blessed with a lovely wisteria. They take years before they really bloom well but a good tip is to fertilise the soil well in the spring with potash or blood fish and bone.
I’ve researched my family history over the last 10 years and only did an Ancestry DNA test 2 years ago. Having so much of my own data before the test, I was astonished it was so accurate. Trace your ancestors, it’s amazing what can be discovered. I’m from a nothing family but have found links to pivotal events and even family links to a couple of famous people in recent history.
12:29 Me again. Sorry 😂. I agree with you about champagne and it’s wasted on me. English sparkling wines can be lovely and because of global warming southern England is becoming a better environment to grow wine grapes in than northern France apparently. I think the chalky Kent soil helps.
Thank you for another great episode of Vlogmas! I’m going to miss them going forward. Using 23 and Me, my results were 100% Italian, which I had a feeling about. Love watching the both of you! Great episode!
You guys are hilarious! My partner and I have the same chats about chores - like how one of us is better at laundry, and so on. We even joke that my partner’s nose grows bigger every time he tells a lie (it’s already pretty big! 😂)
Ash and Chad I love love your conversations together/ questions with wine 🥂🎉.. The fun the banter and of course informative information is right up my street...😂🎉❤❤ I love it... Ye are both so lovely.. Really enjoying ye're blogmas.. I cannot believe it coming near the end 😮... Its really been a treat.. Full of everything... I cannot believe it's your first... Ye're is one of my favourite and I probably shouldn't have favourites because I know the sheer amount of work and effort that must go into them... I look forward each day to your/ ye'res 😂🎉... Thank you. ❤❤🎉🥂🎄
I am not much of a gardener but I know that prunning the trees out of the right season, May be very very dangereous, they might not give any flours for years. But you seemed so confident 😉
Nyetimber is definitely from Sussex. It started up near Pulborough and they also have vineyards between Petworth and Midhurst. Love your vlogs by the way, always really chatty and natural.
I (Canadian) can trace my family history to the late 1500s in France. We have family photos going back to my great-great-grandparents. My DNA test results were mostly Western Europe, particularly France, England and Ireland with Scotland to a lesser degree. I’m so excited to visit Scotland, England and Ireland on our upcoming cruise. Speaking for myself, I appreciate Ash’s tight trousers! 😊
Really enjoy watching you boys and seeing your beautiful home. I understand that wisteria needs to be at least 7 years old to bloom; it's also important not to over fertilize with nitrogen (although if you're using seaweed solution, that won't be a problem) and to give enough phosphorus (NPK = nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium); pruning should be done in mid-winter and two months after flowering in the summer. Good luck! It could be that your wisteria will only bloom after you've moved!
Chad, if you're interested in the history of the terraced houses search for 40 minutes documentary called "two sides of a street" - Hammersmith in 1989 on how the houses were used back in the day and how they became gentrified by the professional classes. It's a great documentary.

