I loved this mattress! Moved it to the guest room before opting for a Hastens but this is definitely great , and probably the best I’ve had after trying out all the mainstream /S brands.
Hi Lisette, this model would be OK for a heavier back/side sleeper, but as I just explained in your comment on our other video, IMO the best option for that would be this one: www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/stearns-foster-reserve-medium-tight-top/ You can see how they stack up against each other here: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=stearns-foster-lux-estate-medium-tight-top&mod=stearns-foster-reserve-medium-tight-top
Hi there, I assume you're talking about comparing the two Medium Tight Top models, right? Of those, the Reserve is a tad softer. Here's a full side by side comparison between them: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=stearns-foster-lux-estate-medium-tight-top&mod=stearns-foster-reserve-medium-tight-top I hope that's helpful.
For this mattress since it has the side vents, if I were to buy a mattress protector (waterproof), would that prevent the mattress from cooling properly?
We doubt this would be a problem, no. The air vents should still function with most mattress protectors, as the water impermeable membrane on these is typically limited to the top surface and not the sides. Hope that helps!
@@goodbed I'm not a mattress expert nor am I saying anything negative about the mattress. I do though think the ventilation holes on the side of the mattress are there to expel air as you sit or lay down rather than for cooling purposes.
@@brendanschuierer4678 Yes, you are correct. And of course, the benefit of being able to expel air is that warmer air inside the mattress can more easily escape and be exchanged with cooler air from outside the mattress. As a more general statement, air flow is the single most important factor in the design of a mattress that will determine whether it sleeps cooler or warmer. I hope that's helpful.
@@goodbed You are the expert my friend. Do you know if the "Stearns & Foster" mattress's sold by Costco are of the same quality. Thank you for a great review.
This model came out in 2023. Given Stearns & Foster’s typical product development schedule, this means it’s still relatively early in its lifecycle. Hope that’s helpful.
@@goodbed Do you see a lot of difference between this model and the 2024 BR series 3 medium mattress? I laid on both in store and they felt very similar. Any key differences or longevity concerns on the Stearns vs. the BR? The Stearns is a little less expensive.
@@java620 We'd actually put these in similar categories with regards to durability and longevity. The major difference is going to come in looking at their respective coil units - Stearns uses a "coil-in-coil" design and the Beautyrest uses a "triple-stranded" coil on their Black models - but we think both are high quality options. There's not a clear winner here in terms of raw specs. And just to double-check our reasoning, here's a quick comparison of those models with specs: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=beautyrest-black-series-3-medium&mod=stearns-foster-lux-estate-medium-tight-top
Hey there! We are not aware of any differences between the Lux Estate and Lux Estate "Elite" models, no. These have the same listed heights and specs based on what we've seen. While it's possible that there are subtle differences here in these models (or the Elite models might reflect an unannounced update), we think it's more likely that these are still the Lux Estate models. And for clarity's sake, the current Stearns catalogue is organized like so: Studio, then Estate, then Lux Estate, and then Reserve and Lux Hybrid. Hope that helps!
@goodbed thanks for the reply. The only way to find it on Stearns website is to Google search the name stearns and foster lux estate elite. I think it has more springs and upgraded materials.
I just purchased the lux estate medium pillow top and I love it so much. Very supportive yet soft
Do you think it’s soft enough for a 140lbs person?
@@hastensavoir7782yes I tried in the store, it is amazing!!!
