According to the Hills, all original Maggini’s were labeled “Gio: Paulo Maggini in Brefcia .” (the “f” of course being that “Italianate” “s”)…
I’d buy a dating of circa 1870-1930, pending a closer inspection, but, yes, definitely above the run of the mill Maggini copy, and yes, the Chinese do some amazing work!
    - Cheers,
    Glenn

A 19th century copy, the real ones do not have an extra turn on the scroll

If you look on various sites you’ll see this same violin for sale. It’s easy to get excited about some of these forgeries, but they are never what you hope they are. The bright side is that if this is anything like my fake Badarello, it’s a good instrument that can give you years of enjoyment.
    Signed,
    Been there, done that 😂😂

You must be the luckiest person on this paltry planet. You have found so many multi-million dollar instruments.

Why the back of the scroll is not worn out for the violin made in 1600th? Is this a copy?

Clearly a reproduction…not very old…no neck graft or rebushing of the peg holes…scroll is completely wrong and although the double purfling is correct the instrument is 250 years after the original.

Same poster as the 4/4 Stradivari violin ... how convenient. Both are real or both are fakes. It is too coincidental that the same person posted about both old violins...

Fake, neck’s not grafted , no usual wear marks. Wishful thinking

The violin experts and investors can make all the comments they want .... regular folks do not much care ....if this is a fake of a 1600s violin, specify just why and post a video of the expose.

Your credibility, when it comes to violins, is zero with me.