@ The BBC even reported from Norway (!!!) on vineyards there! Their reporter said they were ok. Mad world.
You are such a treat! So refreshing. Always look forward to your videos and really enjoy when Chad joins and provides such quality information (I'm a former teacher). I live in the middle of the U.S. and am envious of where you live and work!
Chad if you've seen American Scott brothers (twins) , they in fact have also Scottish ancestors. Love your accent. Ash love music intro of your videos. ❤
With rambling roses or climbers always lay the branches horizontally- this makes roses flower a lot - you will see shoots along the branches- lots more roses plus banana skins give more roses ( potassium) it all about chemicals , just like our body 🌹🙋♀️🥂⭐️
I would really recommend Italian bubbly like Asti Martini or Asti Mindoro or Canti (no pun intended). It’s like Prosecco but sweeter and generally very pleasant to drink 🍸
This couples moment is life. LOL. Every relationship EVER. It's obvious how much you do love one another though, and that is everything. Also #Armstrong #Harris #Forbes #Douglass #ScottishLass But none of mine are Mac or Mc.
Prune wisteria back to 5 buds in July & 2 in February, I feed mine with rose feed at the same time I feed my roses, thy do say always buy a wisteria when it's in flower so you know its mature as it can take a wisteria up to 15 yrs before it will flower... love your vlogs btw 😊
It is correct pruning in January and July and you will see more flowers. And can really cutting a lot down to get a great result in the summer . If you pruning true the summer, more and more flowers will grow ! And Chad is a clone from me, and i do the same things every morning for my husband and he is exactly Ash........Such a nice video !!!
I have hired genealogists, done both the tests, and I can on my maternal side go back 9 generations. On my paternal side, i can go back 16 generations. Have spent a good fortune looking into my genealogy. Lol, I love the playful banter between you and Chad.
I'm an American and I did the Ancestry DNA because as a child I always heard stories that we had Native American in us. I never believed it and for good reason because my results breakdown came back 34% Europe West, 31% Ireland, 17% Scandanavia, 13% Iberian Peninsula and 4% Great Britain.
I've enjoyed your vlogmas videos so much. As for seaweed, it's not a fertilizer per se, but more of an additive to your fertilizer program. I add it to my liquid fertilizer/water mixture, especially during the growing season or after planting up a new plant because it stimulates growth. The results are outstanding.
We have adopted children from the foster care system and this year for our youngest daughter (now 19 yrs) we have purchased a DNA kit for her. She has really bright red hair and blue eyes so we are curious about her ancestry.
Another great video! You have such great style Ash with colour and renovation skills. Are you planning in the future to start an interior design business in london to help other people do their houses? Many thanks 🙏
I did my DNA with Ancestry 18 months ago or so. I've done a lot of family history so I knew certain things. My original results mainly English from both sides but showed Celtic links from my Father's, for instance 2% Irish. I knew about the Irish connection as I have a Great Great Grandmother who was born in Ireland. My Dad also had Scottish and Welsh too. My mother's side showed some from Scandinavia (who knew?? not me ) Recently though Ancestry have sent an update to my results ( you may have had an update too but you wouldn't know unless you've been on the website. This update has now binned the Irish connection and apparently I've got some DNA from Germanic area!!! I'm not sure how it all works but Ancestry say as they get more and more people doing their DNA then they can be more accurate and your results change. I need to do a bit more research on it all really. I do find it all fascinating however. Let us know if you have had updated results, I'd be interested. Go on your account ,you'll still be able to access your account even if you don't have a current subscription. I use the app.
Hey chaps. What a brilliant vlog I do love Chatting With Chad, and you off course Ash. You’re both so funny. I’ve just stopped your video & you have an adorable look on your face when you look at Chad. Oh Chad you’re a lucky chap. See ya later
So interesting…. In North America, “homely” generally means unattractive and “homey” means warm and cozy. Another reason I love following content creators to get a view of life in other countries. ❤
The MacGregor’s were related to the McAlpines the ancient Royal lines I’m from this clan too. I’m in the process of doing ancestry too. How long does it take to get the results back? I hope Chad has learned now that The Cutty Sark is a Scottish clipper ship. 😉Built on the River Leven in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line, she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, at the end of a long period of design development for this type of vessel, which ended as steamships took over their routes. She was named after the short shirt of the fictional witch in Robert Burns' poem Tam o' Shanter, first published in 1791.
Question for both of you. Ash do you speak Italian? Chad do you speak Scots or Scottish Gaelic? If so, will you teach your children to speak them as well? Such a benefit in life to be multi lingual.
Clan MacNaughton here. My understanding is that there are actually more descendants of Scots currently in the US than there are Scots living in Scotland. An ancestry test connected my branch of the family to another branch that had emigrated to the States at a different time than my grandfather. One of those relatives is an amateur genealogist, and he has researched the family line back to Scotland and Derry. I live in a c.1882 row house and researched the folks that lived here over the years. It was pretty easy to research, as there is a lot of data at the library in my community.
Also Ash, even if your mum‘s family has Welsh names, it still makes sense for you to be more of Italian descent as most people in Wales have Roman ancestors. My DNA test came back (I have a Welsh mum and a Glaswegian father) as Irish Norwegian and Spanish decent 😂
I can't afford champagne. Luckily there are some excellent crémants around - especially from the Loire. Try a Vouvray. Crémant de Limoux is also delicious. There are even plenty of excellent mousseux: they used to be looked down upon as a poor person's champagne, but they are dry, lower % of alcohol, and lovely with food.
@@elizzy8754 will take a look. Thanks for the recommendation. I used to buy lovely cremant from a French farm shop near lyme regis. I also found a nice bottle in Aldi and lidl. Have a lovely Christmas! Hic!
Loved this video guys, it felt like a catch up, with a nice glass of wine…you really do bounce off each other, very entertaining. A quick mention, watched another vlog similar to yours, the guy replaced the stringy part of a bauble with thin blue velvet ribbon. Oh my goodness it made a huge difference. You might have already done this, if not give it a go👌 Take care both of you x
My test came back English, Scottish, Irish, and Scandinavian, Which make total sense, mum was from Devon, Dad from London, his parents were Scottish and Irish, no idea where the Sandi comes from probably Viking
Yes, I did my DNA with Ancestry and then uploaded the data to MyHeritage for free. Ancestry was definitely more accurate. I am half English, half Italian and the results were basically 50/50. 46% south west and south east Italy, 44% England & northwest Europe , tiny bits of French, Spanish, German and Denmark. My maternal English side originate from Kent, so that’s the small Danish addition. MyHeritage gave me North & West European 37.5%, Iberian 36.1%, Greek & South Italian 23.6%, and a random 2% West Asian. I actual found 3 half siblings by uploading my DNA to MyHeritage, my mum conceived me in Canada, she returned to England and my Italian father didn’t know about me. He had emigrated to Canada from Italy in the late 1950s, as had my mum from England, Wimbledon in fact.
Love how Chad is blossoming from the quiet plus 1 of the channel to getting so much interest and time to shine lol
Enjoying the difference of opinions over chores!

Loving this series. 1:24 with your wisteria remember the rule “2 in 2, 7 in 7”. Cut back to two buds in February, seven buds in July. Wrong pruning will DEFINITELY adversely affect flowering.

This is such an amazing idea. Thank you!
You two are very entertaining, really made me laugh today! Loving the vlogmas banter.
I do too.

My daughter studied in Aberdeen, and I have been there several times !
LOL re: Chad reference to Scotland building its own ships. If so the Cutty Sark would still be waiting to be built a la the ferries saga!!! 😂
The Cutty Sark was built in Scotland 😂
Chad, if you're interested in the history of the terraced houses search for 40 minutes documentary called "two sides of a street" - Hammersmith in 1989 on how the houses were used back in the day and how they became gentrified by the professional classes. It's a great documentary.
Is a terraced house a townhouse?
Terroir is literally the soil/climatic environment which gives wine its distinctive qualities. Kent I wager has quite chalky soil which would make it perfect for drier wines.

I actual found 3 half siblings by uploading my DNA to MyHeritage, my mum conceived me in Canada, she returned to England and my Italian father didn’t know about me. He had emigrated to Canada from Italy in the late 1950s, as had my mum from England, Wimbledon in fact.
