I used your video to guide me in replacing the flexible coupling on my 2014 Optima. You did a great job in explaining both which screws and connectors needed to be removed, but also in how to properly remove them. Thank you! Your video saved me hundreds of dollars in repair costs.
Me and my grandpa used this video to fix the little gear thingy and it was very helpful and clear on how to take everything apart. Kinda crazy that a 1 dollar part would have so much labor to go with it haha. Do be warned that column is a heavy sob.
I just finish this, I took everything apart last night and put them together this morning. This video helped a lot, I sincerely do appreciate you. You save me $ 1700 that Kia dealership wanted to charge me.
Hey, like everyone else, I want to thank you for this video. I also did the job for my Kia Optima, and was a success! Part = €1 Labour (Kia) = 4 hours of €85! So I did it (with the confidence from your video). Took me less than an hour!
My mechanic suggested I buy the entire steering column. I just got off the phone with KIA dealership in San Antonio, the complete steering column is $ 1,026, excluding labor cost. This video explain everything very well. I can do this myself. It might take me longer though.
Just did this repair on my sonota following your sonota video. Great help. Pulled it off problem free . Took a lot longer then you . But you saved me a ton of cash. Thanks.
Hey bro shout out from Phoenix, AZ much appreciation. Had to do a little digging to come across this video, but this is the exact answer to my problems and saved me plenty of cash 🙏🏽
Thank you very much for your video. It helped me a lot. very simple and exactly what is necessary to solve a problem that seemed very complicated. At the dealer they tried to collect 400 dollars plus taxes. very thankful
Great video! Hardly any cuts so see some of the struggle. Hate those videos that cut and make it seem easier than it is. Good to know exactly what we are getting into.
Man Great Video I Was Overhere Wanting To Change The Tie Rods Already lol...Life Saver Video That Noise Was Getting On My Last Nerve...👍👍THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!👍👍
Man this guy is the best! Thanks for taking the time to teach us! Thanks to you! I also fixed my Hyundai and made a video about it! Thanks Dullah! You do Go so Hard!
Thank you so much for making this. My 2011 Optima was about a year out of the extended warranty for this stupid part. It took me a lot longer but I got it done! I used the jack for the spare tire to help lift the column back up. There was also plenty of swearing along the way 😂.
Thank you for this video, I noticed a funny sound in the steering wheel and this video was the solution to fix it. My optima is steering like new again!
i just did this. very easy. the only hard part is i was having a little problem mounting the steering assembly back and put an initial screw to hold it bcz it is very heavy.
I watched this video 4 times. Because of how great the explanation was and hardly any cuts. This dude is a legend, btw he has 4 hands, not 2 🫡. He took his time to show us every little detail. Gosh, this guy is awesome 👏
Hi; I have a KIA Optima 2011 with an electrical problem that I have not been able to fix; also, I have not been able to drive the car in this condition for over a month. This vehicle has not been involved in an accident or any mechanical or electrical work was performed prior to this happening, It happened all of the sudden and without warning. In addition, it does not show any trouble code in the scanner. Problem: Headlights, city lights, dashboard, interior lights flicker or blinks as soon as I start the car and turn the headlights on and the keyless entry, door locks, power windows only work intermittent and sometimes the horn goes off. Things that I have checked and or replaced: 1- Battery (fully charge) 2- Alternator (charging well) 3- All grounds checked (all good) 4- Cabin fuse box changed and the problem continue 5- All fuses checked and (they are all good) 6- Head lights switch changed (that did not solve the problem either) 7- I hire an auto electronics technician and he was not able to solve the problem either I do not know what else to check or to do; your help will be appreciated. Thank you. Louis
Can u tell me please if this is the same for the 2010 forte ex sedan because I heard it's not , please help me with any info u can, thanks for your video
Check your front suspension like inner and outer tie rod end control arm etc... I think its different for your car because your car have power steering pump not an electric power steering motor
There is a TSB on this they changed it to 10 years unlimited mileage. TSBCHA072R1. shows how to replace the part. this is an updated version of the TSB.
Do I have to take the negative off of the battery so the airbag won’t deploy and if so when do I take it off after removing the 2 screws from the steering wheel?
I just replaced the whole suspension system and i still feel something popping on yhe steering wheel while driving. It does not have play when moving side to side. But, could it still be the plastic gear thats bad?
My gfs car is a 2017 optima..the steering column makes that sound when reaching 60mph . Is that the same problem..had alignment checked already..its not that.
they all disintegrate so most likely yes it is if you don't replace it today you will someday and if you own your car for many years "more than once" because the part is still the same shit , every hiunday and kia a very stupid and weak part
@@tonycavez someone made the same part but with a different material. I think it was some kind of metal that’s really strong you just have to look for it! Somewhere on a RUclips video regarding this you’ll find the guy advertising it ‘
midas quoted me $1200; $20 for the part and 3 hours or so? Then again, it's midas ripoff. My mechanic quoted me $200 for the labor and asked me to get a second hand steering column from a low mileage crashed car for $150 instead of replacing the rubber bushing. Toronto, ON. I'm thinking I could do it myself, just scared to fk up the wires
@@DruManjiDrew thanks for letting me know dude. I just contacted a dealership in regards to this. Hopefully they clear it up. Not sure if this works in Canada
Here is where you can find the part, the link for the part is here amzn.to/2GgsIJn
Question.. I follow all steps but my steering wheel is pretty hard? What did I miss
Thanks...I have the same noise problem. May I ask where are u located at...if u can work on my vehicle. Thanks 😊

Hi! My kia optima steering also make noise while going over bumps apart from turning the wheel. Is it the same reason
i don't understand why they make rotating load bearing parts out of plastic, these things should be made of metal.
Hello..tell me please when you push the brake on the highway the steering wheel have a vibration before you change the small plastic piece ? Thank you
Its your front brake rotors bad
Hey Bro thanks for Video!
There is a TSB on this they changed it to 10 years unlimited mileage. TSBCHA072R1. shows how to replace the part. this is an updated version of the TSB.
Thanks, does this mean Kia will replace the part at no cost as long as it is less than 10 years old?
What's up with the roach running into the A/C knob at minute 15:02 I hate when I run into nasty cars like that.
What's the name for the parts pls help me ??
So what exactly happens if this part never gets replaced?
Is it safe to drive the vehicle on that condition?
Thank you so much!! Ima send you a couple bucks.
What the name of that part you change pleas ?
Do I have to take the negative off of the battery so the airbag won’t deploy and if so when do I take it off after removing the 2 screws from the steering wheel?
Disconnect the battery
Is there a switch on the fuse for power steering ? My steering wheel light is on with a an Exclamation point & my wheel is tight

Thanks Bro. Money sent👍
Thank you broski i appreciate your support
Great video could you answer me about the replacement, what was the mileage
I didn't take note of the mileage on the car

Is it safe to drive the car with this issue ?
Very descriptive
Is it normal for it to make a little bit of noise after?
Why is it that everytime the steering wheel column cover gets put back toghether there is always a gap?
