Have a safe trip mate. Just one thing to suggest doing...stick some tinted wrap material on the inside of that window on your van, because you can see there is bike gear in there with those forks. Otherwise your making yourself a bit of a target for some scrote to nick your stuff.
Jealous - I love Iceland. Only done it once on the bike (just hired one from Biking Viking) and since then done it 4 times in a jeep - I found the weather was more conducive to having a roof 😂
I did a search. Looks like that's actually on the low side - I'm seeing prices of around 300 euros a day upwards, plus a £2,000 excess for damage. Seeing the wisdom of your method now!
I hired one a few years ago from Biking Viking. Prices then were 175eur per day for a small single cylinder, but looks now like they only do big bikes for much more cost :( Being honest, I’ve done it since in a jeep a few times and I do think, as much as love MC touring, Iceland is better suited to 4WD. When the weather comes in it can be pretty miserable on 2 wheels Also jeeps are much cheaper to hire (less than £100 per day)
@@leeinwis Sort of.....pie in a can. To some people of a certain age, they were almost a luxury item. They made good boat food, as they kept without refrigeration. Nothing like a steak and kidney pie with gravy in mid-Atlantic.

When in Rome!!!
Have fun!

What's the bike hire situation in Iceland? Seems like it might be cheaper to hire something there, even allowing for their hefty prices?
You'll be paying upwards of 200 euros a day I would think. Cheaper if you're going for a week but not over a week
@@nathanthepostman Thanks Nathan. Yes, sounds like it could mount up.
If you Google striking viking Reykjavik you'll be able to see their latest prices

Stay safe! Ride Safe! Lord, I hope it's cool there in temperature for you!
I hope it's hotter than average! A good lava flow should warm it up
