I just learned and understand that I need to allow a new battery to breath for 5 minutes before use. After each day's use, however, would it make sense to put the tape back on to "pause" the chemical reaction? I seems to get longer battery life that way...
Do you have a reference for any of the research that recommends waiting 5 minutes after taking off the sticker? I've tried it, and I've tried not waiting at all, and I haven't noticed any obvious difference.
I notice that putting your hearing aids in a drying kit every night is a very good idea. The manufacturers of these kits suggest they stay in for the required eight hours to completely dry them out.. if your aids are rechargeable they need to charge for six hours in most cases. That’s 14 hours that the aids can’t be used. Doesn’t that seem like a lot of time to leave yourself unable to make use of the aids and hear properly?
Hearing aids have a much higher IP rating these days. Most BTE/RIC devices are currently rated IP68 which does mean a high level of water resistance compared to older devices. So there is less need for the constant use of the drying kits as a result of this (although they are still handy to use). Lithium-ion rechargeable hearing aids typically require up to 3 hours for a full charge, so can be used with a drying kit (although not as easily). Some (but not all) manufacturers have designed their charger with a receptacle for a silica gel capsule for easier management as well.
Can you suggest best battery brand ??? As p10 from powerone battery produce max of 3 days of battery life and resound battery produce max of 5days for an iic device without bluetooth. Although both the brand has same manufacturing company. And also how to identify it is original or duplicate one. Powerone has one or two types of packing
Hi Rk, being so small, getting 5 days from a size 10 battery is quite good. Regarding brands, interestingly the hearing aid manufacturers recommend different brands of batteries for their hearing aids, so a powerone may work better in one brand compared to another. So your best bet is to always ask your audiologist about your particular brand of hearing aid. If it is a rebranded packet, they usually still have the brand written on the back in very small writing. Hope this helps!
@@rks2543 It is difficult to answer this without seeing your audiogram. Generally the answer to this question would depend on how advanced the otosclerosis is. If it is far advanced and has significantly damaged the cochlea then in some cases, a CI could be considered. However, your ENT surgeon would have to carefully assess the situation. If it is otosclerosis that is purely causing a conductive loss or a mixed loss then a hearing aid, or a middle ear implant would likely be a better option. You should talk to your audiologist about your particular situation.

I have returned 3 times immediately after buying from Amazon as it shows only 1v or less.
