That is a gorgeous looking machine! I hope it handles as well as it looks. I’m too old to consider a new bike, or I could be shelling out for one of those. I’ll continue to bimble around on old machines! Hope the Iceland trip is a wonderful one. Go well, go safe! Les
I took a breath at the cost of the wheels and suspension, but then thought how much bike you now get for still not too much money, and it is top notch. The hub, the rims, the tubeless function, the suspension, and the add-ons. And well, just look at it! Looking forward to seeing how it performs in Iceland, and for watching the adventures over there. Cheers from NZ. Ride safe.
Nice job! Considering the spoke wheel and tire setup for my speed 400 (not x scrambler) Lots of dirt and gravel roads around my area. Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant - NEEDS tail tide please 🙂- man those wheels and rack set it off - why do bikes look 10x better with knobby tyres? 40 years riding dirtbikes you would think i would be over the knobby tyre thing but nope - see this with knobby on and it just looks harder, faster, more fun and ready for end of the world mad max fuel hunting missions etc - LOVE IT. Oh and have a safe and enjoyable trip !
Looks awesome I sold my 400X after 7000km but would be tempted to get one like yours once you set it up call it a 400XE-it’s a great little engine and looks amazing but the NX500 I replaced it with is better for the touring I do here which is more on road
Great looking bike Nate - one thing, have you considered unbolting the centre portion of the front fender and reattaching it above the support brackets - that might well give you some valuable extra clearance for those chunkier tyres?
Have you done anything to cure the snatchy throttle at low down speeds? I have one and love it apart from the snatchy throttle which makes low speed riding a pain, otherwise a surprisingly punchy engine from 400cc
Just found you. I just got hold of one. I'm interested in what you do with it. I won't be going to the full extent you have, but I would like to improve the stock bike.
Got one of these arriving in the next week or two. Defo getting those wheels. - you did say when you first got the 400x, you felt it was more of a pop out for an hour or two bike and then head home. Now it's off to Iceland - decided it'll make a good long distance tourer now?
I had one of these for n order but cancelled after the test ride, engine was great but that front was simply terrible. I wouldn’t personally worry about £1200 for the wheels just to make it look pretty but 8-900 to transform the suspension would money well spent but it does then make it cost the same or more than some decent competition.
At the end of the video you mentioned that Rally Raid was working on a lowering solution for the 400X,. wouldn't people just buy the 400 Street version if they wanted a lower bike? Or am I missing something there? BTW, the 400X looks amazing now. Have fun!
These exact 3 bikes you mentioned Him 450, KTM 390 Adv and Triumph 400 are on my shopping list but did not test ride any yet. How would you rate them againts each other...?

@@leslieaustin151 TracTive are a Dutch suspension company (who are business to business only, they do not retail directly) - which Rally Raid have partnered with for over 10 years to manufacture specific suspension to their designs and specifications for the bikes they concentrate on: KTM690, CB500X, G310GS, Tenere 700, CRF300 and now the Triumph 400. All of Rally Raid's suspension is exclusive to them, although you can also buy a version of some shocks for certain bikes like the Tenere from other sources.
Then I couldn't afford it, like most of their other offerings. That's why I bought a speed 400 ....however regretfully that's just been returned after 700 miles (as 'not fit for purpose') due to the heavy oil leakage between cylinder head/barrel... I chose a replacement bike over a refund as I seriously like the bike. As an old/short rider, it suits well, here's hoping...😎

Best looking 400x out there so far! Well done Nathan and Rally Raid!
Looks like a Triumph should, and probably goes like one too… Mr Turner would approve! Have a great trip.
Looking 10x better than supplied😂

Bike looks splendid!
Looks great...excellent Job!
You have made the 400x very beautiful, it is the best looking motorcycle so far
I really like this channel. Interesting stuff, nicely presented and no patronizing BS. Ciao.
This is best looking motorcycle that I have ever seen in my entire life.
The bike looks awesome. I definitely want this kit on my 400x
That´s how it should came stock from Triumph. :) Looking forward to hear from your trip to Iceland! Cheers
Looks absolutely mint. Would love to get a set of those wheels if I got a 400x. Looking forward to your 450MT review 👀
Have a great trip to Iceland, your Lejog and Ireland adventures were excellent fun.
Beautiful bike!
Can’t wait for the cf 450mt review as well. Safe journey Nathan an crew.
Rally Raid is doing great things for motorbiking - Happy trails in Iceland!
The first 400X with spoked wheels I bet! Pleased Rally Raid has taken up the challenge
Tasteful mods and practical. All the best for Iceland trip.
Looks fantastic, wow!
Outstanding looks!!!
Looks SO good!
That looks like a much more serious and more fun bike now. Well done!
And love the colour matched adventure crocs to go with it. 😉

She’s a beauty mate! Happy trails. Those wheels would look good on my green Honda ct125.
Great Advice about traveling. I'm going to do a trip around the USA for a few months. Considering this as my muel. I'm torn.

So right about the tyres, they just look baddass on any bike.
The wheels transform it. They look stunning. Expensive option, though. Nick

Tubeless spoke wheels … worth every penny the first time you get a flat ! 👍🏻

Hi. Looks sharp! Was wondering where the link to the Amazon hand guards was?
They look like the handguards I fitted to my 411. Search for JFG Racing or Goofit.

What is the weight difference between stock wheels and tyres and the RR/AX41 combo?
Not sure to be honest. Will try and find out later

Speed 400 has 17" wheels front and rear, the Scrambler has a 19" front wheel and slightly more upright ergonomics.

Okay... I deffo want one of those rear racks... where from please...??? that looks a lovely bit of kit...
All the kit is from Rally Raid in the uk
Where can I buy those racks? Especialy the one on the pillion SEAT.
Rally Raid will have them on their website sometime soon
Any talk of an exhaust for this bike? Would love to hear it more beefy
Haven't looked into it. I quite like the look of the stock one though
I never understood having fenders so close to the tire with knobs aren’t you just gonna get rocks caught in there as the tire pulls them up

With such a poor quality chain fitted do you think we can expect premature wear on what is possibly poor quality sprockets as well?
I think everything is going to wear out prematurely going by the chain and brake pads!
